posted a message on Question: Would my pc be able to run minecraft with shaders at around 20 to 30 fps

Just a note, but allocating more RAM will generally not increase performance, and should only be done if you start seeing issues common of not having enough allocated (as in, capped RAM use with on and off or permanent freeze). Too much RAM allocation has been shown to, albeit slightly, hurt average frame rates. It also increases the time between JAVA garbage collections, but in turn makes them take longer, which may (or may not) be noticeable at times.

Unless you're using high render distances and/or mods and have discovered and know you need more, I'd leave it, and I hate, hate, HATE making blanket statements, but 2 GB will probably be enough outside of high render distances and/or mods. You need to take care not to blindly allocate RAM as though it were a performance increasing action, as it can have adverse effects down the line, like I did which is why I'm mentioning this. Case in point, I allocated 3 GB on a PC with 16 GB RAM and started getting this in more recent versions. I now allocate 4 GB, and increasing my page file helped (strangely though RAM use is still high but a bit lower than it was then). I would never allocate as much RAM as the PC has. IF it ever needs that much you'll have severe issues due to hard disk paging.

Performance is reliant almost entirely on CPU and GPU. Other factors would be hard disk and even RAM speed would matter more than amount. Rule of thumb is, RAM allocation quota is merely something that there needs to be enough of for the more worse case scenarios, or the game can start hitching or freeze.

Yes, dedicating ram does NOT increase performance, it only makes the gamer run a little bit more smoother. In addition, looking at the person's SPECS running at least 4gbs of ram will further stabilize his/her game play, however, if such person did not have such SPECS running MineCraft at 4gbs of ram could further decrease his/her performance. Furthermore, allocating a certain amount of ram can have an IMPACT either increasing OR decreasing.

As a Developer (Not just MineCraft but Java and Unity, and some other game developing engines.) I can tell you that the amount of memory dedicated to a certain specification can have a great impact on game play, that is if your PC can handle it.

Great idea! This shouldn't even be hard to implement as they've been done on modded clients such as Forge and Liteloader. Second of all, I think this should've been added a long time ago.

If you are logged into your account before the time, then you'll be fine. Furthermore, if you're not logged in then you won't have to wait for long, maxim time is about 20 minutes.

To prevent this from happening, you as a player MUST be in the designated chunk, or rename all animals with a name tag. (There is also a gamerule command for this problem if you're willing to "cheat")

So, the only logical way of disabling mob spawns is, /difficulty 0, if you don't wan't to cheat, you can place slabs to prevent mob spawning.

As the snapshots are experimental, this is 100% likely, I'd recommend waiting for about a week or so until the problem is resolved.

This wouldn't be surprising behavior from Mojang to be fair. It's a shame that the game has strayed from its original simplicity. Is there anyway that you guys know I could possibly play with a friend privately? I've tried to make a server but I have not been able to find the file for the version Beta 1.7.

True, it should be quite easy for them to implement the feature in, however, I wouldn't be 100% certain they'd add it in.

posted a message on ✧✧✧☞How to put any block on your head in vanilla Minecraft!☜✧✧✧
    Quote from AlexanderA72»
Using the command /replaceitem entity @p slot.armor.head minecraft:(block) , you can place any block on your head. Certain things like food items, tools, etc. aren't considered blocks and therefor cannot be placed on your head using this command. This command is basically like the plugin on some servers that allows you to do /hat , except this is in VANILLA MINECRAFT! You can impress your friends and do many fun things with this. Also, you can use /replaceitem entity @p slot.armor.chest minecraft:(chestplate) , /replaceitem entity @p slot.armor.legs minecraft:(leggings) , and /replaceitem entity @p slot.armor.feet minecraft:(boots) . In these 3 slots you can only place armor which you are able to normally put in them :( .Here is an example of a block in the head slot:
Doesn't this spawner looks like I have a cage around my head? XD

You can do many things with this command and hopefully this helps!

This is the most efficient way to do it, but I'd recommend using @a to troll some of your friends.

An insight to this would be, @a slot.armor.head minecraft:pumpkin

I don't think this would be done as Mojaing really doesn't support previous versions of MineCraft | Anymore, that is,

Theoretically, yes. However, it depends on how many frames you're comfortable with, a couple ways to boost frames would be:

    • Use a less graphic dependent shader pack (My recommendation, SFLP.
    • Dedicate more RAM to MineCraft, done in the launcher (Tutorials can be found)
    • Download OpTifine, and play around with the settings to make your game playable.
