Even though it's not finished yet, and there are some fixes needed to be made, I REALLY enjoy this map! It has a Super Mario 64/Super Mario Galaxy vibe, and I haven't seen that in a Minecraft map yet. Keep up the awesome work!

    I like your work Alfieq!

I was planning on coming back to the forums to retry Civilization Island III but it turns out there is a new and revised version out, which looks well organized <thumbs up seal of approval>. I would like to play if I'm not too late to join.

    He's......ALIVE!!!!!!

We would all like Merit to come back, but this RP does look pretty darn good.

    Updated with ideas about poison.

I'm not sure how balanced throwing poison into the mix is. If the poison only incapacitates a player for a certain amount of time or something like that, that would seem fair, but having one player going around killing everyone with sneaky darts to the neck just seems over-doing it a little.

I think this is an interesting idea, similar to Hunger Games, yes, but with a much bigger sense of urgency and the like. Still, I think you need to flesh out the background information a little more, explain more about why (and how) the government put these people on an island in the first place. I find it hard to believe that if the government had a "lack" of talented warriors, it would kidnap ten and force nine to die in a brutal and sadistic way. Nevertheless, I find it cool that each person has a random weapon, but I think that they should only be able to use that weapon only (but maybe if they kill a person they can use their weapon as well). Like different "classes", but in a warror-type fashion. I wouldn't include any guns, for balancing reasons, but projectile weapons like bows and the like could be used without overpowering their user in the "battle". Keep working on this idea, it's a good one. :)

    Quote from zamorak789

I'm willing to put as much into this as needed. At this point, I have all six Gods planned. They'll come in teams of two with huge armies of monsters. They're all named after their skills, as I don't think a God would have an actual name. They are Lightning, Fire, Time, Space, War, Terror. (And you can go ahead and speculate on what they all do ;) )

First off, I do believe that you are invested in this RP, so that's a good start. :) Secondly, I'm not 100% convinced on the names of the gods. If this is some sort of medieval combat RP, the people are going to call their deities something much more frightening than "Fire". (e.g. "Save me! Space is going to have my hind for this!" versus "Save me! Magnartok is going to have my hind for this!" [Just threw a couple of syllables together for that one.]) The names can have something to do with the god's "element", e.g. Fire = Infernus, Time = Chronos, etc, but make them consistent with the tone and themes of the RP.

As for the application, I'm thinking something like:
    OOC
    Define metagaming:
    Define powergaming:
    Define godmodding:
    Are these allowed/okay?
    IC
    Name:
    Age:
    Gender:
    Skills:
    Weaknesses:
    Personality:
    Bio (One paragraph minimum):
    Extra:

Now as for the application, there are a couple of minor comments. Concerning the "Skills" section, what kind of RP is this going to be, stats based or story-telling? Are there certain skills that we can choose from, or can we describe any skills we want? This question is important, as it sets the level of control that players have over their character and the game world (less structure = more diverse yet uncontrollable game world). I do like the IC bit of the app, haven't seen that before.

Summary: Have in mind the type of RP YOU specifically want and envisioned when you created this thread, and try to set the tone for it through the backstory, lore, mechanics, and app.

This actually sounds like an interesting one, but I'll have to see how much you are willing to put into this RP and what the app looks like before I make any permanent decisions.

posted a message on Forgotten Multiplayer Map Type
Does anyone remember the name/type of a certain multiplayer map type with the following characteristics:

    - Every minute or so, every player on the server was teleported to a map, and a few players were designated "zombies" or something, and the object was to not get hit by the "zombies" within like two minutes or something.

    - If you ended the round not a "zombie", you got a certain amount of points (5 or 10, I think); if you were a "zombie" at the end, you lost points.

    - In between rounds, players could attempt parkour courses that gave additional points if you completed them.

I've searched this forum and the web with vague parameters and names, but nothing has come back to mind. Remembering back know, I'm pretty sure it was some sort of "official" tournament, where the players with the most points after a few weeks won something, I don't remember what. If anyone remembers what I'm talking about, please help me clarify. Also, if anyone still has independent servers of this map type still up, let me know also, as it was pretty fun and enjoyable.

    Just beat this map...

I...I don't know what to say...it was great!!! The landscapes were amazing, and, while the story and plot were a little sparse, the use of most major Minecraft technologies really tied the whole game together. I wouldn't just call this a parkour map, but much, much more. Can't wait for the sequel!

posted a message on The xSprint Parkour Map
Nice little map...but a couple of major things.

First off, putting the entire map in Creative Mode is basically taking the whole fun out of a parkour map, as everyone can simply fly if they happen to miss a jump. Secondly, many of the jumps are on or embedded in solid ground, making it easy to hop onto some grass and go to the next one. However, I do like the jump boost and speed boost portions of the map, haven't seen those in a good while. :)

Suggestions: Take off Creative Mode, put special Feather Fall boots or something if you don't want people to get hurt when falling. Move the ground jumps higher up above the normal terrain for a good challenge. And add more boosts, they enhance the map.

Overall, nice starting point, keep tweaking it, and good luck.

or we could just somehow base it around pokemon??? Pokémon building civilization, maybe a research limit.

Based on your username, I see why...but a Pokemon empire? Srsly???

I like the "beginning of time" empire idea here. Are you thinking more of a descriptive or stats-based play style?
