Maybe I'm just being really stupid, but the latest version of this mod seems to be impossible. You need copper/tin dust for enriched alloy, which is required for pretty much every machine. But you can't make those dusts without the very same machines that require it to make. I must be missing something. All the documentation I can find online is all based on the 1.4.7 and old version of Voltz. Nothing for Ampz or anything else that's currently 1.5.2. Help?

You can use 2 redstone and an iron bar to make it.

I would like to suggest crossbows as one of the ranged weapons. They would have a lot of room for tinkering I think. With a stock ,bow, string ,and cocking mechanism. The stock would be the binding equivalent ,the bow would be the head and would control the power of attack and the speed of cocking ,the string would be the handle equivalent ,and the cocking mechanism would modify the cocking speed. So you could make powerful but slow firing or weaker but fast firing and all kinds of combinations. And you could have the bolts make of wood and the head material.

I like the surface ores but I do not think you need to nerf underground ores at the same time. You only have a limited amount of time to gather resources so any time you spend on the surface is time you are not mining so it seems like it would even out without any nerf. And I like mining and exploring caves.

Can someone give me some hints on how to make steel because I have tried everything I can think of including throwing 5 of everything that would smelt into a smelter together.

Hello, Pahimar, first of all i want to congratulate you and thank you on all the hard work your are putting on the EE project, also i wanna give my support as a server admin on the nice changes (adding/removing) to the project.

As you already know most of us server admins disabled all or part of the mod to be able to make server economy or even sever balance possible since some items on EE2 became game breaking too fast in the progression of the game (ie. condenser/collectors flowers), so im super happy and thrilled for the changes ive been looking for the EE3 thats "coming out soon™" ;) .

I read every single post on this thread, im usally a reader, like most of the comunity that uses your mod, we lurk around in the shadows getting all the knowledge possible and rarely posting anything on the forums, but after seeing how ppl are still so "dramatically" stuborn on accepting that the changes you are doing to the mod are for the best and for a better enjoyment of the game overall, i decided to come out for a few minutes and drop you a few lines.

Remember m8, the percetange of ppl that complain are usually only a minority of the ppl that uses the mod, i havent heard anyone on the minecraft circles i frequent complain about anything you are doing to the mod, actually its usually coments of happiness that the mod its gonna get balanced hehe.

Keep up the good work! Hope to see and play the new EE3 when it comes out and install it on my server.

    /Manu

I would just like to put up a counter point to this.I play single player most of the time so to be honest I could not care less what server admins think.

I am not whining and I am not trying to make Pahimar do anything.I will just say that this may turn out to be a great mod or it may be forgotten 3 months after it is released but at the moment it is not something that I am looking forward to.

As to the people complaining all the data I have ever seen shows that less then 3% of people actually go to the trouble of complying about services or products most just stop using them and maybe tell their friends that they should not use them.

And really what are people who liked EE2 the way it was supposed to do ,just shut up because you do not agree with them?

I think a lot of this ties into what I wrote in my last post that most of this arguing could have been avoided if Pahimar had just started a new mod called FullMetal mod or something. Then he could have just told people that neither Xeno nor him wanted to work on EE anymore.

I just want to say that I know you are putting a lot of hard work into this and I hope you end up with a mod you can enjoy.

But I think the problem you are having is that EE is a popular mod that had a split response in the fanbase. The people that played it really liked it the way it was but as you say many people called it overpowered. But it seems like you are making EE3 for the people that did not like EE2 as opposed to the people who did.So that is why you are getting a lot of flack,I think.

It might have been better if you had made a new mod with a new name to put into place what you wanted out of this mod.You would still have people asking you to update EE2 instead but I think it would have gone over better overall.

Are you using the latest version (2.0.7.1b)? There was a bug in an earlier version where you couldn't craft brass.

I have 2.0.7.1b and I can not make brass either.I was planning on making some chests and after I failed with the dusts I checked with NEI and it does not show any recipe to make brass dust.

Also put me down for hoping you can get the metal chests working with inventory tweaks.

Did you break and replace the crushers after you changed the values?

    Thanks that worked.

I am thinking of setting stone to 3 ore per coal then having copper, bronze, and iron each add 1 and then have steel add 2 so that a fully upgraded crusher would be as efficient as a standard furnace.

I was testing speeding up the upgraded crushers by using the config files but it did not seem to have any effect in game.Even setting the stone crusher to 10000 which should have been 8 ores to one coal did nothing.I am on 2.0.3b and used wordpad to save the files.

posted a message on 1.3.2 crashs with screen artifacts.
After playing for a while inside or moving around a bit outside I start to get strange white flashing spots on screen .If I go on playing I lose sound and then blocks that I break still look like they are there but you can walk through them.Shortly after that the game crashes but if I quit when the flashes start I can restart the game and play fine until the flashes start again.

Here is one of my crash logs. The Problematic frame: seems to be different most of the time such as C 0x4b47f158 or C [OpenAL32.dll+0xc059].

I have a few of suggestions.

Damascus Steel perhaps you could raise it damage to 3 that would make it the best choice for cheap weapons.

Bronze could have its armor durability increased to make it the best choice for early armor.

So since steel makes the best tools you could save it for them until you have a large supply.
This would also keep Damascus Steel as a good weapon even until the endgame.

You could also shake the fantasy and neither alloys up some.Such as having some that are only so so as tools but make better weapons or armor. If you raised the top damage by 2 ,so 6 for the neither and 7 for fantasy, that would give you more room to make each ore and alloy more distinctive.

I am using Beta 2.0.2b and I just mined some Admantine with a Prometheum pickaxe so then I went looking for more ore and the Prometheum could mine everything I could find.So I think the fantasy ore's tool levels are still not right.

Also on the machines it seems to me that none of them are really worth upgrading. The metal cost way outweighs the slight savings in fuel.My feeling is that every upgrade should make a real difference in your game.As they are now you have to stand over them with a stopwatch to even see any inprovement.

Do you old worlds have the forge mod as well? Regardless, its possible for a bug to be tricky to hit unless you know the conditions under which it occurred.

For example, when MC 1.8 came out with multi-texturing, I could walk around in areas of my world without a problem, but then near a biome boundary it would crash every time because it was trying to multi-texture the grass along the boundary.

Yes I have forge in old worlds.Tale of Kingdoms has not updated yet so I kept 1.0 to run my world with it.I have a ton of mods in that world as well but it seems to run fine.

I see you are running Java7, some people have trouble with that.
Also, it is specifically crashing in the Nvidia Open GL support library, so investigate your video driver, upgrade or downgrade it.

    Thanks.

I wonder if they changed something with how they handle Open GL in 1.1?I kept a copy of 1.0 to run some of my old worlds and it still runs fine.
