I'm trying to start up a new Tekkit server for a friend, but I'm very unfamiliar with it. What does the client need to be able to access the server? I created the server, set the port to 25566, and had XMSM download tekkit (it downloaded server.jar). I gave it 1GB of ram like it asked, and hit run, but I can't figure out how to actually get in the server. Any help?
Find your IP or type in 'localhost' or '0.0.0.0' in the direct connect/add a server window of the multiplayer menu. But have you port forwarded port 25566?

Might want to fix the screenshots section. There's just some broken HTML on the page and no images. Also, please make the file a .ZIP?

Can't you just embed the video in the article? It's really annoying.

    Great map, though.

The command block by far - especially the potential for custom maps. Can't see why others are voting for other things. :D

Any updates on development for the upcoming 1.4 release in a few days? Like the ability to toggle Command Block usage and a few other miscellaneous things?

Wow. That was a fantastic update. Thank you very much and thanks again for taking into consideration our feedback! I still have a few quirks with it, though, and I forgot to add some in my last post.

For version 1.1, and still in 1.2:

I feel that the character limit for the 'server textures' box is unfair. Instead of having one link (that I used to use), I've had to compress it a bit and relocate it on the server I host it to. Original VS compressed:

    https\://dl.dropbox.com/u/44881218/Misc/oCd-pack-131-by-disco.zip
    http\://dl.dropbox.com/u/44881218/oCd-pack-131-by-disco.zip

And that one at the bottom takes up all characters possible. Now, I could just rename it or switch host or whatever but Minecraft needs a direct link and that's pretty much the shortest it can handle. But that's only a little thing.

Thanks again for your work with this project. I love the event scheduler, although some more server options (EDIT: Start/Stop/ and a counter in second, too, instead of just 'restart') would be nice. :) I'll try and update this post if I find any more bugs.

    EDIT 1:
    Quote from Xathz

I have increased the character limit to 200 from 58.

Thank you. Will you update the listings for the servers, too? Tekkit, as far as I know, now runs on Minecraft 1.3. Additionally, will you update the help link (because it seems to redirect to the same post (the OP) as the forum link, or is that intentional?) and add a couple of more general options like previous features including that CPU/RAM resource monitor? - (Quick additional edit) Lastly, will you allow pressing of the 'delete' key to trigger deleting servers?

I have had the same issue come up. I also caused the system to lockup when I accidently tried to give two servers the same name. It told me it was an error, but then greyed out the server configuration and I could not click on anything else. I was forced to stop the task, but interesting enough the application did a good job to close all the servers before stopping.
Same here. But to edit the config, you need to press the close button (red X) in the top right of a server window before attempting to edit it.

Woo, I'm so happy you released this! Thanks a lot. :D

    Some feature suggestions:

1): A 'Global Announcement' feature, which broadcasts a message (/say) which is either predefined or user custom across all servers. Useful if you need to tell all players on the active servers you have something, but don't want to repeat it however many times.
2): The ability to customise the message you get when you press Kick All Players. It's easy enough to do. ([Scripting work you already have in place] /kick [message here].) That works in-game.
3): 'Server template' feature, which allows you to quickly create a new server and world, (on the next port up from the previous server; 25566 instead of 25565 or 4001 instead of 4000, for example...) which has a few basic options ('Flat Creative' (standard vanilla server with most options (mobs, structures, NPCs) turned off by default for performance/testing reasons), 'Default Survival' (self explanatory), 'Tekkit Survival' (with a note somewhere that you require the Technic launcher, of course) or 'Bukkit World' (which can be customised and has a GUI for browsing plugins) with the ability to also create your own templates or view 'Advanced Options' later on down the line?

    Other Notes
Works only on Windows XP, Vista, Win 7

I can confirm this works on Windows 8. Or, at least, the release preview. Not much should have changed between the release preview and the full release...

Lastly: Is there a way to manually update the 'Minecraft versions' list if you click the 'Download a server' button? I want to update my servers to the 1.3.2 version of Minecraft, but apparently the list last updated at about 10PM last night... or does it auto update?

EDIT: Oh, and could I have another signature or may I be allowed to edit this one? :P
