Usage:
/placeblockhere <block ID> <x> <y> <z>
/destroyblockhere <x> <y> <z>

Kind of self-explanatory, but anyway, what the first command does it will place any block (specified by the ID you give) at a certain coordinate. If there was already a block at those coordinates, then it would be replaced by whatever block was told to be placed by the command. The second command, /destroyblockhere, would do the opposite of /placeblockhere; it would destroy whatever block is at the specified coordinates and replace it with air. I'm thinking that these commands could be useful in a number of ways, mainly when used with command blocks. Before you ask, of course this would be considered a cheat.

Vanishing/Materializing Structures:
For adventure maps, this could have a lot of uses. Large contraptions that could utilize command blocks imputed with these commands would allow for redstone activating structures to instantly appear or vanish, such as large doors that pistons normally would be incapable of handling without making themselves completely obvious. Other possible utilities that would be made possible by this include the automated creation of 3x3 corridors; large stairwells; advanced traps; fires; or even I imagine something along the lines checkerboard floor where the red blocks vanish every time the black blocks rematerialize, and vice versa (could make for an interesting hopscotch-like game or challenge with the use of a clock circuit and a lava pool).

As Wireless Redstone:
With being able to place and destroy any block at any coordinate, including redstone dust, it could be used to activate and deactivate redstone contraptions that do not have to have any connections with the main switch [that activated the command blocks]. It could do this by placing something like a redstone torch at coordinates that are right next to a unpowered redstone circuit. Inevitably, this would power the circuit, and if I were to then initiate the command /destroyblockhere at those same coordinates, it would again depower it.

I'm sorry if I didn't present it as well enough as I should have, but I'm sure most of you get the point. I can see this probably would have some other interesting uses that I failed to mention.
