The mod is free! Where did you get the information that it would cost something?

What error message are you getting?

Jul 18, 2014Kulttuuri posted a message on Mod Spotlight: Quick Hotbar ModMod works in both singleplayer and multiplayer. Currently the only problem is that if you are connecting to a server, you need to have the mod both in server and client as switching items is handled in serverside. I am however trying to come up with a solution so that you would only need this mod installed in the client.Posted in: News

Aleksi, lead developer for MinecraftEDU here. I can attend for behalf of MinecraftEDU. We are still using MCP for the coding part and there are 1+ years of daily experience from Minecraft modding with me.
To keep it more "official", Tonsse from team MinecraftEDU can be my backup person (but i can make it without problems)
Bringing up bit more in-depth agenda before the event would be great too, like someone did already mention. There is also a project that we might get started that could need more discussion with the API, but i'll get in contact with you guys after some time if necessary as we still want to keep it more private -

Basically the premade maps are protected, so students can only build on certain areas / cannot destroy blocks from certain areas and students cannot go past map borders: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28919118/mcEdu/24102011/10_student_protection.png
PVP and monsters are off by default on MinecraftEdu.
With MinecraftEdu servers, teachers can get the server up and running within three clicks and can set teacher password, which will be asked when users are logging or users can login as student if they do not know the password: http://minecraftedu.com/img/screenies/MCEdu-screenshot-27.jpg
Teachers will be automatically opped and they will be granted option to use the teacher panel to tweak settings, give theirselves items or set assignments to students.

Auto-completing give item panel: http://minecraftedu.com/img/screenies/MCEdu-screenshot-21.jpg
Everything is currently localized to english and finnish, but we are adding more languages in the future.
Currently teachers can freeze/unfreeze, mute/unmute all students, but we will just write a new player list from a scratch for the next release so that teachers can invidually control students.
As for the teaching part: We will at first target it for lower grades, classes 2-6 to teach math, geography, history, languages, teamwork, creativity, but we've also been contacted from higher educational institutions with ideas like "demonstrating how production management works". At first we will be providing just MP maps, but in the future single player assignment maps and also ways for teacher to demonstrate effects in their projector.
Hope this clarifies some points.
Best,
Aleksi - To post a comment, please login.

Hey,
What Minecraft version are you using? I did however notice some of these graphical glitches with the mod happening but they we're not very major when testing, cannot remember which Minecraft version that happened with.

Version 1.05 now LIVE!
- Mod now supports Minecraft 1.11, 1.11.1 and 1.11.2. Download here.
- Added ability to bind mouse buttons to mod keybindings. You should now be able to bind mouse back / forward buttons for changing inventory rows.
As always, quickhotbar.com is now updated, latest source for the mod is available on github and project site is now up-to-date on curse. Enjoy!

Fantastic. I'll start uploading to Curse then!

OK - I've updated the mod to support 1.11 (this version should also work with 1.11.1 & 1.11.2). I've also redone the whole keybinding system to also support binding mouse keys (I've prevented however so that you cannot bind left / right mouse keys to prevent accidental keybindings).
Can you test that the version works before I distribute it to Curse? Here's link to the build. Let me know once you have it tested and what minecraft version you used (1.11, 1.11.1 or 1.11.2)

Sorry for the late reply – back from holidays now
Hmm, I'm not sure. I'll need to test. I could however try adding that functionality in as it seems like logical thing to do. And I'll work on the update this week, too

Are you using Minecraft 1.7.10 also? It should work with that version What error are you getting? Can you see the mod in client's mods section in-game? Note that you need to install this mod both into your client and server.

I am trying to start it early this week. Forge for 1.10 was just released so I haven't got around it yet

Probably. I don't know how spigot works, I've never used it before myself. Looks like there is also this project, which seems like you can install on the server and then have both forge and spigot plugins working: https://www.spongepowered.org/

OK! Updated mod to run on Forge 1.9.4. Added link to front page of the topic. You can also grab it directly from here!

Started to look into it right now!

Yup, if you only have the mod installed on your client it is sending a lot of packets. If you can, you can also add the mod into your server for server-side assistance so the client will only send one packet to the server, which should fix the problem
There could also be some spigot setting to set the threshold of how many packets can the client send within certain time.
