posted a message on Broken Skins on Old Launcher | New Launcher Won't Launch

    Hello,

I am currently using the latest version of Minecraft on their old launcher. My issue is that nobody's skin loads on Multiplayer servers. They ALL take on the look of Alex. No personal skins will load.

I have reset my skin, re-installed my game (including deleting all .minecraft folders), and anything else I could find online, to no avail.

If I use the new launcher, I get the infamous "Stuck on loading terrain" error. This thread can be found here.

    Any suggestions?

Use the old launcher. For help with mods please use the appropriate section.

The old launcher removes my skin when loading the game - the new launcher keeps my skin saved. The old launcher is incompatible with the mods I try - I have posted this in the appropriate section, as well, but the old launcher is not ideal for me, even playing vanilla.

Looking for more helpful solutions than reverting back to an old launcher that, for some reason, removes my skin when launching.

I have the latest[/b] Minecraft launcher, loading Minecraft 1.12.2. If I try to log-on to any server[/b], singleplayer, multiplayer, I will get stuck on the "Loading Terrain" screen until my Minecraft crashes 5-10 minutes later.

My OS is Windows 10, 64bit.

    I have tried:[/b]

Re-installing Java, after completely removing the program [/b]from my computer and[/i] all my browsers. I have installed the latest[/b]versions of JDK and JRE suitable for my system directly[/b] from their website. I was met with the same result.

On the old [/b]Minecraft launcher, I can sign onto any server and play without a problem[/i]. However, absolutely no mods work[/i]alongside it. I have tried installing Forge and was met with the infamous "these libraries have failed to download' [/i]error, and the Optifine/Wolfram/any other hack client's java .exe will not open upon double-clicking them.[/i] EVERY OTHER[/i] java .exe file opens without a problem, though.

If anybody has any possible solutions it would be greatly appreciated. I want to play on the latest launcher and be able to download mods, but I cannot seem to do this. I have looked for hours for any possible solution given on repeat threads, and have been met with dead-ends, so making my own thread is my last resort.[/b]

    In-Game Name: Kolugo
Server Ambition: I've always thoroughly enjoyed economy servers, and the more player-based the better. I enjoy a server that implements a sense of camaraderie. I like participating with others on a moving project (towns, in this case). As is any competitor's goal, I'd like to see my own town rise up in wealth above any other; I'd like to build a self-sufficient town that provides people the necessities of surviving and thoroughly built structures that'd impress old and new players.
    Age (Not Required): 19
Minecraft Experience: I'm experienced in server development, having briefly run my own server in the past, and have been a part of many other server communities. I take from these communities ideas and suggestions for a variety of types of servers. Over the years I've server hopped from completely vanilla, through minigame hub servers like Mineplex, prison, FTB and tekkit, to servers that implemented guns and jetpacks (leaving them due to a variety of reasons, the most common of them all being either they shut down, or my friends had urged me to go on a different server). I've barely stuck to one solid server for more than a few months over the years but, having exhausted all my own ideas with Minecraft, I've taken to settling down and building my own tediously built towns.
How Did You Find Us?: Keyword search for servers with towny.
Have you ever been banned from a server before (it's ok) if so, explain and don't lie: I have not.

    IGN: Kolugo
    Age: 19
    Gender: Male
Skype Username: You can PM me for the username.
Would you use Mumble: I have it.
Picture of one of your builds(Can be done over Skype , Link or Video):

    Timezone: Central Time
Favorite Building Block: The one that doesn't lag when I'm trying to build.
Favorite Biome to Build in: I like working with new and challenging biomes (extreme hills, mesa, taiga, nether) to figure out what type of builds and blocks look best within the biomes.
Strengths: I can be abstract and flexible with my builds; I do not like any cliche, unfitting, or square buildings (torch in item frame, checkered floors, earth toned blocks in the nether, obsidian builds in the end, solid mycellium outdoor decoration). I like to be detailed, fill in each gap of a town/building, and make it look as impressive as I can, even if it's not to scale with builders from voxel, PMC, etc (which, 99% of the time, they're not).
Weaknesses: The hardest part about anything is getting started.
When did you start playing Minecraft: Since BETA

Part 2: Learning You Minecraft Skills
On a scale from 1-10 Rate yourself and an explaination why.
Building: 8/10 I've a mentality of putting time to build one structure, then trying my best to top that structure in my next build.
Fighting Mobs: 10/10 You avoid arrows, point, and click your mouse, right?
    Fighting People: 10/10
You avoid arrows, point, and click your mouse, right?
Farming: 10/10 With the right tutorial, anyone can build a farm of sheep, iron golems, pigs, etc.
Redstone: 5/10 I have a little experience building with redstone (which was simply due to lack of interest about it) but, again, anything I need to know (excluding obviously those enormous working clocks and computers made from redstone), I can usually find in a Youtube tutorial.

    Part 3: Advanced Questions:
Expected to have 3+ line answers for most questions.
Who is your Favorite Minecraft Youtuber, why: I don't watch a whole lot of people playing Minecraft. I just like to play it myself. that being said, I like watching LDShadowlady sometimes.
Favorite part of Minecraft: Minecraft is a game that can be, and do, anything. With Bukkit, tekkit, ftb, players can, and have, turned the game into just about anything they dreamed about. It's an ever-expanding, ever-updating, player-run sandbox game. I've been playing for years, and have yet to see an end or limit to what Minecraft can do. If you're asking what's my favorite thing to do on the game, it's build. :)
What makes you better than the average Minecrafter: considering the average player base of minecraft consists of children aged 10-15, i'm older than them
Tell me about yourself: i'm Kolugo, nice to meet you.
    Why are you applying:
I like the concept of small communities because there's less worry of grief or flamers, the fellowship and all-around trust they tend to have. I like the idea of working on group projects with others on the server, and coming up with neat events and sruvival mini-games with the community. I'd like to build my own self-sufficient town (I like gold) on the server where others can go to quickly stock up on survival necessities, buy from shops (where villagers would be the "cashiers"), or buy their own house plots from me.
How much do you see yourself playing: At most, I'm usually online every other day, if not each day.
Why are you the best option for the server:
I'm experienced in server development, having briefly run my own server in the past. Because I've played Minecraft so long, I've ran the course of a range of different servers from vanilla to drug servers, factions to minigame hub servers like Mineplex. I've server hopped (leaving servers due to them being shut down, griefed, or friends urging me to join others) and have taken with me ideas I've thought of, and suggestions I've seen, written down in notepad++. It has over 10KB of storage, 200+ lines of ideas.
Oh no! Someone pranked you. What would you do: laugh it off. it was just a prank, right?
Do you know how to work a nether hub: I've created one before on another vanilla server, Universal Rush. I left that one due to the lack of community (i.e. nobody is ever on anymore), and the server seems un-open to any suggestions regarding the server whatsoever.
