posted a message on True Survival Mode
First of all before I get into the specifics of the topic I would like to say that because of the search bar being down, I have no idea if this has been posted before. So if I'm taking an already posted idea, I apologize in advance.

The Suggestion: That there should be a difficulty mode called Survival where it is close to real life. You must eat, drink, sleep, etc.

Every Minecraft day the player must:
    1. Eat a meal twice a day (cooked steak, cookedfish, apple, mushroom, cake)
    2. Drink 3 times a day. To drink a player must first get a bucket of water and then purify it. My guess would be that water would be purified by boiling it. Maybe put the water in the oven? However it is purified, the bucket can now allow the player to drink 6 times (enough for 2 days)
3.Every other day, the player must sleep in a bed.
    4. Lastly, whenever the player sustains a bad injury they will break a bone which can only be healed by sleeping in a bed.
The player breaks a leg from falling a distance greater then 15 blocks and when a leg is broken the player will move at 1/2 speed.
The player will break an arm when their health falls below 3 hearts but only if the cause of the damage is from a mob (if a player loses the health from lets say, staying under water for too long, they are fine but if they are attacked by a spider their arm will break). While the arm is broken the player mines at 1/2 speed

To allow the player to get everything required (Set up a house, make a bed, buckets everything needed) the player will not enter Survival mode for 1 Minecraft week. At the end of 1 week, if the survival difficulty is selected a sign will spawn in front of the player telling them that survival mode is now active.

Tell me what you think, good or bad. I wanna know what people think. I'm open to suggestions :biggrin.gif:

posted a message on Why the hell can't Notch get a better server?
i have to say, I paid $15 for this game. Not a lot. BUT having saying that the game should work even though it is in Beta. half the time I can't log on and i haven't been able to get on for the past 3 days... At this point it seems like Notch doesn't really care how happy people are after he has their money. He is always doing something that prevents him from working on Minecraft. On his blog every other thing is BRB doing this, doing that. also it doesn't seem like he looks at these forums at all. there are some GREAT ideas here. it just seems to me like we're being screwed over... for 2011 so far i give notch a :SSSS:

posted a message on Minecraft for Ipod/Ipad/Iphone

I agree that it wouldn't be smooth and it probably isn't even possible, but i saw on a website (that had a link on minecraft.net) that it would be available to Ipod/Iphone/Ipad users!!

So? Look, my post has a link to Minecraft.net, and I say that this shouldn't be included, so obviously it shouldn't. Unless one of the devs said it would be, it isn't true. And if they DID say it was going to be done, then there's no need to suggest it, is there?

    And don't double post, please.

you realize he said ON minecraft.net right? not TO minecraft.net. This means that there is a link ON the minecraft site TO another site which has this information

posted a message on UnIKrafTr's MMORPG IDEAZ
Dude thats a great idea :biggrin.gif: that way people can play with their friends and not have to go through the trouble of setting up a server. There could be things like friends lists and stuff and ranks so people could become more efficient with their building or something. Again great idea, I hope it's implemented

    Quote from creeper-go-boom »

good idea. diamond in coal is found much deeper though.

Then just make the coal closer to the top the normal coal that we know and the coal that is lower contains the block of diamond inside

posted a message on MP on Mac?
They aren't any different but for some reason 25565 doesn't always work for some people. In that case they would use a different port which could be anything from 1000 to 6000 I think. Check with whoever made the server

the number at the end matters. Thats the port that the server is on. Make sure that it isn't on another port such as 25566 or something like that

posted a message on How to set up a server?
the console is your GUI (graphical user interface) for your server. It basically shows you things like who is in your server, allows you to see every command and text that is used, communicate with everyone on the server, and use commands
