posted a message on Big Updates or Small Updates?

From a player perspective, people will probably say smaller frequent updates. From an ownership of a server perspective, people will probably say bigger less frequent updates.

Owners of servers are stuck in a predicament of deciding when to update their server since they don't know how frequent these updates will be. And please don't use searge's comment regarding waiting till 1.14 for the full 1.9 experience. That comment could have easily been taken as passive aggressive or sarcastic. He basically was crying over people complaining. People will always complain no matter what happens, so I don't know why he always gets mad over it. You can't please everyone.

Many servers use different plugins, and these plugins have to be updated for every new version. If the updates are way too frequent, then its hard for plugins to keep up and server owners have to stay put on the version that has the working plugins. Then the owners have to worry if players will leave because some players will want to go see what newer versions offer and might leave the server. It can get really messy and difficult for server owners is my main point.

In my opinion, there is a medium of the two extremes they're doing. It took 545 days(exact) for 1.9 to be officially released. It's about 3 months to release 1.10 for them. I think it would be best to have a yearly update(so like every 365 days), which is a medium to both server owners and players.

Thank you JonLondon for sending me a message about this server!

Where are you from?: Minnesota, USA

Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: I don't like the drowning effect of a huge communities, while also the benefits of a small community you get benefits of knowing people and coming up with a lot of brainstorming and great ways to make a server fun! (Also personally I never liked being in large groups, it can be quite intimidating for me, so I usually avoid large public servers much as possible along with similar situations in real life).

What is your favourite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: I personally only play Vanilla, and seeing what people can do with the elements of Vanilla in especially group aspects adds a different element to the game. I personally haven't seen all of what Minecraft can offer, and I personally prefer to play games while seeing what others can do! To me Vanilla is still mysterious, so I don't see the point adding in a lot of other stuff when I already am still learning about the basics.

Tell us something about yourself: I'm 21 years old, mainly trying out a new job right now in real life. Minecraft and other games have been pretty helpful to me when trying to organize my daily life (it is interesting how much easier the world looks when you put things in block form). Other games I play are Sims and mmos that usually have a social/friendly environment. I've been only playing Minecraft for almost a year now, but enjoy the game for how simple it is to run even on a laptop. Also I do tend to accidentally use wrong grammar or mess up words, I never do on purpose more like I miss a letter or a word. I usually try to reexplain myself if I get it wrong the first time.

Why should we accept you?: I'm friendly, I'm looking to make friends to not only see what they have already done on server, but also join in the fun! I believe in respecting other players, and enjoying the game itself!

    Accepted, really nice app :)

If you are looking for a small, friendly community to play with, this is your best choice. Everyone takes the time to get to know each other really well, and it's a great environment to play in. I've played here for over a year, and I can say without a doubt that this is the best server I've played on. :)

Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: I prefer to play in a small community in order to enjoy the full experience of minecraft and interacting with new players. I just love a honest and trustful community that is able to help me with builds and be supportive.

What is your favorite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: Well I just love the mindcrack server and I have always been trying to find a community friendly server like them. I want to be able to explore and build with some of the other players on the server to fully enjoy the adventure aspect of the game. This is exactly why I would love to join this server, because I think it would be an awesome adventure for me.

Tell us something about yourself: Well I have skype if anyone of you guys would like to have a collab and also have a youtube channel that I stopped posting but could start it up. I have been playing minecraft for a couple of years and very good at building and I dabble at a bit of redstone. I really like building underground and very decisive in my builds. I am in highschool right now and been studying on programming,

Why should we accept you?: I am also a very mature and trust worthy player that is fun while being able to respect other players. I just love the vanilla world with other people because of the way the community can help make the game a lot more exciting then just regular singleplayer. I also play a consistent time of 1-2 hours at night because of homework and sometimes I won't be on for exams. But overall a consistent time.

Accepted, welcome to the server :D

Hey guys! I'd like to put up my application to join your server! Thanks for the time and consideration!

    Ingame Name: Ben_Fett
Where are you from?: I'm from Ohio, in the USA, Eastern timezone.
Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: Hmm... What's a good way to put this? The personality. In a small community of players you really get to know people. You form relationships and friendships with the other players. That's just great, and certainly not something you experience in a larger server. Plus, they are often much safer. Your work isn't in danger of griefing, ect.
What is your favourite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: My favorite aspect would probably just be how simple it is. There's nothing fancy and difficult, there's nothing laid out before you. Everything that you do is fully your own creativity. There's no complex mods and tedious things of that sort, just a basic, simple groundwork for you to do whatever you want with.
Tell us something about yourself: I am a homeschooled high school senior, just accepted into college for this fall actually! I'm very excited for it. I'm hoping to do video game art or CGI type production in movies. I've always loved the artistic side of things, and I'm a constant sketcher. I've been away from minecraft for a little while, just because I got burned out on it. I'm back now, and very excited to start playing again, as I've been craving some minecraft time recently.
Why should we accept you?: I'm a friendly, creative player. I fit in well with communities, and while I personally like building by myself, I love hanging out with others, chatting, working on large building projects, ect. I love making bonds and spending time with other players. I'm quite helpful, and I happily will help in any way I can to better the community. I build community farms a lot, simply because they're always incredibly fun projects.

Once again, thank you for your time and consideration! I'd love to be a part of your server and the community within it.

    -Ben

Accepted! Really nice app and congrats with college! Hope to see you on the server :)
