I Have a "Mac" so i cant do the windows key or anything.
That's definitely something you should've mentioned then lol.
Its whatever your local IP is.
I can't recall if its your IPv4 address or your gateway, though I believe its your gateway.
Look up how to get your IPv4 address and your internet gateway on your Mac and you'll get the answer to your question.
Also, posting your OWN thread requesting help is a whole lot more helpful and likely to get a response than reviving a thread that died out long ago.
I Made a minecraft server but when ever i test it to see if anyone can join on my other computer it says "cant reach server" but on the other computer it shows "a minecraft server" PLEASE HELP!!!
Windows key + R
Type; CMD
Hit Enter.
Type; ipconfig
Hit Enter.
Try connecting to your IPv4 Address
Try connecting to your Default Gateway
So i played minecraft yesterday and toggled full screen mode on, and it was working fine.
Today, i boot up minecraft, log in, and the mojang logo comes up, then minecraft closes down like it is going to re-appear in full screen, and it never does.
I deleted my minecraft.jar file, and force updated minecraft to get the .jar back but that didnt work.
any suggestion?
Back up your .minecraft folder [zip it or copy it to your desktop then delete the original]
Delete the .minecraft folder and then run it. If the game works, copy your worlds back from the .minecraft folder.
Thank you for taking your time to help me. I prefer using Fraps but what would you recommend instead of Fraps?
CPU: Microsoft Windows XP Professional
GPU:Intel® 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family
RAM:.99GB of RAM
OS:32 Bit
Minecraft version: 1.4.7
Fraps version: 3.4.7
Video drivers version: 6.14.0010.4764 (English)
Java version(s): 1.6.0_37 from Sun Microsystems Inc.
I find it unlikely that you have 99GB of ram
Personally, I like Camstudio. Though for editor I have Adobes' CS6 package for media editing.
Registry is referring to a directory/file that doesn't exist or is corrupt.
Try running a program such as CCleaner to clean up your registry.
Download and run CCleaner, google if needed.
Click "Registry"
Make sure everything has a check EXCEPT for "Unused file extensions"
Then hit "Scan for issues."
Followed up with "Fix selected issues"
Also hitting "yes" to back up your registry. Save it in your documents folder would be a suggest place, so you won't interact with it much if something goes faulty though so you could return it to previous setup.
Rename it OR leave it the default name, whatever works.
And that should work. If it doesn't, uninstall Java.
REBOOT
Verify Java is totally 100% uninstalled, like how you would normally uninstall something.
Check to make sure Java is removed from those folders.
Go reinstall Java.
Hello all! My name is silencedchaos and I have been getting an error when I try to run Minecraft and Fraps simultaneously. In order to launch Fraps I have to change my hardware acceleration to the "fullest" setting possible but, I have to switch it back to disable Direct3D accelerations (3rd Setting) in order to run Minecraft. I used to be able to switch back and forth between Fraps and Minecraft fine however, when I launch Fraps now and attempt to launch Minecraft the screen turns black. I have already made sure my video card drivers are up to date but, I really need to get Fraps and Minecraft up an running together in order to record for my YouTube channel! Any sort of help would be greatly appreciated!
Fraps isn't that great for recording. There are much better recorders and editors out there.

The ".minecraft" *file* you are talking about is the folder which is located [in default] C:\Users\[your_account_name]\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft.
This folder section [AppData] is default = Hidden. To view said folder(s) open your windows explorer (Hit the windows key, then click Computer). Once a screen pops up saying your hard drives/disk drives, hit the "Alt" key on your keyboard until you see a new bar containing options: File | Edit | View | Tools | Help
Click Tools > Folder Options > View
Now look down a little bit and search for "Hidden files and folders"
Make sure "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" is toggled instead of the other option listed there.
Now you should be able to find and edit the contents in your AppData folder.
OR
Hit the windows key on your keyboard + R
Type "%AppData%", (minus the quotation marks) and hit Enter.
At the top, if sorted by default, should be your .minecraft folder.
Please don't mess around with any other folders/files in that directory [AppData] as it can result in unexpected and unpredictable results.
How i fixed mine
1)changing the port my server was on in the server file
default is 25565
my new one was 25569
2)report-forward your router
3)go to minecraft planet and see if it can ping your server
if not repeat
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
If nothing works turn it off and turn it back on. Repeat.
This really isn't the miracle fix.. but good to see it worked for you.
Right click your launcher, click Run As Admin.
Once its open click on Options>Force update!
and it'll fresh-install your core minecraft installation [CAUTION: will delete any mods hard-installed into the minecraft.jar file].
Try to run the game. Still have loading problem?
Hit the windows key on your keyboard + R at the same time. "[Windows key]" + "R", and type "%appdata%"
Delete the ".minecraft" folder. Then follow the first steps listed, rerunning the launcher and forcing an update. [CAUTION: Will delete everything you installed/modified on Minecraft]
If it still doesnt work;
Run minecraft and wait until the game crashes at that loading screen [no crash = it works. crash = copy and paste the log here in a reply].
Then hit the windows key on your keyboard + R at the same time. "[Windows key]" + "R", and type "CMD"
Then type, in the command prompt, "msinfo32".
Take a screen shot of that [Prnt Scrn/Prt Scr key], save it, upload it and post a link. That'll give 99% of the info needed to help you, excluding your java info.
I would recommend a creative one. Really any one will do, as you can learn what the different blocks do/how they interact with each other.
I only suggest creative to start with so you get the basics of what the blocks do so if you decide survival would be better, you'll actually know what you're doing. Well most of it.
There aren't a lot of commands until you start getting into server/game mods, if any.
But depending on your style of gaming you may enjoy creative or survival more than the other, or both equally as much. Personally I like creating but aren't very artistic with blocks. So I do red stone on creative servers because I'm good with the technical side of things, though I enjoy survival with a few close buddies more than anything else.
Hi, may i ask are you from SG? I have a new server and inviting players currently. Survival mode though but yes, no griefing.
Also, I'm not 18+ but I don't really think age got anything to do with maturity if you're thinking this way.
Well there's generally a big difference between >18 YO and <18 YO.
There's a few factors in why someone might want a more mature group being;
~Are you going to rage quit the first time you die
~Are you going to scream
~Do you have a high pitch voice
~Can we make "mature" jokes
~Are we going to have to hear "MOM ITS NOT BEDTIME I HAVE 10 MORE MINUTES" every night
And a few more. So while you may be 15/16 and claim to handle most of the above, a majority of older players will happily play with you - but would prefer a more mature crowd. So choosing people to play with can have more to do than what I said above, such as my personal preference;
~No high pitch voices
~No random screaming/yelling
~No rage quitting
~No "go away mom" every few minutes.
And a big one, Can I relate to you? If you're 15 and just joining high school we doubtfully have a lot in common for me to want to put effort into playing with you regularly. And sure this isn't going to be a dating service [xD] but I'd rather play with people that we can complain about wives/girlfriends/jobs and not how much math/history class sucks.
Again, not being judgmental to say I'll never play with someone younger than me or fairly young, but if I look for a group of people to play with casually I want to share more interests.

Though that's not your bug/error, it doesn't hurt to be correct in terms of grammar.
