    What argument are you using to allocate 2.5GB? -Xmx requires positive integer values, so "-Xmx2.5G" won't work, you'd need to change it to "-Xmx2500M" (or "-Xmx2560M" if you want to go by the power-of-2 definitions of megabyte and gigabyte)


    Edit: also, if Quark and Animania interest you, you might not have to jump all the way to 1.12.2. There are 1.10.2 versions of those two mods, so you might see if you can get 1.10.2 working on your system.

    I don't need to check Wikihow to realize that this is a bad idea. This is virtual memory, and most USB sticks are not that fast - some might be faster than mechanical hard drives, but not all, and even those are significantly slower than proper RAM speeds, so this "extra" ram is probably what is sending your performance down the drain.

    I suggest you switch back to allocating actual ram instead, and see how much you really need.

    BTW, what's this about using fast craft in 1.12.2? That mod is only for 1.7.10.

    1. Minimap mods are generally client-only, and should not be enabled on the server, as indicated by this line:

    I think some minimap mods have companion plugins to control which options can be used by the clients, but that's different.


    2. ReiFNSK never released a 1.7.10 version of this minimap mod - looking at the official Rei's Minimap thread, there is no indication of it being open source of having a permissive license to allow others to post updated versions of it, so this is probably an illegitimate version that should not be replaced with one of the other minimap mods, such as JourneyMap, VoxelMap, or Xaero's Minimap.

    Please post (or link a pastebin of) the full crashlog (and possibly fml-client-latest.log). Without that, I doubt anyone will be able to figure out what is causing it. Even specifying what version of Minecraft you're playing would be more than you've provided so far.

    Um... I believe I asked for a crash report in that case, which as far as I can tell you haven't provided yet. Could you please add that now, or at least explain why you haven't? (if it's too big to fit in a forum post, I suggest using https://paste.ubuntu.com/ ) Then maybe I can figure out why it's crashing for you but not for me.

    I got past the AdFly page, and the the source url for the mod download was on the GitHub domain, not Mediafire. If somebody (other than the author) put it up on Mediafire, that would be a repost, which I can't condone. However, it is identical to the moretrophies-1.0.2.3.jar (without the -deobf suffix) that can be downloaded more easily from the latest release at https://github.com/jtrent238/More-Trophies/releases/ and I was able to launch Minecraft using that file (and the required mods, of course) without getting a crash. If it crashes for you, please provide a crash report.

    Presumably also client-only - I haven't actually set up a server myself, but I'm guessing it doesn't show a main menu to be customized. Same author, and I also found a comment requesting the author to add an annotation to tell Forge not to load it on server-side.

    You only have 247 MB allocated. I can only guess that you put the arguments to allocate more memory to Minecraft in the wrong place, since it says it has no JVM flags.

    This isn't well documented as being a client-only mod on the CurseForge page, but as far as I can tell from the comments, it is. You should probably deactivate/remove this mod on the server side.

    Yes, I already saw that you had declared a variable called "player" near the top of your code (although this new spoiler text of code that you say is "the whole thing" doesn't seem to include it). However, I still don't see any code assigning a value to that variable, meaning it is presumably still null (since this is Java) when your onItemPickup tries to dereference it by calling player.getName().


    If this is for 1.12, I think that's the right function to call to get the player's name from an EntityPlayer. However, if you're specifically designing this for a multiplayer server, storing the player's name in a static variable seems a questionable design decision - wouldn't that introduce a possible race condition if two or more players are fishing concurrently?

    Yes, it increases the block (and maybe item) id limit, but your listed reason for wanting that (i.e. so you have more room to deal with id conflicts) doesn't make sense to me if I'm right about Forge's handling of the ids. That's what I meant about the purpose being different.




    for number 2. thank you, i will have to look into that as biomes were also an issue for me as i wanted to jam as many different biomes into the world as i could as well only to find out later that you could only select 1 biome modpack in world creation at a time, rendering my desire null and void at the time.

    I'm not aware of a mod that changes the biome id limits - I saw a comment on NEID requesting the feature, but the author said it was too hard (given some of the quirks of biome ids, like using 128 as an offset for variant biomes, I can believe it). However, you might take a look at BiomeTweaker. Maybe it can help you at least get closer to what you're trying to do.

    2. is there a mod that either

    1. if 2 mods have duplicate items between each other, renumbers one to a new item id not being used,

    or 2. deletes one of the duplicate items (IF any exist) to avoid having to go in and manually edit item id's anymore when conflicts come up.

    OR

    3. increases the maximum item id limit so I actually have enough room to easily change a conflict to a random higher number and be done with it.


    For #2, I think in 1.7.10 (and possibly some earlier Minecraft versions as well) Forge itself handles item/block ids automatically, so mods that make you configure those manually are doing something wrong. Other IDs like for entities and biomes are a different story, and Anti Id Conflict can presumably help you figure those out.

    For #3, there's Not Enough IDs, though I think the purpose might be a little different than you describe.

    Try looking at Iguanas Tinker Tweaks. I haven't really used it myself, but I skimmed the configs, and it seems to provide a way to adjust TiCon tool durability (among other things).
