I built an XP farm out of a spawner I found. It was working for awhile and then it just stopped. I've since rebuilt/changed the design and lit up the surrounding Abandoned Mineshaft area. The room is dark.
I've seen conflicting information about whether you have to be within 16(wiki) or 32 blocks of the spawner or 24 blocks AWAY from the spawner. The killbox is about 10 blocks away from the spawner. I've also seen conflicting reports about how far away needs to be lit up. I've read 128 blocks, 200 blocks, and also both that its based on player location and that it's based on spawner location. Just looking for some solid answers so I can figure out how to fix it.
How far away should PLAYERS be?
How far away do I need to light up?
Is that distance measured from the spawner or the player?
Do I need to make sure there are NO mobs, or just no Skeletons within that distance?
Any other information that you may have or I might not have mentioned would be appreciated too.
