If I am building something that could be made modular and has repeating components, such as a castle or village, I usually create the individual objects, export them as schematics, and use signs to designate where I have a program import the schematics components at.
I still have to do lots of readying the area and cleanup afterwards, but it saves lots of time in the actual building and is easy to restore a map and adjust a sign if a change needs to be made.
Sounds interesting, especially the part with the importing onto signs. I have a huge Adv/Rpg project in my head and I've been throwing around the choice of building it into a world, or building everything (buildings, temples, cart system, etc) and then forming the land around them. In thought it sounds great, but the actuality is I'd have to form a ridiculous amount of land.
I'm curious how everyone goes about doing their large projects. Whether you build, and then MCEdit in the buildings, or you go into a seed and start building into the land. How do you prefer to create large projects?
I would definitely say that is not common at all. Not only two dungeons that close to each other, but right on top of a stronghold library like that. Very nice find.
I'll try and see what happens but idk if I can get it to work. I'm not used to redstone >_<
If you have any troubles make sure to post here. The XOR gate I posted is extremely simple. If you still have trouble feel free to send the map and I can hide the gate and put levers in.
Well, at first i thought that was the case myself So i broke the redstone dust connected to the levers at the door and tried operating the door from the levers that i put at the back of the XOR circuit and the door doesn't work its as if the door isn't connected to the wire. but i didn't change the way I had it wired last night and it was working last night so now i don't understand. i also tried placing the doors in different directions hoping that would make it so that even if the levers are powering the door itself that both of them would work but...nothing.
@Malorajan and Sykken: do i have to use repeaters O.o idk how those things work at all.
@sykken o.o thats soooo...complex idk how to do that in my small setup at all
For this yeah, but all you do is put them down like in the picture. There's really nothing complicated at all.
Edit: I dont comprehend that pic at all sorry, prolly cuz of the mod that your using. i have yet to touch any mods since i haven't experienced much of the game.
No mod, just a texture pack. Here it is with the default textures:
Edit: Here you go, if you need to move them, just have the levers where you need them and then lead the redstone to where the levers are in the picture.

There's a floppy disk at the top where you can download a schematic.

I'll try to find a smaller one, I know it exists.

Upload them to http://www.imgur.com
Edit: Idk about the other person but I can see all the images.
