Oh, sweet, an update. I'll let you know how it goes, but I have the same question as Nukularpower (I'm working on a kinda adventure-y map with a twilight forest section, haven't done anything significant in there but did explore a bit), and I'd rather not have it all messed up, aha. I'll try to work it out on my own as I normally do, but it'd be cool to let others know/have a word from you on it/save some time.

In terms of the version I'm playing (1.9.0), little more to say than I haven't already but that I'm still getting massive enjoyment out of it, and in wanting to have a lich tower of my own, I realised I could just copy the structure with worldedit (replacing the spawners with other blocks to prevent a schematic save bug and replacing the silverfish stone with regular stone), so I'm happy there, and am currently setting one up as a home. It's a real handyman's delight (the undead show a startling lack of appreciation for proper staircase maintenance), but this is minecraft so my usual disdain for anything resembling work doesn't apply!

There was one other thing, perhaps in future, either removing the nether-ish sounds from the portal or replacing them with something else would make the portal fit better with the twilight forest as a whole (having a relatively peaceful overworld). Maybe it's just because I find the regular portal sounds really, really irritating though.

Can't wait to try out the new features, so I'mma head off and do that in a new world, thanks again for making such a wonderful mod.

    Delete the META-INF folder.

If that doesn't fix it/you already have, make sure you do it in the right order, Modloader, Forge, then Twilight Forest, Shouldn't need Audio mod, but if you do install it, install it between forge and twilight forest (doesn't make a real difference as far as I know, but generally audiomod should be installed early on).

I actually use MagicLauncher (or MCPatcher) rather than doing it manually, but yeah.

Definitely works with TMI. Generally it's a pretty popular mod and therefore if things aren't compatible with it, they'll normally mention so, or there will be posts mentioning it. Zombe's fly mod, according to his past updates list, was made compatible with SPC at some point a while ago (and if it's not, SPC has its own fly command).

I looked into the MLP mods for you (not my thing, but I have some free time) - Mine Little Brony doesn't touch anything important so it shouldn't conflict, and as for Mine little Pony, it depends on the version you're using (i.e. if you're using the non-modloader version it should be fine, if you're using the other one, apparently it's got major compatibility issues with most things so you should use the other one instead).

It's less of a shouldn't and more of a "you don't have to" (though I still don't quite get the point of forge making a modloader when modloader exists already anyway)

    Quote from Falconfan

IF YOU HAVE A BEAST COMPUTER DONT GET! I GOT 982 FPS max w/out this and it brings it down to 580 on same settings! also when i put on fast debug screen it brought fps down to 300... It seems it is working in reverse... only reason i got it is so i can record stuff on the same harddrive by slowing down save time.
EDIT:if i raise mipmap it doubles fps..

The whole yelling at others not to touch something when it's just not working for you when you haven't tried much in the way of figuring out the issue and the vast majority of people see a sizeable improvement is getting a little tired.

Hah, I've never even seen 300fps, let alone 982fps, and I'm pretty sure there is actually no discernible difference (from a human standpoint viewing it) between the two unless you have a monitor from the future as well as superhuman eyesight (could be wrong, but I did a bit of googling of the topic to confirm it and generally that seems to be the case). That said, it doing basically the opposite of what it should is very, very odd, do check all the settings, try re-downloading and reinstalling (preferrably with a fresh .jar file), and then try another version.

If you're using a beast computer though, given that'd imply multiple cores, if you aren't already, try the multithreaded version.

3.2.4 also causes issues with optifine apparently, so perhaps it's to do with that.

I just came across a second lich king and naga in the same game, 4 bosses total, all in separate tower structures/walled gardens. I'm guessing that isn't supposed to happen (especially as you'd then be able to use the draining item against later lich kings if you got it from a previous one, as it hits through his shields.) Though, perhaps I'm wrong as I have just come accross three more so yeah - then the issue is the life draining sceptre makes things too easy.

I fought the lich king a little more legitimately this time (i.e. he could actually damage me this time, and I took his shields down the proper way), and yeah, it's nicely done, though I'd still like the orbs to move a little quicker.

It would also be cool if killing the lich king made the tower stop spawning mobs. It'd be cool to be able to wipe out all the remaining mobs, and then steal his tower to use as a house. I mean, you're going to steal all his belongings and everything else, and it seems such a shame to leave the tower there to rot!

Also, one of the biomes is named "Twilight Forest Varient", which I'm assuming should be variant (meaning "alternate version, rather than a rather obscure but related term that I can't be bothered explaining :3)

Oh yeah, one more thing (and feel free to tell me to shut up with the suggestions, haha, I'm pretty sure from how polished this mod is that you really don't need them), perhaps use the 99:15/100:15 blocks when you have mushrooms branching, as they have the stalk texture on all sides. Oh also, a glacier biome themed boss (obviously, not on (or in?) every glacier) would be really cool to see...

