    Oh hey, it's lilyo...

Haven't seen you around here for ages!

Textures are looking good although it's kind of a weird mix of rough, detailed textures (sand, dirt, bedrock?) and textures with much smoother cleaner lines (wood, stone, bricks). Still, they are definitely nice, really like the colours too!

Well certain materials are rougher than others is all i can say.

I was commissioned to redo all my older textures to 32x32 5 colors. Tried to make them go together as much as I could under the little time I had. Also working on two different computers with different color calibrations is way too stressing. Why can't all monitors be identical :(

Lilyo, good to see you here again :)
(Hard to believe it has been nearly a year since your last post on these forums)

It is peculiar that the packs are not showing up if they are in the right folder. I believe that for a pack to work, it needs to have a file called pack.mcmeta, do you have that in the .zip?
Yeah i figured it out. Some of the textures still aren't showing though, and I checked and they're named correctly inside the blocks folder. This new system is so complicated.

I've been super busy with art school and work lately, but someone commissioned me to redo my old 5 color 16x pixel art pack to 32x so they can use it for a game, and I'm currently testing them out in Minecraft too. I might pursue it or not, idk yet.

How exactly do we go about installing textures for the new launcher? I haven't played the game since before they got rid of the terrain file. I put all the blocks in separate files and named them appropriately and used the patched but none of the packs in the resource folder are showing up in the game.

That's kind of a cool idea, but 128 colors is way too much.
What you could do is take a painting, say, the Mona Lisa, open it in Photoshop and save it with 64 colors, and take the pallete that photoshop generates, and then make a ramp out of that, so then your pack would be based off of the Mona Lisa, which is kind of cool.

So I think the no profanity rule is ridiculous and condescending and it serves no purpose to the general userbase of the forum. If there are young kids on this forum, wouldn't it make more sense to have the filter for them only rather than everyone? Put the filter as a default that can be switched on and off from your settings so it shows up as censored for everyone who doesn't switch it off... and yes, i did make this topic just because i tried to call someone a sexy bast ard and had to put a space in the word so it didnt get censored

Make the logs a tad darker IMO, I think they would look great next to the planks like that!

I think the stone needs one darker colour too, it lacks a little contrast compared to the other textures (at least in the style you're doing it, the dirt looks like it has the same contrast but it suits the dirt more)

Anywho, I made a new log texture and randomized stone is awesome!

Hey look it's my pack :P

Maybe you should learn how to make some basic textures and learn about shape, color theory, and lighting before making a texture pack. Just an idea. Work with 16x

Random tiles. Not sure I like it, to be honest. I'm a fan of uniformity.
I always wanted to do something like that for libraries. I love it.

I've always loved your pixel art so much and the new updates are amazing I can't believe how nicely the pack has constantly improved since the start.

Well the benefit of CTM isn't that you're supporting a mod, but making your texture pack look better by giving you more power over what you can do. However that's a stretch with a 16x pack because no one has to patch their client to use your pack. It makes more sense for higher resolution packs to support things like CTM and random mobs though because Optifine and MCPatcher have them built in, so no one has to go out of their way to get the benefits of such mods.

So ya, I don't think you should be in a rush to add CTM support, but I wouldn't lump supporting it in the same category as say, supporting Tekkit or the Aether or something.
I dunno I like the challenge of being able to think of ways to make the textures worthwhile for building in the most ways possible and I know that if I make CTM textures not everyone would be using them which means they won't be using the pack as I intended it to be. So yeah, I won't be doing ctm support until after I'm done with everything else.

Also here's a 32x32, 3 colors per block pack I'm also working on
