I did get banned for having a ninja skin. The ban reason?

    "Being a ninja is racist"

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How dare they? Ninjas are awesome. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a server out there that banned players for not having a ninja skin.

Yes. One hundred times yes! Why wasn't this a thing when books first came out? This would be so helpful for people who make mistakes and write long books. I give this my full support.

posted a message on How to build a storm cloud?

You guys have good ideas for block types (I'll have to experiment) but what would you suggest for the construction process? Height off the ground (keep in mind that the server I'm playing on has the default height limit with little chance of that changing), thickness of the cloud, how I should go about making lightning bolts into staircases that lead up to the cloud? I have the idea I just need ways to make it look good and not ugly.

posted a message on How Do You Store All Your Things In the Vanilla?

When I first start off, everything is thrown into one or two chests. As time goes on and I get more stuff and get settled in my house, I expand. I add chests for important and unimportant stuff. Then maybe one chest specifically for ores and ingots then for tools and armor and whatever else I might need. I never really feel the need to have a chest for every single item since I never get that much of anything nor do I have a pressing need for it (I only need 4 or 5 stacks of cobblestone and wood not an entire double chest full of it). If I plan on making any projects, I make a chest specifically for whatever supplies I need to build it. Once the project is fully complete I remove the chest. Since I am able to use signs to label my chests, a sorting machine isn't needed (which I am thankful for since I know very little about how redstone works). It might not be the most efficient system ever but it works for me so why fix what isn't broken right?

posted a message on How to build a storm cloud?

I am a member of a server that includes clans and I want to make my own. Of course every clan needs a base and I came up with a great idea for my clan's base. What I want to do is build a massive cloud in the air but I want to use dark blocks so it looks like the clouds you would see when there's a thunderstorm raging outside. I would also make lightning bolts coming down from the cloud and striking the ground and I would build stairways inside of them. Once all of that was done I would build my clan base like a normal one (though with dark tones to keep with the theme of the base). My question is how would I go about making this storm cloud and the lightning bolts? I'm not really sure on what blocks to use for the cloud (I'll probably use yellow wool for lightning bolts) and I also don't know how thick the cloud should be or how high in the air it will be (the height limit is the default of y=252) and I'm at a loss of how to do this. Any and all advice would be incredibly helpful since I really think that this idea is cool and I want to go through with it. Thanks in advance!

I once got banned for telling server staff that despite being staff they were not allowed to grief. I have since been unbanned and said staff members no longer hold any authority on that server (at least to my knowledge I haven't been there in a while so I can't say for sure).

posted a message on In need of a simple skin editing program.

I tried that site but as far as I can tell there's no way to upload skins or rotate to see and edit other sides so that won't work for me. If you can tell me what I'm doing wrong I'd be glad to know so that I can use this site more effectively.

posted a message on In need of a simple skin editing program.

Recently I came up with an idea for a few new skins that involve editing existing skins. However I am completely new to this so I have very little idea of what I'm doing. What I need is a website/program that can do the following:

    1. Works with Mac. I am using a Mac and I want to make sure that whatever program I'm using can work with that.

    2. Lets me upload existing skins to use as a base. The skins that I have are in .png format so I need a program that will let me upload those types of files and edit them within the program then download them so that they can be used as the bases in-game skins.

    3. Allows me to edit all sides of the skin. I found a website that seemed promising but only allowed me to edit the front so it was a letdown. I need to be able to edit the front, back, sides, top, and bottom of the skin.

    4. Has a simple color selecting tool and/or an eyedropper tool. I truly don't care for using color wheels and having to change all sorts of information to get a specific color. Sure it might help for more custom colors but I honestly prefer having all of the colors laid out in a grid pattern where I can easily select each individual color. An eyedropper tool would be helpful since the skins I plan on making will reuse color from the bases.

So if anyone can point me towards a website or program that could do these things I would be extremely grateful as these skins are something that I really want to do and I want to be able to make these skins without a huge amount of frustration (hence why I asked for a simple program). Thanks in advance!

posted a message on Using Stairs as a Roof. Your Opinions?

