    There are mods for that:

Man, you are my freaking savior. English is not my native language and sometimes i forget some things. This time, i forgot the freaking name of the selection box, lol.

    Thank you very much, man!

Hey guys, i've been playing survival and i was wondering if there was any mod or tweak i could do to make the block selection box easier to see. You know, the black borders that appear on blocks when you point at them.

Do you know of any mod or tweak to change that?

I uploaded an image for you guys to see. It's the black border like that means the diorite block in the center is the one i'm selecting.

Zombies could be useful if you want leather, but only if you have the rotten flesh to leather mod. Spiders not unless you want lots of spider eyes/wool (string). I found its harder to make a spider xp farm as well, but it could just me.

Well, the only mods i use are Optifine, X-Ray for finding the spawners or watch my silme farms (I don't look for ores with it) and VoxelMap just for the waypoints. Changing rotten flesh to leather feels like cheating to me, lol.

Well, i guess i'll just make the skeleton grinder and then i'll have to find a witch hut and work with that to get spider eyes + glowstone out of it. It's gonna be one hell of a job... lol.

I'm playing survival, and i just wanna know: Should i care about some dungeons more than others?

For example, i know you can farm mob drops once you find a dungeon, but, should i make a farm for every type of dungeon? I already like to find and make skeleton farms due to the infinte arrows source + some XP. But are there any usefulness for the other types (Spiders and Zombies)?

posted a message on Storage room design or schematics?
    Quote from Mr_N_Derman»

Yeah, after trying few diff designs, I liked the idea of having everything handy, which is why I use the chests on end with alternating normal and trapped chests to maximize space. My last two bases have had the storage area as the base centre, with off-shoot rooms for brewing, enchanting, portal and armoury, so all the main components are close together. The design I posted above was actually an enlarged version of my previous design (see below) - I originally was going to try something else, but I like the design so much I recreated it, but slightly expanded. Although I'm a bit of a hoarder when playing, my philosophy based on my early experience is its better to have too much space than not enough.

Yeah, i'm not much a hoarder either. It's not like i'm going to be building huge castles or anything, but still, if i plan to, i just gather the materials i'll need. I do plan to keep my wools, stained glass, colored sand and dyes on a separate place, as they are merely for decoration, but it'll depend on the layout of the main storage area.

I've been thinking about doing different floors, maybe keeping the crafting ingrediantes closer to crafting area and the rest of the stuff on the other floors. I got the idea in my mind so i can't elaborate much, but i hope it'll look pretty cool.

    Current:

I kinda like that design. I was thinking about making a crafting/storage room. Nothing fancy, just a place that looks good, has a workbench, brewing, cauldron, water, etc. right on the center, with all the chests around it so i can look for ingredients quickly and effectively. I really don't need a massive think. I mostly do small projects and if i need more of a resource, then i just get it as i need it.

the only stuff i really need mor space for (no more than 2 double chests) is Cobblestone, Stone and Stone bricks. Other stuff like wood i just save the raw wood and turn it to planks when needed. Saves space. :D

Hey guys, i was wondering if anyone had any schematics or know where i can find some for storage rooms?

I'm a mess when it comes to design anything, no creativity at all.

    Thanks.

posted a message on No slimes spawning in "slime chunk"

I actually found out that (i don't know why) the app gave me wrong info. I used my seed to find the chunks, i didn't use my level.dat file. Why? well, because whenever i tried to upload the file, it gave me an error, so i figured i could use the seed instead and it'd all be fine, but it wasn't.

I've come to think that i wasn't able to upload the file because i was using forge+liteloader with Voxelmap. Once i opened the same map in vanilla mode, i tried to upload the level.dat file again and it worked, so it gave me the right chunks.

Also, i think that the fact that i customized my map so there would be no ravines (They are more of a nuissance to me) had something to do with the app giving me wrong info.

Still, it's all solved now. Chose a good chunk, used Jack o'lanterns instead of glowstone, made a waiting room blocks away from the place and everything works fine now. I'm getting some slimes spawning there. I might have to reposition the waiting room, but at least i got the slime balls i needed. I also started to light up quite a bit of caves nearby as much as i could. The farm is at Y=20, by the way.

    Thanks a lot, guys.

posted a message on No slimes spawning in "slime chunk"

Hey guys, i've been trying to make a Slime Farm for my SSP world, so i used the Chunkbase.com app to find slime chunks, but no slimes spawn on any of the chunks i've tried. I've triend on 3 of them, verified that it is the right chunk, made a 16x16x4 room for them to spawn, lit the place well enough with glowstone, waited for half an hour 30 blocks away from the place but nothing will spawn there...

any idea of what's going on? They do spawn on flat world in creative, but none are spawning in SSP... i even have a copy of my world in creative mode to test faster, but still no spawns...

    Any solution?

posted a message on Any way to remove render distance fog?

Hey people, i've been trying to find a mod that removes the distance view fog completely. I don't want to use optifine, so i was hoping i could find a mod that does only that. Is there any?

posted a message on Resolution option on launcher question

Hey guys, i have this question. I know there's a resolution setting on the "edit profile" section of the launcher. what i want to know is:

-If i leave it untouched, with no check mark on it, is the default resolution still 854x480 or it "adapts" to my monitor's resolution? What if i maximize the window? does the resolution increases as well, reducing performance?

-If i set the resolution to 854x480 by checkking the option and maximize the window, is it still 854x480 resolution but maximized or does it increase?

    thanks guys beforehand!

posted a message on Fresh install not loading any blocks...
    Hello there people!

It's been a long time since i last played minecraft and when i finally decided to download it and start playing again, i find myself with a glitch/bug that renders my game unplayable....

It happened immedately after installing the game, i created my first world and boom! no blocks whatsoever... they're freaking invisible... ]It loos like this:

It doesn't matter which direction i'm facing, it all looks the same... i've tried every video setting with no luck, installed 64-bit java and reset my computer, did a fresh install of the game twice with no luck. My video drivers are up to date. I don't know what to do...

    My system specs are:

    Windows 8.1
    Core i5 3570 @4.4 Ghz
8Gb Ram Corsair Vengeance LP (2x4Gb)
    XFX HD7870 Ghz Edition

I'd appreciate any help or solution to this...

posted a message on Minecraft stuck on Loading world Converting world
Are you using risu's Modloader and Forge API altogether? 'cause i had the exact same problem, stuck on the dirrt screen, getting the "disconnected from server" error, couldn't play for 20 seconds. Then i removed modloader and left Forge and my mods and everything's okay now! before doing that, check if modloader is strictly necessary for any of the mods u're using, if not, remove it without problem and use Forge API instead.

Also, a nice recommendation is to use Magic Launcher to organize your mods and install them without messing with the main failes of your minecraft. You can get it HERE.