Looks to me like you've installed it twice (once in the JAR and once in the mod folder or something?), which is causing a conflict between the two.

Also, there's no need for forge modloader while you're checking for errors like this. I'm assuming that isn't installed twice and it's just how it shows up, but yeah.

This is quite nice. Mainly using it for the enchantment menu. There is one suggestion I'd make, and that is being able to type the enchantment levels rather than having to press each button 127 times to get it to the maximum level you can have before it crashes the game (a limit there might be a good idea, haha).

So, I have a problem. I am using the latest version of Optifine Smooth, and I keep getting this bug where the chunks are transparent. It's really annoying, as I'm trying to build but this keeps getting in my way. Do you know what causes it/how to fix it?

Try different versions, settings, and orders of install for your mods. Worked for me in the end. Generally, always install optifine last so it installs over everything else.

Anyway, there's a little conflict with this and SinglePlayerCommands' Freecam command, crashes.
I'm using windows 7, minecraft 1.2.5 with magiclauncher, and modloader, SPC, and optifine MT B2 are the only mods used for this. My java version is slightly out of date, but this is neccessary: newer versions cause my game to pause whenever I use my laptop's touchpad scrollbar.
Basically, just install those, use the freecam command (open chat and type "freecam") and then this:

I am not 100% sure why SPC and Optifine aren't in that mod list but I have no clue about this stuff, but yeah, it's just modloader, SPC, and optifine multithreaded B2 on vanilla 1.2.5, and they're all definitely working, hahah.

@Morpheas: Also probably worth mentioning that the Multithreaded version generally provides a huge performance boost to multi-core computers (i.e. everything "High-End"), especially if the individual cores on say, a Quad Core, aren't running extremely fast themselves.

Hm, while I was trying to reproduce a crash I get when running through areas that are rendering (and therefore cutting my FPS) with the debug screen up, doing the same thing on a more minimal setup than I usually use gave me a slightly different error, but it caught my eye (hey, two exclamation marks, come on): "java.lang.RuntimeException: Already decorating!!"

I gave it a cursory google and I found stuff about bad seeds in 1.2.4, but I'm using 1.2.5, so I dunno.

I'll see if I can reproduce the error I was trying to reproduce as I get it a lot (I suspect it could be related to optifine somehow, usually the error it is (nullpointerexception, IIRC) is related to OF (though, the massive performance increase it offers me outweighs that stuff easily), and include that here too but yeah.
EDIT: Done, got that too, from doing the exact same thing again. NullpointerException. Could be optifine's fault, but it's hard to run through the twilight forest without it on my laptop, ahah.

Anyway, logs, details inside on both.

EDIT 2: Seems to be related to optifine, can't seem to reproduce it without OF installed.

    Mods Running (in install order):
GUIApi (I get the same error without it installed, too).
    Modloader
    Forge
    Twilight Forest
SinglePlayerCommands (Movement speed set to 2.5, Reach to 70)
    TooManyItems
    Optifine HD Multithreaded B2

Other stuff: Windows 7, java isn't the latest version as v7 causes minecraft to pause if I use my laptop scrollbar. MC is 1.2.5.

What happens: Running along. Roughly the same speed as sprinting, anyway. Have debug screen open. Massive lag as the world renders, shown on the lagometer. After running a while through the lag, the game pauses, the Debug screen disappears, and then the game goes to the crash screen.

Probably been asked, but is it possible to make the killall command work with ID's rather than names, as some mods add mobs with spaces in the name and there doesn't seem to be a way to use killall against them as a result.

Also, this one is probably worth noting: the freecam command conflicts with optifine. The moment you hit freecam, inside your head flashes up for a second, then a single coloured screen, then error.

    Here's the log:

Never thought I'd say this, but I think you've actually convinced me to drop betterthanwolves for my main install and start using forge (though there are a lot of features I miss, haha, and while some forge mods could probably replace them, many of them).

Had some lag issues at first but those seem to have cleared up somewhat, and this mod is just... Amazing. The scope and depth of what you've done is incredible. I absolutely love the look and feel of the twilight forest as a whole, it's actually a lot closer, in terms of the above-ground generation, at least, to how I think minecraft should be, than vanilla, and I can't wait to see where you go from here.

FWIW, I found the mod through Zekocraft (saw the textures in the pack and was like "hey wonder what this mod is".

