I bid my goodbye to this pathetic shelter that I built on this server. Even though my stay in that tiny structure was uncomfy, it was worthwhile. I have now demolished it being content that it had served its purpose.

Seriously, I really need a house. I'm not going to stay in a shack forever. I went collecting materials that I think I need for construction (I didn't even bother mining diamonds and farming for food). Spruce wood is so abundant in my environment; Even if I cut a lot of trees the environmental damage isn't too visible. Thankfully, the dark oak biome is near to the base. I got dark oak wood from there. I used basic tools such as stone and iron ones and all I could say is that the work done in collecting stuff was tedious.

I used to do pillar jumping and make dirt scaffolds when I build houses. Thanks to the ender ender which was built on the server, I have now used ender pearls for getting around the construction site. Also, I had more falling deaths because of the ender pearls and my hunger pausing my recovery.

After (I think) three days of heavy construction, I have finally finished the house (except for my entrance path). I haven't furnished it yet (it's going to be another long day for me to finish that).

I was invited to play on this server and I do love the offer. Since I don't usually meet up with the guys online, I'll just show my own works in the server through this thread.

What I built in the server actually gave me an idea on what my future mineshaft would look like (I'm referring to my SSP world where I'm currently stuck at building a mining zone). However, I don't want it to look like that for now. I used easy-to-get materials for building and did not bother using materials coming from the nether or any materials that needs farms or whatever. You may notice that what I had achieved so far are only made up of one material.

Anyway, here's my small little cabin situated in a dense taiga biome. I know, I know, it looks absolutely crap. Still, this is better than how I started my current SSP world.

Aside from that, I also had my first creeper made crater. Aw man, I didn't want to have creepers exploding on me in my first week in the server.

Though I don't have a decent looking starter house, I made sure the mineshaft I was developing was at least decent looking ( I think?). I'm too lazy creating a construction palette or whatever (since I was too lazy gathering materials other than spruce wood that time), so I apologize for my lack of variety this time. What you see here are screenshots of the entrance viewed at different angles.

Here is the stairwell viewed from the underground hallway. Notice that the scaffolds are all spruce haha.

This is the underground hallway where the crafting station and furnaces are located. Initially, I wanted the crafting station to look like etho's storage area but I didn't have a supply of slimeballs. Also, I did not have a fair amount of redstone to do that so I had to build something cheaper. Lastly, this and the furnace room are the only rooms where I used other materials besides srpuce.

The crafting station. Basically, you just step on the pressure plate and the pistons unlock themselves so you can access the crafting bench and the chests.

A simple automatic furnace. Not much really.

And yeah, that's it. So far, I have already dug down a tunnel reaching level 8 and I also found an abandoned mineshaft along the digging process. I explored the mineshaft a bit and discovered that there are multiple cave spider spawner close to each other. I'm not sure if I would want to build a multiple cave spider spawner exp farm soon though. My goals for now is to have a good looking cabin as a base in this taiga biome.

Seriously? Nine spawners almost that near to each other? I never experienced that before. You could make minigames out of those spawners.

Also, are you in moody brightness? I felt that your base could be infiltrated by mobs in unsuspecting corners.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention. The mining sector is actually taking too long to be finished because I was thinking of building something similar to a cement kiln/factory. I could have finished this already but I wanted to use redstone to make it look really functional.

The mineshaft would eventually look similar to modern day tunnels but that would be subject to change.

Yep, you completely know my struggle. Actually, in my old world where there's no such thing as automations, I never run out of resources because I have a lot of time collecting resources than building stuff. In this world though, I never run out of projects in mind but I always find myself lacking in resources. I'm not tired of my world yet, it's just that I don't have enough time for playing games.

The only time I gather resources in bulk is when I finish a major construction project. Nowadays, I find it hard to collect stone related blocks lol. I'm completely fine with my inventories of other resources such as minerals, lumber, and food, but not with stone. I gather cobblestone from my cobblestone generator though that thing doesn't produce cobblestone fast enough. I don't know why but I don't want to mine stone from my own mineshaft (maybe because I'm planning on digging a new one haha).

Anyways, I love planning my builds. Sure, you have to be open in changes and everything because that is actually part of it. Because of planning, I tend to be creative in ideas and that is what drives me to be stuck in this world. I was even planning on making a second base near the ocean temple I found given that I finish everything that needs to be done in my current base.

Two years?! That's a long time to have a world! Since you haven't even beaten the old enderdragon before, the 1.9 will be a monster...

Oh yes it will. I was actually saving the end exploration for 1.9 since it had new features. I might even end up dying a lot because of the new combat system and my natural regen set to false.

