Hey, I'm sure this has been asked before, but not within the last 4 pages. How does one go about crafting the patterns for banners that the original post has screenshots of? Or are they even craftable? I've searched just about everywhere and I don't see anything about that.

If you're looking for schematics to replace some of your buildings with or to add some decorations your builders can make, I think the best place to look may be the official forums for this mod.

    You can find it here:

    http://www.minecolonies.com/publicforum

If you don't know how to replace the schematic files, I think they made a tutorial on the official youtube channel for this mod.

A chill place to just play Minecraft with some friends and meet some people!

Near-Vanilla Survival is a survival server similar to how servers were back in the Beta release of Minecraft. This means that it's essentially just join, go out into the world and do whatever you please! There are a few supporting plugins to make things aesthetically pleasing and for you to protect your stuff as long as you are able to pay with ingame currency. There are also ranks to be earned, but I will be keeping them purely cosmetic and earned through playtime - which means that everyone is on an equal playing field! And now for the best part...

    Mods
Yes, as the name implies, this is a lightly modded server! This means that only mods that feel like they could be actual vanilla features or generally stick to a medieval theme are installed. The mods that are currently running on the server are:

Don't want to bother installing mods? Not to worry!

I made sure that installing the mods you need to play on the server is super easy. I have created a modpack on Curse, which I will keep updated with the server at all times, so that it's as easy as point-and-click to install! If you already have the Curse Client downloaded, all you have to do is search for "Official Modpack for Near-Vanilla Survival Server", or if you don't, you can find the modpack in this link: https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/near-vanilla-server-pack I've also included the server IP in the server list already in this modpack, so all you have to do is install it and play! If for any reason you still need the IP after installing the modpack, it is:

    nearvanilla.apexmc.co

    Plugins

As I said before, there are a few plugins in place that make running the server easier for me, and that make things a bit more fun for you! The most important one to note is FoxGuard. If you're familiar with WorldGuard, it works pretty similarly to that. Using ingame currency, which can be acquired by simply selling items at spawn, you can protect your builds and your stuff by asking me (or any mods, if I ever recruit any) to do it for you. You can even ask for custom premissions to allow your friends access as well!

Also, there is a rank system in place! There are 4 ranks that you can earn, not including the one you start with. These ranks are more symbolic of your playtime, and are earned simply by playing on the server! You do earn some new commands as you rank up, although they are purely cosmetic.

I also plan on doing server events now and then! I may install new plugins temporarily to set up competitive PVP arenas or mob arenas or maybe a building contest, whatever comes to mind! Things will always be interesting!

    Community

I have also created a website for the server! You can find it in this link: https://nearvanillasurvival.enjin.com/

This is where you can find the forums for the server to discuss things, meet people, and more importantly, report things that you feel need to be reported. This server is an environment for people to have a chill experience to just play Minecraft mostly as it is, and so if someone else is ruining the experience for you, I want a place for you to tell me about it. That being said, this server isn't necessarily family friendly. Cursing and things like that are allowed, but I will not tolerate things that genuinely ruin the experience of others on the server. You can see more on the rules on the server website listed above, if you wish.

I also want to be very connected to the community! I'm always open to suggestions on adding new mods, plugins, etc.

That pretty much sums up the server! No whitelist, no worries, hope to see you on Near-Vanilla Survival!

Nice, really cool of you to take this up. This is the one mod I would use all the time and it was sad to see it abandoned. Good luck finishing it!

Yea, that's why I had the biggest internal facepalm when dovahkiin mentioned it. I think it may be because the reinforced door doesn't require redstone in spite of being made entirely out of iron, just because it has a crank on it. In either case, it's not an issue for me anymore. :P

Oh, right...I'm dumb. I just tried right clicking it like a normal door and didn't think to use redstone at all. Sorry, my mistake!

So, it seems that in your latest 1.11.2 build, iron glass doors don't seem to work. I can craft and place them just fine, but they won't open. Wooden ones work just fine, although. I thought it may have been a mod conflict at first, but I tested it in an instance with only Malisis Doors and the same thing happened.

If you have a mod that lets you craft chain, that won't work.
Grab "base metals" and the orespawn mod (make sure you take the RELEASE, not the beta). There's a low tech crack hammer based crafting way.

That's actually what I was using for a 1.10.2 build I was using before, but unfortunately, that one still isn't updated to 1.11.2.

Railcraft has Steel (coal -> coal coke / coal coke + iron -> steel) but you need to build two multiblock structures first, the coke oven and blast furnace. Mekanism has steel too, I think that's a bit easier to make. Ancient Warfare has steel too (I think you have to cook iron in a normal furnace) but it's recipe is so easy that I would consider that cheating. There is a dedicated mod for Tinkers Construct (Tinkers Steelworks), but I think it's quite outdated.

