I think a good majority of the Minecraft PC modders have programmed or do program professionally. Also, "professional" is a vague term. It may refer to someone who has been payed/earned money for their work in a specific field/industry or it could mean in this case, someone who writes code by coding standards such as Oracle's Java coding standards.
This topic also does not belong in this section as it is not about Minecraft Pocket Edition.
I'm stuck with using XNA unfortunately, but it gets the job done.
