Need a little help, Some things in this mod aren't really intuitive and i'm having trouble figuring this out.

Why isn't this working?
You need to place an Energy Transfer Node on the Generator before it can power machines. Otherwise you'll have to put the machines right next to the Generator.
He probably has a pre-release version. Most notably, 1.1.0k still has the 80x Power Multiplier for the Speed III Ender Quarry Upgrade, instead of 2x shown in the video.
Wtf? Why is Deep Dark so dark? There are a lot of torches. Reconnect doesn't work, restart too. Yes, this is a server.
Are you perhaps running Optifine or something else that modifies rendering? The Deep Dark uses a custom renderer to make it darker than normal, so render-altering mods could interfere with that.
I've noticed something weird about the smeltery (latest version, d3). Brand new smeltery, just constructed, filled a smeltery tank with four buckets of fuel... and every time I open the controller, with nothing having been in there, the lava level has dropped - typically by between 15 and 30 mb of lava. Every time. Smeltery's 4x7 internal, if it makes a difference (slightly modified ImpactFlux modpack, for the record).
I've seen the same thing happen with the 1.6.0 version of TiC, by the way. I think it's supposed to be a sort of pre-heating, since it never takes more after taking the initial few mB.

am I the only one crashing when the try to get to the 3rd page of "materials and you vol 1" book? I try to get to the 3rd page and then it stops and then says "shutting down internal server" then gives me a crash report.
We can't actually help you without a crashlog, but let me guess: You're using Forge 1180? If so, update to 1208.

Any hope of getting at least a second uninsulated wire or maybe more? It be nice to run at least two parallel lines off of buttons/pistons that don't interact with the other parallel line, but are still uninsulated to interact with close proximity buttons/pistons.
How do you hook up your ender chest so whatever you put in it gets sucked into the ME system automatically? i know this is possible as CaptainSparklez has done it and i know a number of people who have as well.

You need to place an Energy Transfer Node on the Generator before it can power machines. Otherwise you'll have to put the machines right next to the Generator.

Are you perhaps running Optifine or something else that modifies rendering? The Deep Dark uses a custom renderer to make it darker than normal, so render-altering mods could interfere with that.
