Just wanted to give you some unofficial info regarding Pixeludi from my side. [...]

Ok, it's a hard thing to do, but this has to be done. I, Mruqe, the author of Pixeludi Pack, hereby grant jaZz_KCS full and exclusive right to the name Pixeludi Pack and the use of textures I made. I'm sure you'll be the best person to take it from here, man. Thank you for sticking around and trying to keep this pack alive.

I would prefer to do everything myself, but both my family life and my work at GOG.com doesn't give me a chance to do so.

I would only ask to always be included as the original creator of the pack, and I would love to see the style retained for the new textures.

I'm sorry for hogging onto this pack for so long, but I always hoped to make it happen, somehow.

Also, I think I have some things made but unpublished. jaZz_KCS, please PM me your e-mail, so I can send you all of the assets I made.

    Regards! :-)

Nope, not dead yet. Just ridiculously overworked and/or down with the flu. But we'll get there, eventually ;-)

    A little progress update.

I'm going through terrain.png first, as always. I've done the glowstone lamp, jungle tree trunk, and new sandstone tiles (I'm not satisfied with them, though, and I'll probably change them for the umpth time).

I'll upload another WIP version soon.

I've downloaded the latest update and fooled around a bit. WOW. The number of new things in the game is amazing, and I'm loving most of the ideas. I think they bring a great lot of new possibilities for people who really like to detail their MC worlds.

Nice to see that the game is progressing so nicely!

Thanks! That helps a lot. I still might have some questions later, but I'll stick to what is self-explanatory for now.

Separate files for different textures, you say? Well, that shouldn't be a big problem, and I see it as a much better solution then the current one, design-wise.

Ok, so - here's the deal. I need you guys to help me to get the pack up to date again. The thing that makes the task difficult for me right now is not that I can't find time to do the actual graphics. It's the fact that I've lost track of MC updates completely, and I don't know what needs to be done. If someone could bring me up to speed on what tiles, things, mobs, and stuff has been added since I last updated the pack, I could make the essential additions pretty quick, so the pack would be working properly again, and then move on to fine polishing and adding non-essential stuff, like the mobs.

Here is the latest WIP version of the pack: PixeludiPack_July2012_WIP.zip - it's much more up to date than the last official version available on the Pixeludi website, but it still terribly outdated. If someone could give me a bullet-point to-do list here, with some description of non-apparent stuff, I would be able to finally get this thing back on track. Any person that delivers some worthwhile contribution will off course be credited for it and can expect some form of a reward (like a personal MC character skin).

I'm sorry that I didn't thought of that before, but I'm not much of a team player when it comes to creative stuff. I'm working on that, though. I can change! ;-) So, what do you say? Any volunteers? We can get this thing back up, if you help me :-)

BTW. My son, Stanisław, is now 5 months old, he's doing fine and is a source of pride and joy for me and his mom :-D

This truely is the best texture pack of all time. Never seen a better one. Cant wait for the update!

Thank you! The update is nearly done, but there's no telling when I'm going to actually finish it. My new job and--more importantly--my two week-old son, are keeping me very busy :-) But it'll come. Promise.

And thank you guys for the help with figuring out what's what.

BTW, since there's 1.3.1 out since yesterday I would assume that Mruqes need a little time to make something out of the new items/blocks :D

Exacto mondo! :-D But I'm ready with MOST of the blocks and items, anyway. There are just a few textures in terrain.png I haven't figured out yet. Namely: the three squares on the left from the emerald ore block. I'm not sure what are those supposed to be (help!). I'm assuming that the one on the right of the tripwire hook is the tripwire itself. Please correct me if I'm wrong :-)

And when that's done, all there is left are the GUI elements added since MC 1.0. There are quite a few of them, but I tend to handle them quickly. Oh... and there's the ender chest. I can't leave it looking like that, I suppose. But I don't think I'll be adding any new mobs in this release.

Thank you :-) I'll try to update the pack ASAP so there won't be a blank space once you remove your edited pack.
I get the idea behind the connected textures and it sounds great. But tell me - is there a separate file for those?

Hi guys :-) I know I said a couple of times that I'm working to update pack and then didn't, but I'm glad to tell you that I was able to resume my duties as the creator of Pixeludi Pack and I'm whipping up an update as we speak.

I managed to overcome my financial issues (found a great gaming industry-related job <3) and I finaly have some extra time to pixel away ;-)

Thank you for trying to keep this pack alive in my absence. I would like to ask you to remove all of the derivative work as soon as the official update is out. On that day I will also have a contest to announce (with cool prizes that will satisfy every gamer!).

Expect to hear from me soon!

    EDIT:

Also: "this pack does not have connected textures for windows, sandstone, etc for those ppl who use optifine or spoutcraft." - please explain. What are "connected textures" and why are they needed if you run optifine?

I'm very happy to announce, that the pack is getting an update by the end of the month. I managed to find some extra time to work on it :-) Still no idea how to make it pay off, though :-(

Here's the thing. Google apparently doesn't like the fact that I have a fanbase and thinks it's bad for their business. They decided to terminate my AdSense membership effectively depriving me of 90% of income that Pixeludi was accumulating.

I hate to sound like a materialist *****, but I have to focus on stuff that pays. I actually got around to count just how much money a single download is worth for me. I came up with a figure close to $0,0025. That means I get 1$ for every 400 downloads. Or at least - I used to get that much with Google Ads working - now it's going to be more like 1$/5000 downloads. There are virtually no donations from users and AdFly pays really poorly. There's simply no way I can afford regular updates at this time. It takes many hours of work to get one up - hours I should be spending doing some work that will turn an income. Why? I have a baby coming in 5 months.

I will, however, continue to work on Pixeludi Pack (and other MC-related projects) in my spare time. The updates will eventually come. If I had a way to turn this thing into a profitable activity - it would help a lot. I'm open to suggestions!

Or maybe you know someone who would like to buy an $3700 piece of original Minecraft art by Kristoffer Zatterstrand? You know - this awesome thing:

It would really take the edge off the material situation for me :-)

Thanks for your patience and support! I'd love to be able to a lot more for you, than I do now!

    Hi!

Oh man... I visit this thread far too seldom. I see a lot of great suggestions. I will resume my skin-making business soon, I promise. There's just too many things happening in my life now.

The egg update is coming soon. I'm trying to make the eggs vary a bit more then in the default pack...

On other note - my google ads account was suspended due to suspected misuse. The only reason I can imagine causing that is that some of my users in good faith click on the ads whether they are interested with the advertised link or not. I would like to ask you to refrain from doing that from now on. Please - click on the ads only if you are genuinely interested with the advertised product. Google has to keep their clients happy and safe. And that is my intention as well.
