1) Your hosting from home. You should not have told us 192.168.1.76. any IP with 192.168.1 is a local IP address, nobody outside of your house can connect to it. Anyone inside your house uses this IP
2) You NEED the authors PERMISSION in order to publicly host a calamity server, he could sue you for copy right infringement.
3) Never EVER turn online-mode to false on a public server, hackers will come on and destroy your server.
Generally Local servers are gonna lag, the author of calamity might not care just because it's not a 24/7 server. If every household at atleast 5MB/s Upload speed it would be fine, but most don't. Anyone could host a small 10 player server with 5MB/s, if you were lucky and had 20MB/s that's the stuff! You could host that from your home. If you have a good PC with about 3GB of ram and a decent processor, you could probably host bukkit.
Generally people don't like locally run servers (due to lag)(servers run out of your home) I've seen some servers where they have a dedicated server right in their house and they have 100MB/s upload speed. (One of the best FTB servers is run locally, it has less lag then any other ftb-server.)
Ok, Just to be sure I white-listed to Ensure that we will only get 10 PLAYERS. We might do multiple rounds so I will update when it is time to re-apply

IGN: MegaMech
I have a very good mic and skype. Very good at strategy, I should do well in calamity
(not an XLR mic, but a one inch jack mic, way better then the average joe)
Please make it so that when you die it DOES place a way point. If you already have a death waypoint it doesn't place another, Which means I got Screwed because I couldn't find where I died. I followed the way point to some random area in the nether.
Add world support, it can't be that hard.
I feel like I have been completely screwed over by your mod. And will be using an older version until the new map has been fixed. I liked your mini-map, until the new update. The point of death way points is so that you can find where you died, I can't find where I died, which deletes the purpose of having your mod.
When Steve trolls, Starring my Minecraft character "MegaMech" and Steve
It's a short 1:35 min vid. Hope you guys enjoy it. It's nothing professional, but it still looks awesome.
It showcases the R3D Craft texpack (Permissions was not given by the owners)
It also showcases me playing Mice on Venus on piano
What happens when Steve trolls? All Heck breaks loose
You can find out more on how I made this clip here:
I have here, a few files to make it easier to quickly start Animating MineCraft.
Everything was created using LightWave 9.0 I am not sure if it will work with newer/older versions.
A lot of the block textures were created using R3D craft (an HD Default tex pack) But it's extremely easy to change all the textures. I did not ask permission from the owner(s) of R3D craft. So use for experimental/educational/personal use only, Or just change all the textures, which is what I assume your going to do.
-Some Blocks (The main ones, grass, stone, dirt, log, plank, leaves, a stair block, Stonebrick)
-A house
-A Chicken (Re-textured and given an evil look)
-An Ocelot
-The player (with a wand)
note: The wand may look like a duplicate from a mod, But I in know way copy'd a mod, I can understand if it looks "Exactly" the same though.
How to calculate the length of a mob in millimeters
If your looking how to find the length highth and width of a mob, I have a simple algorithm.
This algorithm converts Pixels to meters.
1 block == 1 meter cubed
16 pixels == 1 block (length wise)
therefore 16 pixels == 1 meter (length wise)
This Algorithm assumes that one pixel is always the same size, no matter where it is.
P/16=X/1M = The length that your looking for
P=Pixel
Or in other words
Amount of Pixels / 16 (one meter) / 1 (one meter)
if lets say the Ocelots head is 4 pixels in length
We can use 4/16=4
Now 4/1= 0.25 this is 250mm
Just do a simple conversion and move the "." over.
You can find and download all the files I used to make my animation here
Please note that I have removed permission to downloading the files inside the folder "User"
It has my personal skin in it. I would prefer if I kept it to myself. The folder only has images of my skin in it. You do not need this folder. You can easily change the Surfaces
Also the file "When Steve Trolls" isn't shared either. The file "Animation" Is shared, and it's just a small little scene that's setup (Just a base and a stonebrick wall, for rendering tests, w/player)
If you use any of my files, it would be "nice" to include a little credit in the video description.
ex. "Thanks to MegaMech For some stuff." Or whatever.
If you find these files or the information above useful, then
If you don't, well that's okay.
I created this topic to maybe help people get started quicker, and to find some useful information.
I hope this helps someone.
This is an idea I thought up, I thought this might make an interesting [scary] adventure map.
Basically if you've read bone, you know about "Ghost circles" There circles or "bubbles" that if someone walked into they would disappear. They would be teleported into a different "dimension" that would look like the same spot but maybe from an earlier point in time. There's [almost] no way to know where a ghost circle might be.
With minecraft's commandblocks it would be possible to create circles that if you walk into you would get teleported to a different area. (that looks the same) Having these strewn randomly across a map. The players goal would maybe be to figure out what happened, why is this place dead. What happened here? they would have to walk through the map without walking into a ghost circle. If per-chance they did they would be teleported to an area that looked similar but different.
ex. an area had a bunch of tree stumps, if you walked into the ghost circle you might see a previous time when the tree's were fully grown. inside the ghost circle the place might also have a different tinge to what it would look like in real life (using texture packs, maybe different colors of wools would become darker/lighter tinges of stone) (using a potion effect)
other players would know what happened as they see a player randomly disappear. if the player died or not that's beyond them. (using a chat plugin Players outside of ghost circles can't chat with players inside of ghost circles and vise-versa, but players inside ghost circles can talk to any player also in a ghost circle.)
Once a player was in the ghost circle they would have to some how find a way out. Being in a ghost circle would of course, be extremely dangerous. Enemies in the ghost circle might be like 10X stronger or maybe stepping in one could poison you or give you an unwanted potion effect.
ex. Nasea, Speed10, Nightvision (worst case scenario) (But I guess this is only if you want to make your players sick...)
It would almost be a survival map, you might have to risk jumping in a circle searching for food If no food is around in the normal world and your about to die. As a baren waist-land might have once been a lush forest.
Of course there would have to be some way to find the right path, like looking at the landscape, or using a special tool to avoid ghost circles. (Other wise it would be luck, and guessing)
I think this might be a cool idea to see, I would try doing something myself but I don't really have the time.
I hope this might inspire someone, or give someone their own ideas.
It does not matter to me if this becomes a real map or not, I just thought it might be an interesting if not scary map. (of course if it did, or this idea was used to do something similar, I would take a look at it)
What do you guys think of this?
