I LITERALLY JUST ANSWERED THIS QUESTION.

You may have answered his question, but the problem remains. For some people, their minecraft accounts will not work as logins. I personally have some 5-6 accounts which are legitimately shared between my friends and I, and none of them work as logins for this launcher. I came here looking for an answer as well

Title says it all. I have tried to log into a specific server (I know that the IP is right). It is a very popular server, and I was able to connect just the other day. I have tried to connect with a 100% vanilla .minecraft (thinking that my mods were the issue) and still no dice. I tried to reset my router, among a few other silly things which shouldn't have anything to do with connectivity to a server. I am able to connect to any other server, just not this one.

Anybody have any insight as to what the problem could be?

Nope. Although the block IS receiving power, that power is NOT transferred to the next block to turn off the torch.

posted a message on Do you want invisibility?
This wont ruin PvP in the slightest. If anything, it will add an extra spark to pvp servers for a few reasons.

1: Invisible players can still be seen, due to the potion particles. If you have your particles on minimal, that is your own fault, seeing as particles give off very little lag, unless the entire terrain is covered in torches.

2: All armor and weapons are still shown. This will severely limit the usefulness in PvP. Players cannot use a weapon in attacking, and without armor are VERY vulnerable. Before attacking a player, the potion effects will be slightly less than noticeable, but when a player is attacked by an invisible player, it will be quite easy to find the attacker, so long as you have particle effects ON.

3: The attacker isn't the ONLY one who can use invisibility potions. You can remove all weapons/ armor to attack an unwary player. Therefore, the defending player can also use another potion to evade the attacker.

4: Who's to say that Jeb won't add an item which let's players see other invisible players? Even if this doesnt happen, i believe it is still very possible to create a pluggin which does this, when wearing, say, a diamond helmet.

There is no cause for alarm. People are simply looking too deep into the situation (or not deep enough), and causing an unnecessary panic, just as they did with the ender chest.

How do you mistake french for german? I dont speak french either, but honestly... They're pretty far from similar.

@ Gendron49, Perhaps you should be the one to translate your mod into english, seeing as a large majority of this forum community speaks english. It is in your best interest to make it so that more people could understand your posts. That way, more people will download your mod.

posted a message on The exp scale as of 1.3.1
If grinding was impossible, it would be very balanced. However, there are farms which can get to level 30 in close to one minute. These farms are very difficult to build, but also very possible with the new leveling system, which makes levels 1-16 linear (they all take the same ammount of experience to go from one level to the next) And the rest of them are slightly less exponential (Levels are more difficult to progress to with each level obtained) than before. If you want to put the time and resources into making these farms, you can practically GIVE yourself the levels.

I do think that it is fantastic that the actually did something, though, because in 1.2, enchanting was far from acceptable.

posted a message on What's the highest level you've ever been in Minecraft?
I go for efficiency, so the highest i've ever gotten is 50-51, then i spend it on an enchantment. I've killed the dragon before, but i only collected 40-50 levels, then i placed an enchanting table down in the end with bookcases and enchanted, then picked up another 40-50 levels and enchanted, so on and so forth.

posted a message on Best mob farm design?
The very best mob farm for XP is the enderman farm which panda made, and DocM re-created. it can get you to level 50 within 5-10 minutes.

    Quote from Tesp

I don't get why everyone wants horses so bad...they're just unoriginal. I like it when Minecraft is abstract, and makes things like creepers and enderman. Horses though, that's just boring.

Yeah, because zombies, skeletons, cows, pigs, sheep, wolfs, and cats are so terribly original. There are few things in minecraft that are truly original. The nether is obviously hell, the skylands are a heaven, and the end is an oblivion/ void. Endermen are based off of slenderman, and the creeper was accidentally made by notch when he was making the pig model. Being a "copy cat" is okay. everything has already been done, so what is the use in trying to make something original?

Horses would be the only reasonable mount for minecraft. any sort of technology more advanced than a minecart wouldn't really fit into the game. Horses would be a nice way to more quickly get from place to place, while still retaining the rustic feeling of minecraft.

This will happen with any transparent block. No suffocation damage is allied to an entity inside of a transparent block, so they arent pushed back inside of the block's limits. This only happens in multiplayer when you have way too many mobs in the same spot.

posted a message on What should be done with the ender chest
    Quote from Jimbo Jambo

Can't be griefed? Oh no! How will we ever go on without being able to cause other people anguish? :(

Griefing "no rules" servers are cesspools of the community and it's really hard for me to feel sorry for the people who typically frequent them. Faction wars are a bit less stupid, but I still fail to see how this significantly changes their game, since even now it's easily possible just to scatter valuables throughout chests buried 20 blocks down. What kind of person carries that much stuff on them/leaves it out in the open where stealing is allowed?

Are you being serious right now? If you have spent more than an hour on a PvP/ Factions/ Raids server, you would realize how ignorant that paragraph is. In Raid servers, you are allowed to go into a player/ faction's home and steal whatever you can find. Faction protections makes this a bit harder, because you must kill the players in that faction to lower their power, which will allow you to claim their protected areas, allowing access to their chests. OR, you can use TnT on chests with a TnT cannon, skipping the marauding of players. This inspires people to come up with more inventive ways to protect themselves, like TnT shields made of water, and player infiltration shields made of lava. The end dimension is damn near useless in non- PVP/Raid servers after the dragon has been killed, and you have a few double chests filled with enderpearls (unless you make the incredible enderman farm in Panda's video), but in PVP/Raid servers, the end dimension creates a new way to protect their things, by blocking off all portals, except their access point to the end.

My point of this rambling, is that PVP/Raid servers, while allowing Greifing, are still a MAJOR part of the minecraft community, and should not be looked down upon as if they are inhabited only by those who wish to cause harm to others and gain nothing out of it. I have met some of the smartest redstone designers, mob trap mechanics, pluggin creators and server administrators on PVP/ Raid/ Greifing/ No Rules servers. I can say from experience that administrating a creative server is hundreds of times easier than administrating a Hardcore PVP Factions Raiding server, and takes much less problem solving, balancing, and listening to the community. In creative servers, the community is nothing compared to a server where one person's actions can directly or indirectly affect the entire community.
