In case anyone's interested, I'm about to start streaming some Pantheon Continuing my playthrough I started two weeks ago. Will have four hours of it then moving on to other games, I'll be on 12 hours in total raising money for Extra Life and Children's Miracle Network hospitals
If you want to come watch:
I'll be on from 2PM till 6PM US Central Time with Pantheon.
Thanks for anyone who stopped by, moving on to Town of Salem now, was a lot of fun doing Pantheon
As dolangoobs (Dylanamite) stated above, yes, I did indeed have some issues on my stream, but I think it was mostly Minecraft itself causing issues -- it kept crashing anytime I tried to load a 1.7 map, while 1.6 ones and 1.8.3 worked fine.
Additionally: Just a heads up, after some feedback, I've learned that Ethereum Caverns is really, really, REALLY horribly balanced. I may or may not put out an updated version of this mini-ctm but more likely I'll just take the feedback into consideration when I get it attached to the rest of the primary map it's going to become a part of.
As dolangoobs is wrapping up his stream as I type this I'm gonna go live and steal his idea and do the same stuff Prioritizing maps of people who are in the stream!
Link:
Should have edited this last night but (obviously) am not streaming anymore, will post again when I go live for more Jam playthroughs.
Maps Played:
- Dolangoobs (Dylan/Dylanamite)
- NBTrainor
- Taschneide
- Sylf
All four maps were pretty awesome and did a good job of fitting with the theme.
By the way, Tasch, I still hate you. I still really, really hate you, for making me
parkour over void. Don't worry, just kidding. Mostly. Sort of.
Well my friend wasn't able to test for me so here's the map!
I don't have a full page of story typed out like Sketch (:P), but here's what I can tell you:
-This is eventually going to become Intersection III of my current CTM project, Ethereum Caverns.
-As such, I opted to give you starting gear relatively reflecting what you would have at this point in the map rather than balance this version around you starting fresh and ending well-equipped, then re-balancing it when it gets included in the main map.
-I haven't done an ENORMOUS amount of playtesting so there could very well be things that are broken within it that I haven't come across; please let me know if you find any.
This Jam was a ton of fun and I really hope to get to participate in all future ones too!
Edit: Figured I should probably put some info here about the map since I was pretty vague before:
Map Name: Ethereum Caverns
Version: 1.8.3
Type: Linear Branching
Objectives: 3 (gray, light gray, cyan)
Estimated Difficulty by Area: 6/10, 4/10, 8/10
Edit #2: Mirror download since I've had at least a few people say Mega.co.nz doesn't work for them.
Not quite as pretty as some of the others in here, but here's an album of screenshots from my map. Hoping to get a friend to playtest a bit of it for me in the early morning, if he can't do it then I"ll just be releasing it as-is and hope the balance is close to right.
I'll probably be just a liiiiiittle bit late, had a full day long tournament I was running with a club ;_; but I'm working on it now and it will DEFINITELY be up by midday tomorrow, though I'm going to try to get it ready for release tonight!
Do you mind me using this nasty beast for a future map ?
Absolutely! Another big benefit to using either cave spiders or baby zombies is that they're under a block tall so they can invade in all sorts of little nooks and crannies
The real benefit to doing it with a cave spider is that the spider can't be killed without setting off the ender crystal -- the crystal's hit box is large enough to encompass the entire spider, while anything two-blocks-tall wouldn't necessarily have that same restriction.
Got my very first episode of an LP of this live now. There's some pretty awful audio desync issues unfortunately, but after checking the footage the desync isn't present in episode 2, so hopefully this is the only one that's bad.
Wound up not having the time/inspiration to finish my own map, sadly. Will still complete it as a three-objective mini-CTM and post it to the main CTM Community thread when it's finished, however, and very excited to see what everyone else has come up with! Have one area finished plus the primary intersection/spawn area but that's it.
