so bascially i'd have to 1) put new mc client in my .bin folder 2) restart mc 3) login 4) update should start immediately? that's the order of things i'm doing and it gives me 1.2.5 every time.
i'm pretty sure i've followed those instructions exactly for previous snapshots and it's worked...
Did you delete the old minecraft.jar? -

Mine says Updating minecraft and then freezes on that screen.

You didn't put the minecraft.jar in the right place. Make sure it is in you "bin" folder.
The best way to edit the spawners is with NBTedit -

Its strange how Mojang gives more options to the mob spwaners, but they doesnt give us the way to obtain the actual spawner without mods isnt it?
Try this: /give 52 64. All this requires is cheats being allowed. -

This is a ghast being ridden by a cave spider spawner minecart. When the player gets too close to the ghast, it rains cave spiders all over the player.

"Ugly base block," you say to the guy who made an entire map out of netherrack. I don't generally put aesthetics first when making my maps. The entire map is centered around bedrock; exploring mines made by an ancient civilization that found a way to break through it. Makes for interesting gameplay mechanics (limited tunneling and manipulation of environment) but can actually make for intriguing aesthetics with the right block combinations. The picture I posted was particularly devoid of colour, but other areas have more contrast. But don't expect my map to look like it was made by heliceo or 3_2, aesthetics aren't really my forté.

Since when do old ctm vets that haven't touched the community for years come back with a new map in progress, with inspiration coming from nowhere?
