Hello, recently I haven't been able to connect to my minecraft server. However, a few days ago I was able to connect just fine. Whenever I connect I receive the error Connection refused:connect. Is anybody else having this problem? Or is there a fix? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
I expected to have people tell me the old "Why dont you just make your own then" Well simply because I dont have the money and thats not really what Im getting at.
Im just trying to say whats getting too cliche with RP servers.
People like "raahh evil guy vs good guy" and elves, dwarves, humans, and orcs. To gain popularity, it's easier to use the tried and true RP theme instead of trying something completely new that could fail. Not to mention many people aren't creative.
So what if it fails? A regular evil vs good server can fail too. Everything has a chance of failing and you just gotta accept those chances.
If many people arent creative then I don't even know what to say about that. 90% of the earths population can make something creative, it all depends on wether or not you try to.
To start it off, I was a bit unsure if I should put this here. Whatever, lets get on with it. If you have ever played on an RP server, you will find its very fun. Some of you may be fine with what I (and maybe some others) find very monotonous. The same races, the same raahh evil guy vs good guy. Very few servers even make an attempt at changing it. Seriously guys, change it up a little bit. As for races please stop with only elves, dwarfs, humans, and orcs. It all seems very repetitive. My advice for anyone right now asking themselves: Which RP server should I choose? Pick any one you find, cause right now its pretty much all the same.
EDIT: Kudos to RP servers who arent like all the other ones. Thanks for showing some creativity.
1a: Yes, this I agree on 100% but take out the recipe book idea, it still is kind of a more robust wiki, I agree the game is musch more fun to play with without using the wiki, but you cant stop it. You can't stop the wiki or the people who use it and/or contribute to it.
2a: As for the difficulty nobody is forcing you to change it and mostly everyone I know only changes it while playing creative. Alot of players play SMP more than SSP so I don't see this needing to be changed because you can not change it on mulitplayer.
3a: Mobs aren't hard? Play on hard or hardcore then.
4a: Yes, the terrain needs to be changed. They aren't utilizing all the space they have made for themselves to make bigger mountains and such. The biome rewards is a great idea, the game doesn't give much motivation to go on an epic journey to a mushroom biome
other than for mycellium and mooshrooms. The game right now has almost no potions at all,I literally have 2 double chests filled with them on my server and ever so rarely do I find myself using speed potions, fire resistance potions, poisons, and other things of that sort.
5a: I agree with the more weapon choices but the game would feel too much like a mod and not everybody wants more weapon choices. Dividing armor into classes such as Medium, Light and Heavy would be great as it would add a whole new aspect to the PVP part of the game so I am 75% for 5a.
6a: A sprint key would be nice as double tapping W is extremely annoying.
7a: The community is fine and personally I feel like you are really only ranting because the game isn't 90% what you want.

Honestly your arguement brings up valid points but I can't take alot of it seriously when you all caps rage 75% of the time. Our community is like alot of communities and you won't be able to change it. Mojang can't. Nobody can.
The idea of this mod is great, however I seem to have a few problems when playing with a regular wired XBOX 360 controller.
1. I cannot do anything
2. The camera never stops spinning
3. On the rare occasion that it does work, the player has a tendency to always try to look up

Why do you want to join our server? - Well I have been searching for a Role playing server that would let me be some sort of feline race. I found this one and I found out I could be a khajiit. I love the elder scrolls games aswell and although skyrim isn't my favorite it is still up there being one of my most favorite RPG games of all time.
