    I dont know were to put a suggestion but.... I think it would be nice if the villagers could knew when a part of his building is missing and they could make the reparations they need.... when playing with some mods that add block moving/destroying mobs, and i dont wanna run into a village just to find out that some buildings have mising walls/floor because a pack of super creepers was playing around there....

    where it says this mod is supposed to be easy?



    besides, my suggested changes are not that complicated....is just a neat way to make use of all the thrash you get from fossils...did you wanna keep ignoring skulls mid game when you get them from fossils? do you prefer having a chest full of broken helmets/swords?



    also...i purposely didn't touch the whole revival thing with Dinosaurs, because that's the "meat" of the mod, that's why people download it in the first place, so it will remain mostly the same and wont disturb anybody who is used to the way the mod is now...

    I just wanna give a little advice to all of the modders



    This is very important,specially if is you are making a mod and want to keep the immersion, please don't rely on people having to use NEI or visiting the Wiki to undestand what to do with your mod or how to make X block... all the information should be aviable IN GAME , I highly recommend having books, with all the documentation about how to get started with your mod



    by example...Azanor the all mighty creator of Thaumcraft a very big and complex mod, and what's all the info you need to get started? craft a wand, use it on a bookshelf and done... you don't need to go to the wiki or even using NEI to learn anything about the mod... that's good design



    Im not saying that if you make a "dirt to diamonds" mod, you need to make an in game book about it, but if you are going to make a semi complex mod, please....provide the player with a guide to understand what to do.... something like "getting started with X" or "blood magic for dummies" so people wont need to go to the wiki or watch a mod spotlight every time they want to build something like a multiblock structure or a special recipe...



    and personally i think using NEI breaks the immersion in the game....i like roleplaying if i wanna know how to make a Pizza on minecraft, i would prefer going to my house and finding my cookbook that just pressing E and typing pizza with NEI...



    i hope it reach some of you guys....that's all...happy modding

    i have a few ideas to make this mod even more awesome because i really love this mod and i want to see him improve...my english is not perfect so bear with me XD

    First of all, there are a few issues in the current design of the mod

    1.-The mod gives you too many things with not so many uses: Skulls are nice for decoration but how many skulls you need to decorate your house? 4? 30? i dont know but usually mid game you get plenty of skulls so you start ignoring it when you found it in caves. Ancient equipment is the same, is not hard end up with a chest full of broken swords and helmets and ancient stoneboards.But please DONT decrease the drop rate of those items, i have a idea to make then still useful late game, i will explain it later.

    2.-Why the fossils need an iron pickaxe to break? real archeologist don't use pickaxes... im thinking in something like...a tiny brush...made with wool a stick and maybe a few bone shards (i will get to that later) so the recipe wont conflict with other mods recipes. But why a brush?, because real archeologist dont go around breaking valuable fossils with an iron pickaxe, they use precision tools to make sure the fossil remains intact. So you can break the fossils with any tool, but you can only get the biofosil/relic scrap...etc if you use the brush...if you break it with a pickaxe the fossil obiously gets destroyed and you only get some bone shards, which makes sense. Is just an idea to add some archeology elements to the mod


    So here are my suggest

    1.-Make the Dinopedia an actual book: Is nice being able to know how your dinosaur feels using the dinopedia, but it could do a lot more so here is my suggest.When you right click in the air with the dinopedia in hand you open a fancy GUI that shows basic info about all the creatures from this mod and all the blocks recipes. I personally hate when a mod relies on people having to look on the wiki o using NEI to figure the recipes from an item. all the info should be accessible in game. Also the Dinopedia could have a deeper function that i will explain later.

