    Go on a server, and find a house. Preferably the house of someone who has stated that they have a slow computer. Place a block (obsidian would work best since it's harder to break) above level 128 in every single chunk near their house. This will cause all of those regions to load, taking up twice as much memory and lagging their game.

    Or, in creative, go up to level 129 and just follow someone around.

    Also, this isn't really a guide, more of a warning. NONE OF YOU DO THIS, I'M SERIOUS YOU GUISE

    So, my suggestion, basically, is to have every sapling object contain a string of characters which, when the sapling is placed, gets parsed into growth speed, height, likelihood of branching, branching patterns, trunk thickness, apple/sapling drop frequency, vines, etc. When a tree drops a sapling, the sapling would have the same genome as the parent, with minor variations. This would allow for selective breeding of trees. A related idea, although this wouldn't be necessary, is some sort of redstone device that can be given a sapling and will return those values and display them in its GUI box thing. If the genome were given enough sway over the growth patterns, then it might also be possible to have saplings that almost instantly grow into house-like formations, requiring only that you chop a hole in the side and put in a door, which would be great for long trips. Also, maybe a way to cross-breed trees, like right-clicking a sapling block while holding a sapling to combine their genomes.

    The only problem I can see with this is how the saplings would be sorted in the inventory.

    Well, if I'm writing it, then there will be no devices for anything, at least until later.

    And I did think of a genetic resequencing device, but that would make things too easy. I want people to be ****ing murdering each other for their saplings.

    But cross breeding is a pretty good idea. Perhaps you could right click on a sapling with another sapling, and that would mix their genomes together.

    I'm gonna keep trying to do this, but I'm also gonna post on the mod requests section, because I'm not sure I can do this.

    If I knew how to test it or integrate textures, I'd totally ask you. I'll probably figure at least one of those out, although I don't really need any textures. Unless...unless I use a **** ton of different wood and leaf patterns.

    Seriously, if you're scared to an uncomfortable degree by a game like Minecraft, you need to evaluate your life and maybe see a therapist. Or just listen to some music while mining. Tom Waits is excellent mining music.
