Please inform us about version for 1.9 update. It's really hard to play without inventory tweaks ><

Good news for you, I just finished getting things to compile on 1.9.

It's probably buggy (as is Forge), but it might work.

As has been the case for a while now, builds are automatically uploaded to CurseForge.

Pushed 1.60 to release, since it's been siting as 'beta' for quite a while with very few new reported issues at this point.

    • Network handling for server-assisted mode should be more consistent.
    • Sorting works in creative mode inventory again.
    • Move-all-of-type shortcut works more often in situations where the first item in the section was not the clicked item.
    • Horses/Donkeys equipped with a chest are now sortable.
    • Default sort of items not in the item tree altered to provide better results in most cases.
    • Mushroom stew auto-refill works again.
    • Various other small changes

This is likely to be the last release for 1.8 versions of Minecraft.

I don't see anything related to inventory tweaks in the first one.

The second looks like something else having done something bad to the inventory and badly confused the mod -- could well be the same thing that messed up Nevermine in your first crash.

I did not see the link posted showing the downloads... So my bad there. However, I even did some extensive research looking for a 1.8.9 version. The mod owner needs to update the thread as it states the most up to date version is 1.8, not 1.8.9.

That's because it's not released yet -- although 'beta' is more-or-less RC so I'll probably be doing that soon (particularly with 1.9 coming out in about a week)

How would I go about adding compatibility to immersive engineering in my game? The hotkeys do not sort items in immersive engineering chests. Is there a config file I can add to or something?

See the docs -- although I am not sure what IEng is doing, so that method may or may not work correctly. If it doesn't there's nothing you can do, the mod needs to set up support on their end.

I've also moved the doc site source to it's own repo on github now that I moved everything to an organization setup, to make it easier to update without messing up the mod's branches.

I would suggest that the mod be set to keep a backup whenever it is reverting to default, so that the error can be corrected in a less labor-destroying way. If it wasn't he mod's fault, maybe keep a backup every time it runs, as it appears the configs aren't every safe.

    https://github.com/Kobata/inventory-tweaks/blob/develop/src/main/java/invtweaks/InvTweaksConfigManager.java#L166-L168

It's had code to copy the 'broken' ones to backup since I made it override the main files on an error (as it otherwise will just crash when there's an error in the files).

The issue as I understand it is as follows:
Middle-click on an itemstack to sort inventory, the cursor given an itemstack of the said item because the user have the rights to do so, then that stack gets inserted somewhere in the sorting process.
I.e. a bad choice of hotkey.
Even more so with Ctrl+Shift clicks when NEI is installed.

It's happened even clicking the manual sort buttons for me. Dev might be better, at least it worked for me when I tested it in SP creative.

I don't understand, why not add a throttling threshold? Also, whatever you do cause items to multiply if a user have OP4 or equivalent rights.
New stacks of items pop out of nowhere.

The design of the sorting currently doesn't lend itself well to trying to insert delays. I have a few ideas on fixing that, but those are more long-term things.

The release versions are really bad at players with creative mode, dev should be somewhat better. Although I'm still not entirely sure where in the process the random items tend to come from, nothing ever calls a middle-click emulation.

I'm also having this problem and am wondering if anyone knows what the cause of this might be? I kind of assume its got something to do with something serverside, but if its an issue that I can solve I'd definitely like to know as I love this mod and would love to be able to use it in multiplayer.

In my case it only seems to do this when trying to sort a chest, when sorting my inventory it works normally.

It usually is something server side, particularly if you're playing on bukkit-based servers.

I really have never been able to reproduce these errors locally, since it's probably something about the server configuration and possibly includes client-server latency. Servers running forge with a copy of inventory tweaks on the server can use an alternate inventory manipulation method that should be less picky, but that only really helps if the server is willing to do that (and the nature of said alternate mode makes some servers hesitant as the normal methods of preventing inventory manipulation purposefully don't work on it).

Will official InvTweaksTree.txt contain mod items in the future? Seems that it can be used on any modpacks without problems now. At least tools and food sincethey are most popular things in sorting, i guess.

No real plans for it, it's easy enough to supply a custom one with packs/etc.

