I understand what all of you are saying, but I don't want to feel obligated to change my game in order to enjoy it. (I also can't download mods, I have no money so I play on a MacBook Pro. And please don't say optifine.)
I could learn Redstone, but that's not pure fun the way exploring a new generated structure or dimension, I already know abandoned mines and the nether. I still enjoy and play it when I have a chance, but it is not the same.
I agree that Minecraft servers are very ... blah. If it is not Hunger Games then it is completely destroyed survival worlds that look like a tornado hit it. About something B I G in survival, the last big thing was the Wither, and not even that. I went to Minecon 2013, and the only future thing they talked about was the mod API, but that was in the far future.
I think what you are feeling is something that you have put a lot of time into minecraft, and you need kind of a justification, because you are invested. Remember, none of us are ever obligated to play.
Day 2 of Minecon. My friend wants to go to the CS M&G, right.
He had to get in line 5 hours before it started.
I spent most of my time at Minecon waiting in lines. Waiting for hours for a 40-minute panel. Waiting in line for food. Waiting in line to go into the exhibit hall. Waiting and waiting for very little content.
The line for the opening ceremonies formed 6 hours before it started.
Yes, I've been to other conventions. I've been to DragonCon, where the lines are just a bit more insane. But that's reasonable. That's 20000 people. This was 7500.
I'm not saying that I didn't enjoy Minecon. It was incredible and Notch walked by me. It was amazing.
It just needed a little more help.
Also, I felt that more than half of the people there had never played Minecraft. It was a little 5 year old boy with both his parents and his grandparents that had never played Minecraft. That's 4 tickets that could have been given to fans.
I'm not saying that the little boy didn't deserve to go, right. He was as much of a fan, and you can't prevent people from buying tickets for their parents.
This was funny, I was looking at the 3d printing machines in the Exhibit Hall, right. Then I hear some sort of loud roar made by a bunch of people.
And there was a man, about 23 years, old, being literally chased at top speed by a pack of (no joke) 150 children.
And that was the only time I ever felt bad or had any sympathy for SkyDoesMinecraft.
Note: I am a female. I'm not a guy looking to hook up.
So, being a girl, going to Minecon, I was wondering what the ratio of women to men is. I've been to a couple other "nerdy" conventions like DragonCon, and I always felt awkward. I'm not going to cosplay, and all the girls are really saw are what I call "bikini armor" warriors.
So I was just wondering how many girls are going, I just want to know if I will be the odd one out.
Also, If anyone has been to Minecon 2012 of 2011, what was the ratio there, and also the general attitude from men to women?
Iron armour, because I always feel bad about using my precious diamonds for armor. I have a nearly endless supply of iron, and with a few enchants it is stronger than non-enchant diamond!
Diamond if I have tons of spare.
Only gold if something like I'm one short for iron boots but I have enough gold.
Edge of the plains next to a small forest. Looking toward the forest, a jungle on my right, taiga on my left, back and right is desert, and a huge plains behind me. Also like diamonds right below spawn.
I think most of the "big" Youtubers and community people.
I hope that some of the "smaller" people, like RageGaming and Bodil40, get to go.
I think that Mojang will have contacted the really big guys (like SkyDoesMinecraft (and Team Crafted), CaptainSparklez, Yogscast, etc.) before to make sure that they have tickets.
I AM SO SAD I WAS CRYING ALL DAY CAUSE IT WAS THE LAST BATCH AND I DIDENT GET I GET ANY TICKETS DARNET I FINALLY HAD THE CHANCE TO GO BECAUSE I LIVE IN GEORGIA AND NOW I HAVE TO WAIT PROBLY YEARS TO HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE
Hey dude, I live in Georgia also and I'm going. I'm really sorry that you didn't get tickets, but look at it this way. Watching the videos means you get to see everything, from a better viewpoint, and at your house. While you might not get to meet people, I still think that you will be able to experience it.
they should seriously do atlanta, it's got lots of transportation options with the world's busiest airport, has mild and warm weather all year round, it's got plenty of nice hotels/convention centers, but most importantly of all, i live there.

Just venting a bit, still had a great time.

No, that's not true. This is a beautiful classically Minecraft seed, and actually looks good.
Nice find!

Diamond if I have tons of spare.
Only gold if something like I'm one short for iron boots but I have enough gold.
Leather if I want to dye it and be colourful.
