Hey Sp614x i have a weird problem in Multi-Core Chunking, whenver i hit a block, flower or anything i get a 1 second stutter although this stuttering goes away in Default and Smooth Chunking but the game Renders So slow Mutli-Core makes Rendering Much faster ..help please? got Ati 7770 with Phenom x3 8650
i am having a weird problem since i got my ati 7770..the chunk loading is much much slower?! i had an old ati 3200 and chunk loading was much faster than now? o_O
two weeks ago i bought ATi 7770 Vapor-X,at first i played MC with ATi 3200 it's pretty old with Phenom X3 8650 First phenom generation and it sucks anyways i could play it with Fancy settings and on Normal distance i was happy with it but when i got my ATi 7770 the GPU was bottlenecked and remained same my problem is with the ATi 7770..the chunk loading is much much MUCH MUCH! slower and also i got new power supply that i could even OC my CPU to 2.7ghz at first it was 2.5GHZ so i just don't know if it's due to bottlenecking so it causes slower chunk loading or is it a problem in game?
BTW! the game runs smoothly with no hiccups i get steady 48-53 in heavy jungles and steady 55-60 when in normal open land so i think i should get a fast chunk loading
Very true. I haven't heard of a single game where you can allocate more memory, so nobody does it. However because it's possible in Minecraft, somehow some people who should've known better spread the word that it gives you a large performance boost, which is simply not true. The fact that Minecraft uses 2GB of memory when you allocate 2GB doesn't mean it needs 2GB. By allocating more memory the JVM will simply wait longer before starting the garbage collector, which will clean up any memory data that is no longer used (ie. chunk data of chunks that have been unloaded). Because of that it may look like more memory is used, but there's simply more memory occupied by 'garbage data' so to say.
The Cake(Memory Allocation) Is The Lie! thank you for this Super Technical Explanation
ah well to the people who say allocation problem..for me the 4GB just helps in a little of loading the world faster and loading of level faster
and @Flutterwy.. First Generation Phenom Sucks A** and i really hate my processor but what can i do? i got no budget currently so i am just trying to live with screen flickers and **** due to it's low power and bottlenecking in games
well there is no downgrade in performance with normal allocation so allocating more is a little useless to me and i cannot overclock it 3ghz
I BARELY got to 2.7GHZ..BARELY! and yes i ccleaner to clean every single bit in my pc even registry
well recently i brought ATi 7770 Vapor-X and i was jumping from happines so i pumped 4GB into Minecraft..Ready My CPU..and when i launch it...o_o i still have 20fps with optifine on Far? how the ****! at first i thought it would be GPU that isn't capable of minecraft but i found out it can max the hell out of Minecraft so my next guess is the CPU considering i got a very old processor,it's Phenom 8650 X3 2.3GHZ,2.7GHZ OC
so i don't really know if i am right or not? so please any help? ;(
Optifine usually takes quite a while to be updated, and for a big patch like 1.3 I guess it'll take some time.
1.3 comes out->Minecraft Coder Pack (on which Optifine development depends) needs to be updated to 1.3->Optifine can start the update-process for 1.3.
That's how it goes every time. If I were you, I'd keep Minecraft on 1.2.5 until Optifine is ready if you think it's necessary.
i am just afraid from the new 1.3 update :(..it's going to increase Stress..i just hope optifine is up to it and i HOPE 1.3 doesn't increase pressure on our poor hardwares ;(..stupid multiplayer
i wanted to ask if Dynamic Updates is really helpful because i tried on and off and i see no difference except when on,on debug screen it it shows that it loads 2x the amount when off although i see no difference when running or in FPS
Well Ty guys for all this...hard work comments i guess it's 7850 then :),i have two choices..a Sapphire Overclocked edition 920MHZ or Gigabyte Windforce 2xFans with 975mhz but actually i read that most of GB's GPU'S are bad made..so what should i choice? and YES those are the only OC's editions in Egpyt's Markets right now
