Wow, this pack looks fantastic. I have a question, though. Will I be able to use this on a really crappy PC? I'm not very knowledgeable on the technical side of things, so I'm not sure if the higher resolution would make a noticeable difference or not on my PC's performance. I don't want to go through the effort of DLing everything if it's just going to freeze my computer up.
Everyone at this forum really needs to see the potential in the stuff he is doing, we are TESTING this game right now so ofcourse the biomes are small. It's alot easier to see how they will generate, than when they will be large. When he has fixed everything it will be alot better, i mean how awesome wouldnt it be with hell portals in multiplayer and trying to survive together with your friends against numerous monsters, or even attempting to conquer hell with your friends. That things dont work as intended immediatly after a huge patch in a game at alpha phase is to be expected.
I'd have to check with the guy who runs my server, but it'd probably be cool if you joined us. We've been needing some more activity. The server was created for us over at the MLG forums, but maybe the server owner wouldn't mind if you guys joined.
Hmm, that actually sounds like a pretty good idea. They'd be great for running around in the dark, but they wouldn't be effective for mining since you'd have to be constantly switching between tools. Still though, I could see how something like that could work.
Good post, and it's true that the community decides the final name. However, if Notch starts calling it something different, I'm guessing that the community will adopt the name after a while. It's not like we've been calling hell "hell" for years now.
Personally, I hope the name gets changed because when I'm voice chatting with my friends I don't want my parents to here me say "go to hell," lol.
I was scared of night time before I had every actually seen the monsters, but after seeing them they weren't very intimidating. I have no problems breaking into caverns full of monters.
First I gather a dozen or so logs and then I build tools with them. After I have some tools, I find a nice stone mountain of some sort and I start digging a hollow. I use this hollow as a safe place during the night, and I can use the cobblestone I mined to make better tools. My next step is to find coal so that I can make torches, and after that I pretty much just work to build a nice home.