Oh my gosh!!! this is AMAZING!!!! you just gave me awesome ideas for me to build a city. i have been bored in minecraft for a while now-i mainly just play with my friend and mess around on realms-but now i'm going to build a city!!

Glad to inspire someone :D. I was planning to finish this base this year but my supplies and resources always run out. Building a city would really take time and patience.

I have to admit, I have reached end game. To think that I have finally felt that my world is too grindy.

This world stayed strong for 2 years and yet I still haven't killed the enderdragon (I'm saving that for 1.9). I have so many ambitious projects yet I don't have resources. The following days were spent by cutting wood, mining stone, and farming. I did not collect stone in my mines though. I had to use my cobblestone generator because sooner or later, the whole underground would an empty hollow space.

Just a bit of an update, I did finish the perimeter wall and that's it. I failed miserably in making a villager breeder. Lastly, I'm still collecting resources for my new mining setup (which will be redstone heavy) up to this day.

And that's what I did recently.

Okay so where was I? Oh of course. Remember this grotto I've shown you earlier? That area used to be my fishing grounds. However, everything changed when my inspirations attacked. You see, I didn't turn off the natural regen for UHC sort of reasons. I turned it off so that I'll have a legit excuse for building a fountain of life (like the ones in DOTA/Warcraft series). I had to get wither skulls again so that I could craft another beacon.

Heck I can even make a folklore/legend about this grotto. If I continued my story about my battle against the evil of the nights, it would go like this

Nothing has changed since I finally arrived along with the rest of the members of the old guild. As we have reached our docks safely, my minions in this base happily greeted my guild comrades like brothers and sisters. The trip was long and most of us were very tired.

It was one cool afternoon when I decided to visit the old sacred lake. Ah, I remember that lake. I didn't know it was inhabited by a deity until I fished out a weird looking lyre. The structure of the musical instrument was very similar to that of a long bow. I was glad enough that I had a bow strong enough to pierce an ender dragon. I also fished out an enchanted tome and another weaker (bow) lyre.

Ah, I'm talking to myself again. Well to be brief, She got angry at me and demanded that I give her the lyre that I presumably stole from her. So how did I get to keep the lyre? Her lake was infested by the same monsters who are currently waging a war against me. She didn't like their presence but she didn't have much power to sweep them off. Coincidentally, My first house was near the lake and I didn't want any attacks coming from the lake so I aided her in an attempt to exterminate all of them. After the attacks, She appreciates my bravery in fighting them and so she rewards me the lyre at the end.

That's the backstory, though I didn't visit the lake just to reminisce the past. I went there to ask for advice from the lady of the lake. I know sometimes that we weren't on good terms lately but the enemy's' force are continuously growing. Also, I think it was a long time since I talked to her. The only time I saw her presence was in a form of a squid.

I grabbed my fishing rod and tried my luck if I could poke at her once again. Unsuccessfully, all I fished out were a bunch of salmons and pufferfishes. Now now, why would I try to communicate to her using a fishing rod? Because that was the only time I got her to show herself to me.

After an hour or so, I had no luck summoning her. After thinking for some time, I brought out the song of the lake goddess. Maybe if I played a tune from this lyre, she would appear in front of me. I trickled the strings and it made a soothingly pleasant sound. I trickled it again until I can't stop playing the tune. Actually, I don't think I was the one playing the tune but it was the lyre itself! The lyre soon finishes the tune and at the same time, the lake blistered a shining light bright enough to blind a person.

There she was standing after the lights have faded. I thought She would be some kind of a hot chick but she turned out to be ugly. She was freaking Medusa?

"I heard that. Tell me that I'm ugly and I'll make you eat arrows" She says with a chilling voice. Of course, I was a bit scared of her and started respecting her out of fear. While I was bowing my head in front of her, I proceeded to ask if she can help me fight evil. Unfortunately, She can't leave the lake because She is its guardian.

"Although I can't help you in the battlefield, I can help you in another way." She says while giving me a cold stare. After she spoke to me, I felt a surge of magical energy leaking from the lake itself. I then found myself looking at a cauldron filled with pure water in it and a small fountain not too far from the cauldron. She then explains "I will let you and your friends drink from the sacred waters of this lake provided that you pay me a piece of a golden nugget every time you want to take a sip. The holy water will rejuvenate your bodies from any harm, illness, and injuries that you have received in battle" .

"This is the last of the gifts that I have given to you. Use it well."

And that's the end of another backstory of one of my builds. Now let's go to the technical stuffs.

A little information on how I built this. The medusa statue was from a design I borrowed from TheEvilSketch. This youtuber is awesome in making statues and I felt like incorporating his designs yet again in one of my projects. You might have remembered the portal shrine where you offer a sufficient amount of rotten corpse in front of a sitting buddha statue correct? I used the same concept (but not the same mechanism, although they do work similar) of a religious offertory ceremony to a deity kind of idea.

