Sep 4, 2014MinecraftTeachr posted a message on Frustrated over district server/firewall for use with minecrafteduAre you definitely using MinecraftEdu from the MCEdu Launcher? If so, make sure you're choosing "MinecraftEdu" Login mode. You won't need to use a Mojang account. It should avoid most firewall issues. But if that doesn't work, your network might have some particularly restrictive rules for internal traffic.Posted in: Server Support

Feb 16, 2014Hi Jeremy!Posted in: Mods Discussion
In theory, Galactcraft should work if you are using compatible versions of the mod, MCEdu, and Forge (which as you note is built in... but make sure the version of GC you downloaded works with it).
One possible problem may be that you need to turn on "Allow Nether & End" in order for the GC dimensions. I know you need to do that to access Mystcraft dimensions... GC might be the same.
Oh and you probably know about it already, but if that doesn't work, here's a good place to ask for more help:

Honest question: has any other mod mad simple server-to-server teleporters work in Forge. (I know there are some solutions in bukkit land...)Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Dec 13, 2013MinecraftTeachr posted a message on qCraft: Quantum Physics Meets Minecraft [1.2.2] Now with bigger quantum structures [2016-10-01]Thought I'd kick a bit of new life into this thread and let you know that there is a great new qCraft update coming next week! The plan is to have a new version available for download on Monday!Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Dan200 and others have been hard at work exploring the limitless potential of quantum physics in the within Minecraft. And there has been a scientific breakthrough! I don't want to ruin the surprise just yet. But to prepare yourself, you might want to read up on the Many Worlds Interpretation of quantum physics...
Check back here on Monday!
Nov 25, 2013Great job, Ayden! I love that kids are playing around with quantum physics. I fully expect Ayden to revolutionize the scientific community when he gets a bit older.Posted in: Let's Plays
And, it looks like the official qCraft account noticed this, too: https://twitter.com/qCraftMod/status/405071335878950913

is this ever gonna be 1.6.4?
Yes, it will.

Interesting, but can I attempt the Schrödinger's cat experiment?
Yes, you can.

What confuses me about this mod is what happens when two players look at an observer-dependent block, each from a different angle? Also, if it would, for instance, turn into a stone block for one player and a wood block for the other, and the wood was set on fire, what would happen?
Excellent question! In SMP qCraft, blocks only change when NO ONE is looking at them. Meaning they need to be truly unobserved before returning to a superpositional state.

I think this mod is fantastic. In addition to pure fun one can have with it, its educational value (as it has been stated in the OP) is huge. Just one question--any particular reason for making it for 1.5.2 only? As far as I know, there is a 1.6.4 build of MinecraftEdu.
Would love to play with it in 1.6.4.
We designed this for 1.5.2 so it could be included in the current popular modpacks. Namely, FTB Unleashed, Tekkit, and Hexxit. A 1.6.4 version is most probably coming in the near future.

Well... it doesn't seem like a very good mod if you don't tell us how the heck we use the mod or what it even does?
We initially wanted to keep a bit of mystery and allow people the change to discover our features on their own. But we have just added full instructions, crafting recipes, and more to our wiki.
We even included blueprints for building a Quantum Teleporter. Wait. What, what, what???

qCraftQuantum Physics Meets MinecraftDownloads, information, forums, wiki, and more at:
qCraft is a mod that brings the principles of quantum physics to the world of Minecraft.
We’ve done our best to create something that we hope will be fun to experiment, build and play with while also introducing players to the fascinating and (in the context of the macro-world we inhabit) counter intuitive way that quantum entities interact.
qCraft is not a simulation of quantum physics (this is v1.1 after all) but it does provide ‘analogies’ that attempt to show how quantum behaviors are different from everyday experience. In addition to individual players, we hope that parents and educators who want to introduce quantum physics concepts to curious kids will find it useful.

- Blocks that change from one type to another
- Entangled blocks that stay linked across any distance
- Ability to "quantize" an area, saving all nearby blocks as data. These blocks can then be "de-quantized" in a new location. Effectively allows the copy/pasting of an area.
- Ability to create portals from one location on a server to another.
- Ability to create portals from one server to another. (!!!)

- Observer Dependent Block
- Quantum Block
- Entagled Block
- Quantum Goggles
- Quantum Computer
