I don't remember Mumfrey saying something about not updating to 1.7.9 (only to skip minor versions for which no MCP update exists anyways), and with MCP updating to 1.7.9 soon™ I think an update isn't that far away anymore.
is that what he said? i looked but couldn't find where it had been said
So can I use this with 1.7.9? Because I do things that are made much easier with it, and I remember seeing somewhere that mumfrey said he had no intentions of updating beyond 1.7.2 because something something major changes or whatever.
I don't understand why people get so hostile when concern for a mod's development progress(or lack thereof) is brought up. I know there's some kind of forum rule against it, but that's mainly there to stop threads from being 5000 pages of "updat pls". I know a lot of people ask when the update will be ready; many of them, like Trid3nt, are genuinely curious whether a mod is being worked on still. And for those who are unaware that he has a twitter or anything, a quick "not dead yet" post is a god-send. I dunno about you, but when I read a mod thread and see the OP/creator/author/whatever participating in the thread beyond supplying the first post by which the thread is born, it makes me feel good.
And instead of continuing that silly argument, you could've simply said "check his twitter, <link to his twitter>" and that'd have been the end of it. Rather, you chose to be a smartass and extend a simple matter by nearly a full thread page. It could've been as simple as "hey is this mod still being worked on?" "check his twitter <link>", and it would've been a done deal.
And to be honest, he owes the users of his mod an explanation of progress of sorts as a simple courtesy. If he's ever abandoning the project, mod/modpack developers need to know so that they may start reworking their projects to function without NEI.
I searched the topic for "unknown item name" and got no hits, so I'm hoping I'm not repeating this, but whenever I try to use the new 1.7.2 NEI client on a CraftBukkit server, I cannot give myself any items. I'm opped. I get an error saying "Error: Unknown item name: tile.stone" for example. Everything else expected for SMP works, except the NEI Subsets.
I do wonder something; up til now I've been using TMI and I can use all of its features just fine on SMP, including enchanting. I wanted to switch to NEI for the tooltips. Why is enchanting disabled in NEI on SMP? Is it something I can enable (without switching to a Forge or MCPC+ server)?
Dunno how it's set up in NEI, but I had the same issue with TMI, which was fixed by changing give-command-num-id:false to true
you and 15 million other people that ask again and again and again and again.
stop and wait. if it's not out yet then too bad, wait some more or start working on your own mod.
It's still not really out of the question for some people to want someone working on a mod to at least pop into their thread every now and then and go "hey, it's not dead yet, i'm still working on it", rather than the apparent setup of "don't ever ask if the mod is still being updated, just wait silently for three months with not a single word from the mod developer"
Any reason for the item IDs not being present in the 1.6.4 version? In 1.6.2 and previous, when you hovered over an item in the inventory, the name of the item would have its ID in the same bubble. This is gone in 1.6.4, any reason why?

Yes you are the only one. Just cause they all say true won't help you. You need to scroll a little further to 'biome settings' and change 'add biomes to default world=false' <---change that to true. Or you could simply go to 'more world options' and change the 'world type' to biomes O plenty before you create a new world
Darn, you mean to tell me that "Yes, my config is set for them to spawn" wasn't clear enough to mean "I have all of the appropriate settings set to 'true' and I had no such issue prior to v0.6.0"?

I think you may be a year or three behind on that, because both mods have been being upated regularly.

Still wondering about this, if anyone knows.

It's getting kind of annoying because it's buggy as hell with the latest version of forge
