Wynncraf's map is actually a really good map, I can definitely vouch for it, and I haven't even got very far yet.
Also, anyone else see the glitched textured trees in the last pic? Wonder what caused that, probably a texture pack issue.

FIRST.
But in all reality, I'm liking the new Mojang/Nintendo line going on.
This could be an amazing feature, hopefully more useful than llamas (Sorry llamas, but your just not that wonderful) Really curious as to what there special abilities will be, or what will be used to tame them, for that matter.
Wonder if this could set the scene for more future birds. (Falconry anyone?)
I found Grum!

I think the thing with this idea is not nessasarily even making 'hunting' harder, I think it's more just a wish to make the game harder for the 'hardcore? I beat it b5 it was cool' people. Plus, say I kill one sheep and they all run, what's stopping me from pulling out a wheat and regrouping them? Or what if I tag them all with a fishing rod and pull them back? One could even fence them in and just go on a spree.
So even though I originally was on the fence for support, I reread it and noticed all the loopholes, traps, and issues I have with this concept.
I would love to see hunting added as a way to get food as opposed to farming, but not like this. And Minecraft isn't 'too easy' perhaps it is for a gamer who has skills into next week, but imagine 8 or so year olds, not that parts of the game aren't already hard for this age group, but gathering basic food should be simpler.
I would say add animals that run anyway as their nature would be a better suggestion, so chasing them down would be the older person challenge.
Another example: what if I had a chicken pen? If I kill one, unless I had an enclosed area, the rest would fly out.
So making the fundamental food animals of Minecraft run away and or attack is a bit to difficult for the younger generation who would like to enjoy the game as well.
Apologies for harshness.

Perhaps also instead of having the already passive animals run, more wild animals that would run anyway would be suggested, not unlike your deer. But perhaps also bighorn sheep in mountains, or other animals, especially ones that could have useable drops.