Although, if it wan't so dependent on the exact ordering within the tree file, it might be a good idea to allow multiple files so separate ones can be provided for different mods, now that it is using consistent IDs.

    thanks for your reply

obsolete post: went back to version "1.58-147" instead "1.59-dev-152" all fine now

That's some mod called 'modinfo' (according to the tag on the log anyway), there's nothing that does that in this mod.

I found a bug with this mod and Mine & Blade Battlegear 2 involving auto-refilling items.

Here's the crash report. (It's contained in spoilers, because it's long!)

I'll also post this crash report on the Mine & Blade Battlegear 2 forum page as well.

    To repeat this crash:

1)Install MCForge, InvTweaks and Mine & Blade Battlegear

    2)Equip a pickaxe in the main-hand slot

3)Have a pickaxe of the same type in your inventory

4)Mine until that main-hand pickaxe breaks.

    5)CRASHTIME, FUNTIME!

Auto-refill is very sensitive to hotbar changes, so don't expect it to work well with any mod that changes the hotbar behavior/add slots to it/etc.

Hi! I have a problem with configurating the sorting of InvTweaks! I want it to sort my items like that:

    http://www.myimg.de/?img=20150510141756ec40f.png

And that's what my InvTweaksRules.txt looks like:

    http://www.myimg.de/?img=asScreenShot2178acd.png

But it seems InvTweaks uses still the normal sorting rules, except for the pickaxe, the shovel and the axe.

Can anyone please tell me what's wrong? ^^

(I'm pretty sure the IDs are correct)

1.7's updates made raw IDs not work directly in rules (numerical IDs are no longer consistent, and string IDs can't easily be told apart from tree file names) -- add whatever you want to the tree file and then use the name you assigned to it there for rules.

    Quote from Hugones»

Does anyone know how to make the mod sort by id and strickly by id on all non-locked intances without any fancy categories?

In other words, when I'm playing and my chests start to get more and more clogged I'd like for a way to set the mod to sort it by the items id's, the way the mod sorts everything in the image below doesn't work for me at all. (Cobblestone id 4, then moss stone id 48 followed by end stone id 121 and then dirt id 3)

I'd like to be able to hit the sort key on the chest and have it look like this:

I sorted it manually using the ids that NEI shows me.

Any help on the matter is apreciated.

Because the numerical ids are not guaranteed to be consistent between savefiles/servers, they aren't used anywhere in the sorting process. In the absence of an order from the tree file, items will be sorted lexically by their string id (and then some other criteria such as damage level if that is identical): "minecraft:cobblestone", "minecraft:dirt", "minecraft:mossy_cobblestone", "my_mod:some_item", etc.

I've been running Java 8 for months with no problems directly attributable to it.

1.59 is for MC1.8 only, correct?

The java 8 issues in FML are for mods using it, not running the game on it. (Those issues were fixed a while ago, there were a couple)

1.59 doesn't work on 1.7.10, and as far as I know there's no FML/Forge version for anything except plain 1.8. 1.8.3 may or may not require an update when it happens, that depends on what ended up changing when everything I need updates.

    1.59 is out

See the OP or curseforge for details, I've had to copy that changelog enough places today :)

As a warning: I'm going to investigate moving to java 8 for the next release after this one -- supposedly FML mostly supports it now, and there's a few deprecated functions that I've had to keep using because of Java 6 Mojang's been pushing it with the launcher installing a local copy, and the stats I've seen have a very large majority (> 2/3) of people already on java 8.

I am trying to add compatibility for the Backpacks and Ironchests to the TweaksTree, but I have no idea what the item IDs should be or how to format a mod item correctly. Any chance you can add built in compatibility for the next build?

    http://inventory-tweaks.readthedocs.org/en/latest/#tweaking-the-item-tree

You can find item names via F3+H (in any 1.8, or 1.7 with inventory tweaks installed)

Try 161, I made some configuration changes to the builder -- it looks like it was just including an old version of the .class file instead of recompiling it.

What version of forge works with the Dec 1st Dev Build? I can't seem to get forge to work with it.

According to the build file I was using 1244, but I just updated that -- I'm not sure why there would've been any issues since I didn't have to change anything other than the version number though.