I fought the lich king pretty early on (I built my house and then looked east and there's a huge tower and I'm like "wow, when did that get there"), and seeing as I am terrible at anything remotely difficult that is in any way "video-game-y", I pretty much cheated through it but I do have some feedback I guess? The difficulty is definitely right IMO, would be interesting if the ender pearls or whatever he shoots moved slightly faster (I mean, there'd still be plenty of time to see them coming even if they were a little faster). One other thing, perhaps a method of beating him that's a bit too easy. You still have to beat him at least once to get it, but the life draining item hits through his shields and allows you to beat him rather easily. I'd prevent the life-draining item from affecting him somehow - or perhaps even have it so it drains your life instead if used on him, him being a powerful lich, you think he'd be prepared just in case someone somehow managed to get hold of an item he's probably very familiar with.

I also just found the naga area in the same game - from the first post I gathered this wasn't possible, but I'm glad it is. Worth mentioning that I hit it with a ridiculously overpowered weapon, and my game crashed with an out of bounds error related to the naga blocks or whatever (first line after outofbounds was "EntityTFNaga-SetSegmentsPerHealth" or the like). Does the overkill fix only cover up to the maximum possible damage using "vanilla-possible" enchants/weapons?

    Oh, one other thing -
    Diamond Hoes.

    Diamond Hoes Everywhere.

Fun to play around with, and it makes dealing with ghasts a lot easier.

One thing though - when I switch to third person view, the bow in my hand is tiny, and off to one side, rather than sitting "in" the hand like weapons and other bows. Not a major complaint but a little off-putting at times, haha. Also, when enchanted with infinity through mods, it still requires arrows in the inventory but doesn't use them, which is a little odd - and it also isn't affected by betterthanwolves infinity arrow texture.

No help for me? :c I mean, usually I can solve stuff like this on my own but I'm totally stumped here :/

    http://www.minecraft...st__p__15202153

Is it just my computer or something, seeing as I've tried everything else?

EDIT: Okay, looks to be one of the mods in my mods folder that's causing it. Guess I'll go clean out the stuff I have MagicLauncher disable, see if that fixes it.

EDIT: Yep. Something in there (I'm assuming one of the forge mods that is disabled by magiclauncher on my usual profile) was causing it, as does BTW. Sorted. And, of course, the latter is fixed by using an pre-forge version of OF. :3

So yeah, love this mod so much - my laptop went from about 16-30FPS (Which is sadly something I'm accustomed to, between using a laptop and having relatively slow internet), up to a range of 47-60fps with the multi-threaded version (seeing as I have a quad core and each core isn't all that fast, it makes a MASSIVE difference to rendering times and so on to split stuff off onto another processor). The customization options are fantastic, and aside from teething issues (basically finding the correct settings to avoid any glitches with your setup/mods/texturepack), it's amazing how much smoother the game runs. The BTW/Forge bug is annoying but I hear you're working on that or that it will eventually resolve itself, and in the mean time, no huge performance loss from using an older version.

Awesome work, wish I'd stumbled upon it earlier, would've saved me a lot of creeper deaths.

Hey, I'm getting a bug with held items on HD Texture Packs - they basically look unpatched and buggy - along the "edges" of the item, or whatever it's called that connects the two faces, parts jut out incorrectly.
I'm aware this occurs with betterthanwolves, which I do use, and the appearance is identical to that bug, but even on a completely vanilla install with optifine and nothing else, it still occurs for me. I've tried the Multi Threaded version, the Normal Version, and an older version of the latter, and the AA MT version, all to no avail. It occurs with the latest version of java, as well as java 6 (which I have to use to prevent the game pausing whenever I scroll).
It is perhaps also worth noting that I don't have any issues if I scale a 16x texture up to 32x with no sampling, but on the same items.png, if I have a native 32x item sprite, the 32x sprite will still suffer the bug.

Perhaps related, if I set graphics to fancy, I get invisible water, though setting it to fast and all of optifine's water options to fancy shows it.

I'm using a laptop with windows 7, NVidia GeForce GT 230M, and have enough ram/power to run minecraft (though the MultiThreaded version more than doubles my FPS).

I am sure I've installed it correctly, but for the life of me I cannot figure out what is causing the problem. If logs would help, tell me how and I will provide. I'd really appreciate help though :)

This just happened to me as well - and I also couldn't find anything, however, I did notice it started after updating Java to version 7, from version 6 - and once I redownloaded version 6 and set minecraft to run with that (through MagicLauncher), the issue seems to have stopped.

Here's where you can download the last version of Java 6: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre-6u32-downloads-1594646.html

Though having two versions of java or using an outdated version of it poses security risks as well as apparently causing performance issues (I guess if programs use the older version when they shouldn't), it is the only solution I've found so far.

    I hope this helps.
