Hey Dr. K! Jeb just posted the texture packs ahead of schedule for the texture pack makers to get to work early. I'll post the link and the images.

    http://imgur.com/a/0Dpgb

Looks like the iron bars, stone brick, cracked stone brick, mossy stone brick, watermelon tops and sides, the tops and stalks of the two giant mushrooms, and then the bottom looks like the explosion image I keep hearing about. Not sure what that "dust" image next to it is.

This one has three stages of a bow being drawn, I suppose for the new charge mechanics, what looks like watermelon and pumpkin seeds, watermelon slices, raw and cooked chicken, the new rotten meat?, and then raw beef and . . . then it gets weird. I can't tell if the old cooked pork is the new cooked beef, because where the cooked pork used to be is a lightly colored meat . . . so I guess cooked pork is the new cooked beef, and the new cooked pork is the light brown next to it?

Lots of new stuff to add! Hope this post is useful to you!

Hey thanks! Do we know when the next update is coming out? I can't recall. :biggrin.gif:

Will do any mod support with this texture pack Dr.K?

I might. It depends on the complexity of the pack. If it's just a couple textures here and there and if a ton of people use it, then maybe (that's a tentative "maybe").

:Sheep: Hey guys! Sorry I kind of disappeared this week. :Sheep:

I haven't been able to update lately because of work getting a little crazy. I'm now working on Borderlands 2 so I'm drawing a ton and spending a bit more time at work. My outside projects (including this pack) haven't much attention. So I apologize. I'm hoping that I'll be able to figure out a good schedule for myself so I can fit everything in. Thank you so much for your patience!

Dr. K. you might want to check the site linked in this thread I saw Bordercraft on there at least twice.

Thanks for the heads up. I emailed one of the sites. We'll see if they actually comply. :biggrin.gif:

Oh and the next update should be live in the next couple of days. I would have had it done last week, but it got holy balls crazy.

In case you missed it, Borderlands 2 was announced last week! http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/08/03/september-cover-revealed_3a00_-borderlands-2-75830-3458572.aspx \(^0^)/

I'd be careful mate, probably should seek permission before posting, rather than posting then asking if its ok.
    [/quote]

Um yeah. That's generally a good process. I HATE it when people post something before asking. If the content isn't yours, ask. If you don't get an answer, count that as a "no". It's a good general practice.

Nice to know we solved it and it wasn't just me! I would also like to confirm rain and snow, as they are white blocks as well and you can't see anything.

    Works as intended. :tongue.gif:

In any case, I should be able to fix that by tomorrow. XD Sorry about that. I'm usually not terrible at math. :/

Hmm, I think this is needed

How to install mods and MCpatcher.

Step 1: If you are using any mods that require the mod loader then the mod loader MUST be installed first. This also includes the sound mod. If you don't know how to install the modloader all you have to do is locate the minecraft.jar in the bin folder of the minecraft folder. If you are running windows you can find this folder by clicking the start button and typing run. When the next window pops up type "%appdata%\.minecraft" without quotations and it will open the minecraft folder. Then navigate to the bin folder and open it. Find the minecraft.jar and open it with a decomplier(or unzipper) like winrar or winzip. Do the same with the modloader.zip. Then transfer the files from the modloader to the minecraft.jar and delete the Meta-INF folder.

Step 2: Patch with MCpatcher but DO NOT patch each individual texture pack. The older versions of MCpatcher used to work like that.

Step 3: Drop and and all texture packs that you want to use into the texturepack folder in the minecraft folder

Step 4: Then install any other mods. If you are using a mod like the yogbox that comes with it's own installer Then you must use Optimine/Optifog instead of MCpatcher.

Note: Installing optimine/optifog is just like installing the modloader

This is awesome. Mind if I put this on the first post?

I just installed the newest version of the 128x pack, and I am having absolutely no problems. No white signs, armor, mobs, anything. Everything looks spot on. Even . . .

The ever present wheat pixels are gone! Thank goodness! Great job Dr. K! I don't know what is causing the white mobs, but there is no sign of it here!

Thanks, man! Those pixels were the devil. :dry.gif:

this is an amazing texture pack, considering i just rebought borderlands AGAIN. its probly one of my favorite games evar. in fact, i found this texture pack from yogscast :biggrin.gif: a few things though: yeah, the animals are kinda... really..sorta.. very creepy right now, i really hope you follow other ppls suggestions about making chickens claptraps and pigs skags and so on. or maybe make the wolves skags, so we can tame skags :3
oh yeah and the not-animated water sucks :sad.gif:

The animals for this version will stay animals. I made them look like creepy old men on purpose. XD

The Borderlands version of the pack will have the Borderlands enemies. The animated water will be in the next version of this pack. I forgot to include it in the emergency update. :3

Gaah! You made me puke in my mouth with that one. It was like someone took out my eyes, rubbed them on a cheese grater, and shoved them back in backwards.

    16x bordercraft is not pleasant.

GAH! XD Yup, that was, uh...interesting? I think your simile illustrates it quite well. :wink.gif:

    Quote from slothy89

I'm sure if someone good at pixel art created a borderlands themed pack at 16x from the beginning it would look ok, but resizing a HD pack never works... even the 32x looks a little off..

Yeah, I'm too lazy to do yet another version of the pack. :/ At least the 64x version looks okay...

    Very nice!

Thank you. I've heard lots of times that I should be 'flattered' when people either rip my work for a remix or post it on their site without my permission (with or without an adfly link). But it's not flattering at all, because they're basically saying that they don't give a flynig **** about me as the artist (and my right to distribute my work as I see fit), and just want to get more hits for their site.

I was just thinking this earlier. Sure it is somewhat flattering that someone is trying to use your work. If that person is doing it, they see value in your work that they can benefit from. I would just prefer that they all get caught and made to look entirely pathetic in front of a large number of people after they do it.

It makes my blood boil when I find someone taking credit where they did nothing.

I say we should keep up doing with what we did today. Notify people if you see it. Don't just let it pass (even if it's not your own work). New threads and PMs are your friends! It wouldn't hurt to google your own work every now and then to see what crops up. Or even other packs for that matter.

Thank you to Steelfeathers for messaging me about this today. I would have never found it.

I understand that it may seem too big to deal with, but I don't think we should just lie down and take it.

I work for Gearbox and I'm working on the Bordercraft texture pack. Because my pack is based on the artstyle for Borderlands, it isn't even right for ME to post adf.ly links.

We CAN take solace in the fact that this guy isn't making big bucks on this even if we can't stop him. It's takes a ton of clicks to get much money from adf.ly. He'd have to have a few thousands views to get anywhere.

    Hey everyone!

SteelFeathers informed me of this guy: http://www.youtube.c...ser/TDMinecraft
Please report him. He's posting adf.ly links for texture packs and mods on his youtube videos. In case you weren't aware, adf.ly will give you money per clicks on a link. So he's making money off of content he didn't make. :sad.gif:

Both would be a good idea.

Can report on adf.ly here: http://adf.ly/abuse.php

    And thank you!!!
