I've been using the version that comes with the Technic pack (Which still uses 1.1), and it crashes pretty much anytime I try to use an interactive block with it (such as a chest or a crafting table).
I tried to copy the log, but it only flashes there for a second before switching to a white screen, and you don't appear to have any guide on how to access crash logs on a mac =/
This was actually a pretty helpful video, you managed to condense almost all of the new updates into a nice little 3 min. video. Thanks to this, once my computer stops crashing, I shouldn't have to spend hours wondering where to start in the full game.
I just have a few critiscisms.
1. DAT INTRO. Seriously, lower the volume on it or something, I almost jumped out of my chair.
2. You mispronounced mycelium/mycelia (haven't played it yet, not sure which spelling they're using). It's MY-SILLY-UM, not MOLESTIUM. I almost didn't know what you were talking about there.
3. Loud mouse is loud, you may want to move the mic further away from it in the future or soemthing.
I think we should be able to ride the dragons, just not the wild ones. Perhaps they could drop eggs when killed, or eggs/egg blocks could be found near their nests? Then, only dragons raised from those eggs could be tamed and mounted, as the adults would be too feral.
I like this idea. Maybe we could even breed different colored dragons (like go to Red Dragon nest, take egg, go to Yellow Dragon nest, take egg, hatch and raise them together, they make an Orange Dragon).
I followed pretty much everything to the letter (except for that bit about opening minecraft using a text document, that didn't really do anything when I tried it, along with Optimine, wihich isn't 1.8 compatible yet, making it my last hope), but nothing actually worked.
I guess I'm stuck using a short render distance unless I spend a few hundred dollars on a new computer :sad.gif: .
I'm still pretty new at minecraft, but after reading the wiki and watching various videos, along with failing numerous times on different worlds (I even lost a diamond pickaxe, amongest other diamond items :sad.gif: ), I finally decided to build a base for myself and try to make it as mob proof as possible before killing myself in some random pit or cave.
I took a bit of time gathering wood and stone, before deciding to build my house out of stone bricks. It took far more time than I expected, but I feel pretty confident about the (currently incomplete) end result.
Now my only worries are...
1. Was using stone bricks a mistake? Should I have used ordinary bricks?
2. Which easily gathered material is strongest against creeper attacks (I'm aware that obsidian is the best material possible, but it seems to be extremely rare to come by, and my last attempt to gather some of it was what resulted in me losing my diamond items)?
3. How well lit must my home be to keep mobs from spawning in/on/around it?
4. I'm hoping by the time my house is completed, it'll be about 3 floors high, have a large moat around the whole thing to keep endermen out (would 3 squares wide be enough?), numerous torches surrounding it, perhaps even a few tamed wolves to guard the surrounding areas. Is there anything else I should have?
5. If I die, will I respawn near my bed (I tried this once before, but a zombie moved in and interrupted my sleep, and I respawned in the default area. The second time I tried it resulted in a creeper rushing in and blowing up the entire area, resulting in me ragequitting)?
6. How do I effectively attract passive mobs such as sheep, pigs, and cattle to the house?
And, most importantly,
7. How can I prevent myself from getting lost in the world, would a compass help, or will that only redirect me to the default area?

How am I supposed to help them grow then? They same to take forever to make it themselves.

The coloring is ok I guess (I kind of miss the brighter 1.8.1 swamps), but the transitioning really deos need work.

I haven't run into any strongholds yet.
Havent run into any villages yet (as convenient as that would be).
I've seen quite a few endermen, but they havent actually moved around anything I've placed.