    2.- Revamp the way to make Fossil Models: Currently is way too easy to make those cool Fossil Models (just place a Bio-Fossil in the floor), Real Archeologists need to work a little bit harder to make a real models,so here is my request.A new block, The Research Table (names are not my forte xD), it will have 3 input slots and one output slot,The input slots are for paper, bio-fossil and ADN from any creature. It will need a lot of paper and biofossil because (just like the Culture Vat), it could fail and consume the paper and biofossil (returning nothing) or it could be a success and consume the ADN to create a blueprint from the creature model, now you can put that blueprint in the Dinopedia to access to more detailed info about that specific dinosaur and it will show a pretty nice picture of the creature model.Next step is place your dinopedia (remmember the blueprint will be in the dinopedia) in another block , something like a...Model Assembler this block will have 2 input slots and 1 output slot,The first one is for your dinopedia, once the dinopedia is in the assembler you can choose which model do you want to make (you will have several blueprints in your dinopedia), the second input slot is for bones, skulls, bone shards, even biofossil and then with a redstone signal it will start consuming bones (from the second input slot) to make (over time) a tiny dinosaur model (you wont lose the dinopedia). now you can place that model in the ground like the current models but it will be tiny like a toy or a baby dinosaur. Dont like having a tiny T-Rex in your desk? What to do if you want a real size model? easy, just place the model on the Assembler instead of the dinopedia and it will use more bones to make a medium size model, they can be like the current size of the actual models (the T-Rex would be smaller though), but that's not enough right? if you wanna go crazy place the medium size model in the machine again and it will use a lot more bones (and time) to make a large size model of the dinosaur, i mean a pretty big one, like T-Rex size of any creature that would be awesome and will make a good use to all those bones/skulls you get from fossils.

    3.-Revamp the Ancient Equip: Now is way too easy to have tons of broken swords and helmets in your chest so here is my idea to fix this issue.You cannot longer use the Archeology Workbench to magically repair broken Ancient equipment now you have to work a little bit more for it... you cant repair broken ancient equipment if you don't know how to do it right? thanx god we have that Research Table we made earlier, just place the broken equipment some relic scrap and some paper and let the science do its thing... you will be using several broken sword/helmets, relic scrap and paper to be able to learn the recipe but dont worry it will be worth it, once the research is done you get the recipe so place it in your dinopedia (it will now show a lot more info about that piece of equipment (something about zombie pigmen maybe?) and now its time to start crafting some ancient equipment. But how?, those ancient materials are not obtainable on this age, so what can you do? Easy, just place a piece broken equipment in the crafting table..and SMASH IT! (no joke) you will destroy the item but will get some Ancient Shards from it (they can stack) and now you can use those shards in the Archeology Workbench to make and repair your ancient equipment.

    well that's my suggest.....of course it will require a lot of work and time to achieve (if you guys decide to make it happen of course.... please make it happen XD) but i think it will add a deep and interesting archeology core to the mod instead of being just a mod about dinosaurs (which by itself is very cool though ;) )

    I never play go easy on any game... Im currently playing on hard... I like hard... but that's insane XD




    my current problem is the swarm event...there are a lot of vespid next to my house... i can't go out or i will be killed and they wont despawn....i won't lie...is fun try to outsmart them sneak my way out but they can be a pain...specially if they will never leave...

    It could be manegable if they event lasted like....1 day or 2...so you could easily prepare for the epic battle,and when the event is over...the mobs leave,,,so if you can't beat them you could hide in your house until they go away....

    PD: burning to death from full health because a cinderfall.... not cool man XD...

    Dudeee, this mod is insane! i love it but i think it has some balance issues...



    those mobs are awesome and im pretty sure they are fun to fight.... for the first time in years im really scared to explore the overworld...the problem is they might be a little too strong and common for the early game...i end up dying over and over again just trying to find a good place to settle...and the events filling the sky with dangerous creatures just make things worse...



    as an example... i was exploring the overworld trying to find a good place to settle punching some trees...after a long walk an event triggers...Cinderfall.. i hide under a tree and notice the sky is filled with cinders....they soon find me and kill me...



    im like...oh well.. imma hurry and get my stuff back and be more careful from now... but what do i found? those cinders are right there...next to my body...they dont despawn so they kill me again...

    and then im stuck... my stuff will disapear and i can't do anything about it...



    so..i have a few suggestions...



    -When you start a new world you get no events for the first few days, so you can settle with ease before being forced to deal with evil cynder's swarns

    -Rocs are practically instakills when they get you... i think on the first few days of the world they should appear in smaller packs...

    -Im just starting with the mod so you should know better where to tweak to make survivable the early game....

    -Smaller global vision radius on the first days? so you can avoid fights more easily

    -Events should last longer but despawn the mobs they spawn once over.....







    or.....maybe i just need a survival guide to know how to deal with all this dangers on the early game....any tips?
