posted a message on [32x] [Bedrock] [Official] Dokucraft, The Saga Continues

It's good to be back! The migration/GDPR shenanigans made the old Dokucraft TSC thread go the way of the dodo, so unfortunately all those posts were lost. However, all the images posted in the thread were added to the dokustash by CCCode, so most people's contributions are safe.

Some notable events since the forum thread disappeared:

    • All textures for Minecraft 1.13 were completed
    • Tetsune created a Minecraft server for Dokucraft
    • SyndiShanX ported Dokucraft to Bedrock edition
    • I ported Light's Optifine features to High and Dark
    • The stash's selection of 3D models has been greatly expanded

I'm working on a 3D add-on that will add a complete set of fences, doors and trapdoors, but I still need a design for an acacia fence. Anyone have suggestions?

Why use of high render distance? If it makes lag for you just play on normal render distance, I play on tiny render since 1.2.5 same laptop and I get 20 to 37 maximum. And now I'm used to it lol.

    Because this.

I find it unfathomable how you continue to make Optifine better and better and better. Extreme render distance was already a dream come true, and now we get one-click installation too? Amazing!

I'd just like to know one thing, though. Why is it only possible to donate a set amount? Or am I missing something? I'd love to give something back, but I can't justify a ten dollar donation.

Also, do you know why increasing the render distance beyond Far causes a disproportionate framerate drop? Switching from Far to Far+16 halves my framerate (70 to 35), while Far+32 only brings it down another 10 fps or so.

I'm having a bit of a problem with clear water - I can't disable it. Water stays opaque on vanilla Minecraft, but once I install Optifine it becomes clear. Toggling the Clear Water setting doesn't do much except make the underwater brightness changes less erratic, plus it causes grass to spread to underwater, which I definitely don't want.

Plus, Advanced OpenGL has a strange effect on underwater entities when it is enabled. Top: Fast/Fancy, bottom: OFF.

I'm also getting white lines on dropped items and items held in my hand. It seems to generalise to the splash text on the title screen.

This is on HD_U_B6. I varied the settings for AA, AF and mipmapping, but none of them seemed to make any difference. Could I have some advice on how to fix this?

Good to see that Optifine is still going strong. However, the game crashed on me once on 1.4.6_HD_U_B4, causing the chunk I was in to become corrupted, after which it was re-generated from the seed. In case this is useful to report to you, here is the log.

I have no idea how a half-assed custom recipe mod like this makes it to the spotlight.

Hmm, I seem to get some issues with the multithreaded version. Occasionally, some chunks are not visible from surface to bedrock even when breaking or placing blocks in them. I tried switching OpenGL to Fast or Off but apparently that didn't work, I had to switch render distance to fix it. Also, water flows that are being updated flicker between visible and invisible.

    Multithreaded version, woo!

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but is there any chance of adding this mod's functionality to Optifine, possibly as an on/off toggle? It doesn't conflict, so that's a plus.

This only works in CREATIVE mode

Oh, that is good to know! I'm always annoyed when I have to fly down to the ground in order to be able to place a bed when it gets dark. I'm going to set it to Always Day right away.

This works great on my slow/old work computer - framerate jumped to 30-60FPS from about 10-15.

This also works great on my sick-and-wrong home machine (which runs Skyrim with FSAA enabled and all settings maxed out, at well over 60 FPS @ 1680x1050) in that I can crank view distances, etc. and make the game world seem, well, bigger. There's something to be said for seeing a mountain in the distance, and knowing the edge of vision range is half a kilometer away. :biggrin.gif:

Totally. You can make some great screenshots on Farview Far. I can't move without my FPS dropping to below 10, but standing still leaves it at a respectable 30.

It's just a shame that the shadows under overhangs don't update until you get close to them.

    posted a message on [1.8.7 / 1.7.10 and earlier][update 4/23] MCPatcher HD fix 5.0.3
    Quote from MathewAlden

    Hi. Karl.
This is a bit of a suggestion.

So... lots of texture packs come with great custom water and lava and things like that. However, plenty of great texture packs DO NOT come with these files. That means that MC reverts to the original water and lava textures. However, MCPatcher assumes that all texture packs come with custom animations, so it automatically removes the default animations coded into the game.

This is what I'm suggesting. Instead of saying "If a texture pack is used, then remove the scripted animations," it thinks "If a texture pack is used AND the texture pack has custom water and lava files in it, then and only then remove the default coded animations.

You know what I mean? This would be great. Please consider it.

    -MathewAlden

There's an option for that. Go to the options tab and change the animation settings.

The calculations needed to cut off the corners will probably cost more that the rendering of the corners.

Aha. I guess that makes sense. I was kind of hoping there would be a variable somewhere that says "Draw chunks in these X;Z coordinates" but I guess it's not that simple. It never is, is it?

Never touched my graphics card options, and mipmap didn't do that in 1.8.1

Windows 7 64bit, Intel HD Grapihics card.

You can add it to the buttom of the buglist, because I can go without it and don't want to bother you.

Happened to me once before. When I clicked the mipmaps option a few times more the effect went away. Is it impossible to enable mipmaps without this happening?

Is anyone else getting black screen after installing Optifine on untouched vanilla 1.0?

Sounds like you forgot to delete META-INF.

    Known issues:
    - Fast texturepack switching not reloading foliagecolor.png and grasscolor.png (to be checked)
    - No support for animated terrain textures (in progress)

Please test and report back :cool.gif:

You're also doing animated terrain? That's great! Oh, don't forget the animated item sprites, those are cool too.

The new version boosts my FPS to over a hundred on starting up. Oh, how I've missed you, high framerate. I'm eagerly awaiting the MT version.

You know, seeing the world on Farview Normal render distance with fog disabled made me wow, and also wonder: Is there any way of making all the chunks on a given view distance render in a circle, or more simply, an octagon, instead of a square? Currently the fog also obscures a circular part of the terrain, so the chunks in the corners of the rendered terrain are effectively wasted processing. Cutting off the corners may help a lot on higher view distances.

Is there a way to disable minimaps?

If you mean mipmaps, then yes. Just set it to 0.