Well, thanks both of you guys for the help, but unfortunately all of those mods are still in 1.10.2. I'll just have to keep looking around or wait for one of them to update.

Does anyone know of a low-tech mod for 1.11.2 that allows for the creation of steel in Tinkers? I'm avoiding high-tech mods for something I'm working on and so far the only thing I've found that makes a way to create steel is VoidCraft, but by the time you can create the machine, you will have already traveled to the End and back, and by that point why even use steel? I have a mod that adds steel dust and all that, but there is no means to crush blocks and no recipe to make it. Unless, there is a way make steel in Tinkers alone that I'm not aware of...

Oh, ok, that makes sense. I figured it was a deliberate feature when I got an achievement for it. Luckily, I have pretty decent armor on from the Armor Plus mod, so it was just a minor inconvenience and one hell of a surprise. Thanks for the quick reply!

I'm really liking the mod so far! I think for the most part, you've made it feel very organic to vanilla Minecraft. It feels like something that could be added by Mojang themselves.

One thing I'm confused about though. I'm not sure if I just keep missing something in the Mecum, but is there a more specific way to cast spells? Every time I try to cast one, it just explodes me as if I had tried to sleep in the Nether. It just says to select your spell, shift right click the Mecum, and then right click to cast the spell if you have the materials. Are spells not fully implemented yet? If not, it would probably be ideal if that was mentioned in the Mecum or there was at least a warning that you would explode. I was lucky enough to not try this inside my house, but I'm sure it's caused others a bit of tears.

posted a message on MineColonies Colony Simulator - Now in Playable Beta [1.12 1.11, 1.10, 1.8.9]

I tried out this mod a couple days ago on 1.11.2 along with a few others I have and I have to say, I'm very impressed with the AI of all the workers! They do get stuck on blocks every once in a while, but they usually figure it out pretty quickly. I do have a couple issues though...

First, and I don't know if it's just because I need to upgrade my warehouse or if it's just an incomplete feature, but my Deliverywoman never seems to take any items from the Inventories of both my Lumberjack and my Miner. It's always up to me to clear them out. Do the double chests account for all of the space in the warehouse, or does the warehouse only count a few slots in the chests as things the Deliveryman will take from? Because I have loads of cobblestone and wood that I store away in there, but I'm always the one who has to bring them there. She will take items from the warehouse and deliver them, just as she's supposed to, although.

Another thing is that my Lumberjack tends to hoard eggs for some reason? I have a chicken coop set up not far from her hut and she will sometimes stand there collecting the eggs they lay. She then stores them in her hut Inventory and it takes up a lot of space since the Deliverywoman won't take them out. It's funny, but also kind of annoying.

Overall though, great work with the mod! I'm excited to see what else is to come.

Found a bug / broken feature - I hope this is the right place to post about it!

Using mod version 1.62-dev-75 (uploaded on Jan 5, 2017) on Minecraft version 1.11.2 with "Liteloader 1.11.2 with Forge 1.11.2" and Optifine.

The auto-refill (depleted stacks) and repair-friendly refill features do not work for me. Not sure what else to say! Depleted stacks (blocks, rails for e.g) are not replaced despite having back-up stacks in my inventory. Same for tool replacement.

Thanks for the great mod nonetheless, I will certainly continue using it!

Yes, it appears that I am having the same issue in the 1.11 version.

I don't know if it's helpful at all, but I accidentally found out that autofill DOES work when you use the drop key to empty out a stack. For example, I dropped a stack of 3 cobblestone on the ground with my drop key, and it refilled the hotbar slot with more cobblestone. Maybe this is just an error within the mod itself?

What's different for me is that autofill does work correctly when my tools break, which is super handy. It just doesn't refill my blocks for me unless I use the drop key to empty my stack.

Edit: I used the Curse Client to install this mod, so I can only assume I am using the most recent alpha version of it and the most recent version of forge. I do have other mods installed, but none of them involve inventory editing, except maybe some GUI changes that Just Enough Items introduce. But that works just like Not Enough Items.

Are you making sure to install the Animation API as well? You speak as if you only installed one mod, instead of 2: Animated Player and Animation API. If you are, and have the proper version of Forge and installed the mods correctly (i.e. placing them into the mods folder as already discussed), everything should be fine unless you have other mods which may not be compatible.

I've installed latest version of this mod and also the latest animationAP.
    Forge version is 10.13.4.1490.
    So I don't understand why this isn't working for me ? :(
No crash report or something it's just doing no animations :S
    Help me please :S

Do you have any other mods installed? Any mods that change the player model, like Mo' Bends or More Player Models, will affect Animated Player mod. If you do, try removing them and running Animated Player. If you still have problems, double check your versions of Forge and Animated Player and Animation API. If they are all fine, I don't know what to tell you besides that. Someone with more knowledge than myself would be useful.
