Does that modpack auto-gen a skyblocks map? On pre-created maps (the only way I've ever played skyblocks maps of any kind), there's no retro-gen for DimDoors. So, if you're adding DimDoors after generating your world, or loading up a save created previously, they won't form. So far, this is by design, but only as a byproduct of lacking retro-gen code (as far as I can tell).
Yes, The Skyfactory pack generates worlds as Skyblock worlds, and under one of the settings (skyblock21, have to change it in one of the configs), it gives you about 30~ blocks of flat land, and with Dim doors on 10000 (100%) chance, dungeons WILL generate on that small bit of land. but in the build I was using, In the Deep Dark the doors werent generating as far as I could tell, at least not down in the open space that I could see. (Flew around for 10~ minutes hunting for one on 10000 chance. Didnt spend any time checking the very tip top though..but I'd find it weird for them to generate there. I think I'll go do that now, Since I'm a bit bored
Adding DimDoors to Bacon_Donut's Skyfactory modpack has the same effect for me as Xomby with the option 'Enable Hardcore Limbo' enabled, Crashes to desktop almost imediately during world generation, doesnt matter if its default, or superflat as far as I can tell.
Removing ChickenChunks from the pack and relaunching it removes the CTD on world generation
As a side note, Is there any chance of having Dimensional Dungeon doors generate in other dimensions, Like Mystcraft dimensions, the Deep Dark from ExtraUtilities, Or The Nether? I love this mod, But in skyblock maps which I oh so enjoy, Rifts and Dungeon doors dont spawn, so I can never get World Thread to make stable fabric without cheating it in, and trading some diamonds and wool blocks in as compensation.
I read through a few of the above posts and didnt see one that matched.. In the latest versions of Tinkers construct I've noticed that if you dump a Villager into the smeltery, it slowly produces Liquid Emerald (Which currently has no use that ive found, but is awesome nonetheless o.o) My suggestion is to do something similar to the "Pigman" mob, They drop gold nuggets on death, so it would be really cool if you could drop a pigmen into the smeltery and have it produce liquid gold
Also, Dropping Iron Golems into it could produce molten Iron~ Just sayin.
Yeah. I use it with MultiMC mostly now. You need to manually copy the contents of "automap_patch" to "mods\mod_automap" for the client you're wanting to use it with, then run as normal.
Oh, and the client needs a mod loader running too - Forge works I think?
The mod doesnt work properly with TerraFirma craft, it connects just fine, and I can send messages, but I cant see the stream chat at all
List of mods:
Optifine
DynamicLights
Rei's Minimap
Backpack mod
Inventory Tweaks
Ladder Kit
Ropes+
Smart Moving
Terrafirma Craft
I tried it both with and without Rei's Minimap, and i tried it with only Forge + PlayerAPI + TerraFirmaCraft (the mods needed for a basic TFC install) a and had no luck. The only chat that WILL show up is the IOException Error when using certain IP's, on the IP's that it doesnt prompt the "IO Exception" it never displays the "Connected" message, but i can type in the chat bar, and if i alt+tab to the stream in question the message shows up just fine...just cant see any of the stream chat in game
This mod looks pretty cool... But I wont be able (More like willing) to use it because the only downloads are the absolute latest I use a forge mod setup and it takes hours to get everything working together again, forge updates so often i practically wouldnt get to play if I updated my minecraft in tandem with it.. Is there any chance you could maybe post links for a few of the older versions? or tell me where I could find them if maybe I didnt look hard enough?
At 11 you are more aware of the problem and more respectful than most so-called "adults" here.
Mojang killed true single-player by forcing a merge with multi. It's just bad right now. Maybe it will get better, I have doubts though.
My FPS has been cut to 1/3rd of what it was prior to this. Went from 100 to about 33. Still, to me, the game is quite playable. It's just that they've added annoyances, lag and FPS hits that seem unnecessary. The $5000 computer babies and MC fanbois will pretend there is no problem, but they're just lying to everyone and to themselves.
I would say - get informed about your computer specs, post them on some computer forums and see what your bottleneck is. Maybe some added ram or a video card upgrade could help you a lot.
Also, Optifine is a tried and tested mod, I wouldn't be so afraid to use it. When it is upgraded to 1.3.1, give it a try. It's basically independent programmers doing coding that Mojang should have done, to get the game closer to an actual competent level of release which Mojang seems apparently incapable of doing.
1: Sadly true.
2: Agreed, I honestly dont know what they were thinking.
3: The FPS drop is likely due to the fact that java is now simultanously running a baseline server in the background, I honestly dont see much of a change in FPS, but my average FPS running minecraft in 1.2.5 was 10-25, so maybe im just a lil' desensitized to it
4: Yes.
5: Yes.
On the topic of reappearing blocks, my guess is that it IS a bug, with the newly implemented "Singleplayer is a Server" mechanic there may be some confusion in the coding causing it to register the singleplayer environment as a running server (and thus the 50 block spawn protect would kick in) But I have no proof of that, Just a guess my computer was made in 2001 i have a whole 1gig of ram (two 512 sticks) and i can run minecraft fine with a multitude of mods, and 1.3.1 is very smooth for me, even without optifine.
As a side note, Suprisingly minecrafts memory hogging-ness is a lot better when it has less memory to work with, giving it too much memory causes intense amounts of lag even on the best computers but on those same computers tell it that it has "512mb" to work on and itll run at 200+fps. Java itself is amazingly versatile when it comes to managing its memory, but it doesnt know what to do with large amounts
No offense, But in most cases if optifine offers no significant improvement then the user is failing to properly adjust the settings.
Also, Turbo is quite right, Creating the "11,573'rd" copy of a post is rather silly, Replying to another thread already in progress with a nearly identical title keeps the information condensed, and all in one place where devs might actually spend their time reading it, rather than seeing the same thing. Over and over. "Hmm, Ive seen seventeen million posts with this same title, and OP.. Pass, Next please.." (Ive modded several forums, and frankly, thats my reaction. And i know others who feel the same way, its not even worth the time to mouse over it most of the time, let alone actually clicking and loading the page.)
In reality, If you had spent a few minutes on google, You would have seen the many many other posts with near identical problems, or entirely new ones that could forewarn you against OTHER bugs.
Oh. And Optifine isnt the only one of its kind, Again, A little bit of effort goes a long way
I read through some of the previous pages (Not all, so..If its answered there, i appologize).
I was wondering if there is a way to change the default controls for changing arrows, I have a 5+ button mouse and would like to put them on my mouse which registers the extra 2 buttons as :Numpad1: and :Numpad2:

Is there any way to install this to directories besides the default .minecraft? For MultiMC or modpacks like FTB? Or even Pocket MC?
I like the idea and the map looks awesome, but I dont really use the default MC directory anymore, and I see no way to install and use it elsewhere
