When I logged on to minecraft today and tried to join a server, it said "outdated server, pretending to be 1.7.7" and I shut down my computer and tried again and again. when I logged on the first screen it says 1.3.11 but when I was on the actual title screen it said 1.7.7.... how do i fix this???
1) You cannot log onto servers because you have to be playing the same version as the server runs on. For example, one server I commonly play on is still using 1.7.4. Since I'm using 1.7.7, I cannot log on.
2) The launcher says 1.3.11 because that is the version of the launcher, not the version of the game.
If you want to downgrade so you can play on the server, first go to multiplayer, click add server and type in the address of the server (If you haven't already). After you do that, you should be able to see the version the server is running. After you do that, close minecraft and reopen it. In the launcher, go to edit profile and click on the tab next to "Use Version". Go to the version that the server is running on, click it and click save. That will downgrade you to that version. You can then play on the server. You can reverse this at any time.
Any legitimate copy of Minecraft (One purchased from Mojang.com or Minecraft.net) does not contain any viruses. It is impossible to get a virus from a legitimate copy of Minecraft. If you got it from Mojang.com or Minecraft.net, something else is causing the virus.
If you bought it from ANYWHERE other than Mojang.com or Minecraft.net, that would explain it. Those are always pirated, usually scams and probably contain viruses.
So, i red this post today about villagers being an "unfinished" product, and i wondered how about adding new villagers, and some cool stuff they can do too?
Heres a few suggestions:
- adding female villagers (its kinda weird when they breed)
Notch has stated that Minecraft is a genderless game.
- adding more jobs for villagers (like miner, lumberjack, soldier, etc)
They're getting jobs in the next update.
- removing their arms-in-sleeves kinda thing.(they look like chinese/japanese squidwards)
I don't have a problem with their arm-in-sleeve thingy.
- removing the HRMMH sound (because they are starting to look more like squidward)
I kinda agree on that.
- adding some kind of money that will replace emeralds (come on who else didn't want something to be worth as it is rather than being worth more like one wooden pickaxe = 3 emeralds, these are hard as nether to find!)
They're adding more balanced trades soon.
-adding a main villager (just like testificates, only they would look different and be labeled as "mayor" or "chieftain" or whatever)
Even know you don't say what the Chief would do, a Chief would not be a horrible idea. Perhaps the Chief can give you any trade (rather than being limited by profession)? Either way, the idea of a Chief sounds pretty cool. Perhaps Mojang could finally use those green robes.
-adding more types of houses like a main house, a farmer's house, a soldier base ... etc
It couldn't hurt to add a bit more variety to villages.
-making villagers bigger and more easier to find (like you use an eye of the ender to find strongholds)
I agree that villages need to be a bit bigger. They need to be closer to 50-100 villagers, not 10-20. They shouldn't be sprawling metropolises, though they should be bigger.
- last(but not least) I would like to add the ability for villagers to breed animals, remove and place blocks and farm etc, would make them more HUMAN or STEVE or NPC or whatever.
They are getting the ability to farm in the next update. No support on the rest.
Once you kill them once, every other time just gets easier and easier. The only annoying "mob" is probably the wither in vanilla or any sort of OP modded bosses and such but usually those mods have even more equips to get to so it all becomes easy eventually.
Actually, the Skeletons are pretty annoying. Every other mob except for the Ender Dragon and Wither are absolute jokes.
I'm rather unfamiliar without jockeys. Arnt they zombies riding chickens like my picture? Sorry this isn't really answering your question. I've never really found them, isn't there also skeletons riding spiders? Im really not good at this.

You may want to check if your computer is infected with a virus. I'd recommend that you download an Antivirus software and run a scan on your computer.
How about a server in which it takes place in some sort of after-apocalypse scenario? It might be typically overdone, but it could be interesting with the map being largely isolated from the overworld, and the only places you being able to go to are run-down cities infested by mobs, and the subway lines underground without trains.
Although, when resources come into play, things get tough... And I don't think the idea is the best one out there. Definitely open for some changes.

I actually like this idea. As for the resource part of it, perhaps resources can spawn in chests, and every night the chests can disappear and reappear at a random location with different supplies. That would solve the resource problem and keep a guy from camping a particular place and stealing the stuff every time the chests reset.
It gets annoying every now and then, but I usually don't mind too much unless it's like 20 villagers jam packed into the house. If I don't want villagers in my house, I block the door.

The three types of Jockey are…
- Spider Jockey. Skeleton riding a Spider.
- Chicken. Baby zombie riding a Chicken.
- Wither. Wither Skeleton riding a Spider.
