Perhaps have it be like a community effort contest? Have people submit texture samples for a particular topic (zombie, iron armor, etc.) and have the community vote and comment on which is the best and most fitting. Then that texture becomes the "official" flavor of the community Dokucraft pack.

I think that would be a different approach to it, and while it would take some more time, it might also expose lesser known work, and all the textures can still be available on the customizer.

Wow, that's a bummer, I was really looking forward to what else you would come up with. I guess I'll enjoy what's left of the pack in this version, and maybe I'll get to try the Aether Mod out, even. But once 1.8 hits, especially with the amount of content it promises, it'll be back to default textures for me. I'll still try out other packs, but I've yet to see many with the craftsmanship shown in this one.

I'll still hold out for future updates, who knows, maybe it'll all work out in the end. I suppose the best part of this for me is that I won't have to bother modding my Minecraft again once 1.8 comes out.

Best of Luck with your future plans! Hopefully one day you can breathe new life into this pack once more!

After you install the aether, just choose your pack as you would normally. There isn't a specific pack for the aether alone since it itself requires playing through regular Minecraft. Broken down sequence of events for posterity:

    [From Fresh Minecraft]
    1. Place Texture Packs into "texturepacks" folder.
    2. Run MCPatcher for HD textures.
    3. Install Modloader.
    4. Install AuidioMod.
    5. Install ShockAhPI.
    6. Install the Aether Mod.
    7. (Optional) Install Wildgrass Mod.
    8. (Optional) Install CTM.
    9. Run Minecraft.
    10. Choose your Dokucraft (High, Light and Dark) in the Mods and Texture Packs Menu.
    11. Create a new world or Play an existing one.

I wasn't planning on trying out the Aether mod, but since there's textures for it now, and 1.8 seems like it's still a ways away, I might just check it out.

why do others dont see what i see?

Each page there is atleast one request -.- .

Ok i wont answer , or worry about these anymore, but i just want to show you what i see.

I'm not arguing that point. I'm just trying to say that these requests aren't so bad and not worth squabbling over. Just let them be, and hope that even if some are misguided, that through their intentions they help make the end product better.

Here we go again :biggrin.gif: ?

This is what i am talking about..

    you should support Aether,
    you should support that mod
    you should support this mod

Well in his sentence i didnt see a please, people are just requesting.

Im soory for being a bit egoistic and raging over stuff like that, but meh, i sit in this thread since first pages and i should get outside :unsure.gif:

Don't answer? I too have seen the tons of requests he gets, but I try to have a little self-control and just keep shut about it. In this case, replying isn't likely to make a difference to the other person, and it's just asking for verbal retaliation. As a pack as good as Doku's gets more popular, more and more people are going to end up requesting stuff, that doesn't mean that every post is worth replying and creating a war over. I'm sure that as Doku reads the thread, he will make his own judgement upon their ideas, and act accordingly.

In a way even the most seemingly meaningless requests and opinions can make a positive influence on the artist and his work, and that's good for everyone involved. So I think people should be allowed to voice their complaints and opinions, regardless of how "bad" they may seem. Even if it wasn't their intention the Artist might see something he had missed or think of something in a new light thanks to their input. And in the end the ones that aren't meant to be won't change, since it's Doku's pack regardless of the words and opinions of everyone on this topic.

I didn't have any plans to 'troll' anyone. And I think the dirt is awesome as it is, but you must see the dirt isn't the original RPG dirt right? Its top soil in the original RPG dirt, the rest in the old.

Try looking though the thread back when the dirt was changed. I remember that Doku addressed this back then, since a lot of people questioned his decision. I can't remember the exact pages, but I did read through entire the thread once, so I recall him pointing it out.

I need Help, I accidently Deleted the Texture pack folder, I created a new one but when I click "open texture Pack folder" in minecraft it wont open up the new folder I created, if anyone can help thanks

Backup your saves and delete all of the folders and items inside ".minecraft"? Use the previous versions feature of Windows? Delete the folder and let Minecraft create a new one? Restore from the Recycle Bin? A little troubleshooting never hurt anyone, you know...?

Doku? What ever happen to, "Not caring if you like the changes or not" Yet you still let the opinions of a few people alter your image of DokuCraft. You should reconsider your earlier statement and think what it means to you. If you want the Doku RPG dirt as the dirt. Do it, after awhile the few that don't want the dirt will just deal with it. Make DokuCraft in YOUR image. Its not called DokuCraft for nothing. And for those who say, " It looked better when _____ was this." Is it really your place to be a critic? Doku obviously did what he did for a reason. So don't host your opinion if its gonna be negative. Doku's obviously doing his best and he doesn't need some kids being a critic on something that isn't even completely done.

It's impossible to "not care" completely. Or at least almost impossible. The fact that you read a comment or a suggestion already influences you artistic vision in some way. Negative to some, positive to others. And in it's own way that's a good thing.

In the end Dokucraft is still a great texture pack, and I will continue to use it as my main pack so long as its kept updated. Doku has the right to make his own decisions and change his mind about the textures as he's the author of the piece.

Is the update button functional? I get an error while trying to update. Great tool, though. I now can just give myself a redstone torch to mark my spawn every time!

Okay, we need to make some sort of official note on this, as it has been asked a multitude of times before... Phantango is working on it, and it may be released when Doku finishes/Says so.

Doku also said he wanted to do a x16 pack, but he's going to at least finish this one first.

Sounds like something is holding your shift button down. StickyKeys or some other thing must have been activated.

In the recent update, holding down the shift key automatically moves the item to and from inventory, hotbar and chests. Try restarting your PC, Holding the Shift button, or turning sticky keys off. You can't change the key that activates the behavior so that's your best bet I think.

Well, it seems the problem is related to one of my world saves. I started a new save yesterday and other than the usual slowdown due to initial world generation, everything seemed to be fine. I suppose the question now is if my previous world could somehow be saved, and if I could find what exactly is causing this in the files...? I have posted the save up, if anyone wants to try and confirm or my problem or try to fix the files.

posted a message on [SSP][General]Minecraft Crashes, blocks not being updated properly
    Problem Description:

My game keeps exiting randomly for what to me is no apparent reason. Before crashing I often get a bit of foretelling, blocks fail to update properly, for example if I destroy a block, a "ghost" image will remain. Soon after this the game will crash. However, I have gotten the same error without interacting with blocks.

The game seems to run at a much lower performance than I would expect from my system and previous sessions, even with the current update (Back when I first updated it ran fine). Sometimes I try to monitor the performance using debug [F3], and I notice that the game although starts at a 10%-30% memory consumption can sometimes get around 40%-50%. The game also has very frequent spikes in lag and frame rate loss.

What I have tried so far:

    • Restarting the client
    • Deleting /bin
    • Forcing an update
    • Restarting the PC
    • Uninstalling all mods

    System Information:

    Specs and Data about PC

I don't know if this makes a difference, but I recently changed the JRE to the latest JDK, since I use Netbeans for software development. I use the x32(x86) version, even though I have a x64 system.