Some people like to have the roof of their house be a flat surface. Others might layer blocks for a pyramid sort of appearance. And then there are those who use stairs to build the roof of their home. What do you think of using stairs for this purpose? Love it? Hate it? Does it look good or bad? Is it easy or difficult?

Me personally I'm okay with the appearance but I despise the building process. I have no patience for annoying things and stairs can be irritating and at times downright frustrating when trying to build a roof. For example, I had built a small shelter in my creative world to see how it would look. It had a small room and a large room. For the small room, I used a flat roof as the room was simply too small for stairs to really have a purpose. However I wanted to use stairs for the large room. The large room was not a perfect square/rectangle like the small room and that caused an issue when it came to the corners. The outer corners were no trouble at all but the inner corners were a different story. The first layer was built with no issues but on the second layer one of the two inner corners simply refused to work properly. The stairs simply wouldn't form a corner like I wanted no matter how hard I tried. Eventually my patience wore out and I tore down the house since it wouldn't look good with an entirely flat roof. Maybe one day I'll try again but that experience has only furthered my hatred for using stairs to build a roof.

Anyways I never really use stairs since they can be so irritating to work with. My houses always have a flat roof (unless someone gave the house to me which does happen) and honestly I'm okay with that. I want to make my house look good by having a more interesting looking roof but if it's that annoying to create then I can live without it.The only benefit for using stairs as the roof is that it arguably looks better than a flat roof. However building a flat roof is quicker and easier and it makes for easy removal in case I want to tear down or expand the house. Say what you will but I prefer my flat roof though I wouldn't mind being able to build a decent looking stair roof if it wasn't so irritating. What do you guys think of using stairs as your roof?

My first death (that I can remember) is when I died in lava trying to mine obsidian. I wasn't being careful with how I mined and I paid the price for it.

posted a message on UPDATED PIX: Gryphons (Balanced flight for Survival mode)

I'm rather partial to this idea. I really like the idea of gryphons (though I spell it as griffon due to a certain show I watch) being in Minecraft but I have a few issues with this.

    1. I don't like that gryphons cannot run or walk. Since gryphons are half lion half eagle (and all awesome) they should be able to move on the ground just as well as in the air. I'm not saying they need to make The Flash look like a turtle or anything but they should at least be able to match a player's walking speed. Personally I think their speed should be faster than a player's walk but slower than their run. (Unless a sprint function were to be added.)

    2. There is no mention of how often (if at all) the grown gryphons need to be fed. I'm sure that all of that flying and (hopefully) running would tire out any gryphon so they would need some meat or fish to regain their energy. I'm not saying they need their own hunger bar but just let us know if they need to be fed. (I don't use horses so I have nothing to really compare this to.)

    3. Can we name them? I know this seems like a silly question but I am quite curious as to whether or not we can use a nametag to name our gryphons. It's a small detail yet I would love to see it.

That's all I have. Partial support for now as I do like the idea and design of gryphons but the concept does need some clarification and gryphons lacking the ability to run/walk does irk me a bit.

This seems like a great idea. It seems so simple to add into the game and very easy to use in-game. It's so minor yet it adds a much needed detail to the game. Heck I'd have been satisfied with just using dye to change the color of the bed but this goes beyond my expectations. I support this.

posted a message on Is it wrong to ban people from a server.

If there are rules that the people in question know about and they are breaking those rules then go ahead and ban them. It's like if a store had a customer that broke their own rules. They would have the right to force said customer to leave. If your server has rules but you haven't made them known to your community I'd advise telling the players to behave better but don't punish them. Once the warning is given post a rule board near the spawn point of the server and list your rules on any Minecraft Forum Posts or websites dedicated to bringing people to your server. This way any new players will know about these rules and cant use an excuse of 'Well, nobody TOLD me you couldn't (insert rule violation here) here.' As for an age limit I would say go for it but allow anyone under age to remain on the server if they joined before the age limit was implemented. Also having rules in place could attract more people who don't want to deal with swearing, spam, griefing, stealing, etc. These are just my suggestions however. Do with them as you please. Hope this helps.