To start off, here's the cauldron stated by the story.

First things first, if you want to start healing yourself, chuck in a single piece of gold nugget and you're good to go. If you want to do more roleplay, you could chuck in a gold nugget, grab an empty bottle, and drink the water that you took from the cauldron.

That over there is the fountain/well supposedly. I'd like to think that the well supplies the water in the cauldron in a magical manner. The well supplies energy that regenerates nearby player's health and also increases their resistance.

This here is responsible for all the "magical and sacred" works that come from the well:

The redstone mechanics is slightly similar to the portal shrine and the charcoal burning plant. Although this redstone design has around 2 minutes worth of delay. I think the redstone is easy enough to understand and build since the only thing that is different in here is the delaying circuit I made using 4 ticks repeaters and comparators.

This idea wouldn't have materialized if I hadn't turned off my natural regen. I could provide a tutorial for the redstone works if you're interested.

Next project for me to start would be the batching plant, stone kiln, and a new mining setup.

It's been a while since I posted. Anyway, Here's a bit of tours and updates on my world.

So let's start off with me discovering that baby zombies are so short, they can't tickle me when I'm riding a horse.

Haha, cool is isn't it? They're like "can I ride horsie next?".

Okay intros over. The remaining sections of the lumber mill compound are nothing new I guess. I'm going to re-upload another download file soon so go do the exploring yourself. I'll just explain the mechanics.

I'll start with a simple sapling/giant mushroom farm. Note that I used podzol that I got from a tundra biome a little far north from my base, so don't try to pick that without using silk touch tools. Supposedly, I built this thing to gather enough acacia saplings (I don't need to farm oak, birch, or spruce saplings anymore because I already have a decent supply of those. I'd be wasting jungle tree saplings if I plant them here). Since the dirt block is a podzol block, I can plant giant mushrooms here as well. I would harvest the mushroom blocks using silk touch tools so that I could use them for decorative purposes in the near future.

The dark oak farm. Yep, nothing special here.Let's move on.

Giant tree farm with spruce and jungle trees.

Here's the oil derrick/transmission tower looking thingys I said earlier. If you fed the charcoal furnace, these towers will launch fireworks up in the sky one time only. I got the idea of putting these when I thought that fireworks would theoretically act as some form of electrical surge coming from these towers.

I bet you already know how this one works. Feed the charcoal furnace, the satellite/reactor thingy releases a concentrated amount of energy for a given amount of time. The duration of the release depends on how many wood fuel have you chucked in the furnace.

This is the charcoal depot. At first I thought I would be building something larger than this. But then again, where would I need a bunch of charcoal?

Here is the compact storage with a capacity check indicator. I made my own smaller design after seeing a tutorial from xisumavoid.

This here is a crafting station. Because of the limited space, I had to make it simpler compared to the hidden crafting benches that I saw from MumboJumbo and Etho.

So that's it for the mini-tour. In other news, I decided to build a cocoa bean farm right next to the compound. It really looks out of place honestly, though I don't want to remove it anymore. I was only interested in building one after seeing how Monkeyfarm built an efficient farm himself.

Other than that, I've been doing a lot of earthworks/landfilling. You see, this area used to be flooded. To expand my building space, I had to fill in the lake which used to be right under the cocoa bean farm. Heck, I am already filling out the caves underneath because it makes me paranoid to know that a void space is present at around 8 block underneath the tree farms. It gives me the feeling that the ground that I'm supposed to build on to is unstable.

What I'm working right now is the remaining perimeter walls for the compound. It still has a long way to go before I can say it is finished.

My latest work that I have finished is the lake grotto dedicated to the lady of the lake. I'll explain the technical stuff as well as some lame folklore as to why I have that on my world. For now here's a preview.

    That's it for now.

This concept sounds fun! And so, I took several screenshots of my world before/after its transformations.
    Spawn

    Plains

    Main Base

    Base extension

    Some environmental damages
Forest fire caused by a lava lake
An area at the east direction. Most of the forests that bounds my base are roofed forests. Dark oak trees are so dense, you can't see the ground from above.
After the fires were put out sometime, a few mysterious glows with no known direct source are seen glittering near the crater.
This is the forested area seen in the second part. I take no responsibilities in this sort of deforestation. It might have been caused by multiple lightning strikes as far as I can tell. This was actually my first time in seeing a massive destruction of the environment caused by naturl occurrence.

    Lastly, The Underground

I tried to match the pictures from where I took them so I apologize if I took some shots at bad angles.
