Thanks for reporting! Should be fixed in the next update.

Any chance you can drop this update fairly soon? I'm having this issue almost everytime I play and I really want to play using your minimap, thanks Xaero :)

I assume this is a bug that you need to fix rather than an issue that I have myself, as past Java experience has also generated that error when I've worked with arrays etc.

Edit: I've narrowed it down to happening when changing dimensions, if that helps.

    Submitted via your website.

I made my skin and it is a human looking one.

btw: It might work really well to have the first skin in the series you use be the default Steve skin and the final skin be the new Alex skin. Just throwing out an idea.

That was actually the plan! :)
    Thanks for the input.

So you don't want to steal the skins because you want it looks like the players helped you. So good luck with getting so many skins!

...or you can steal them and then say that the players helped you. It has the same effect and is much faster

I'm not the kind to be corrupt about something like this, especially based on the topic. Did you even read what I wrote earlier, or that extra info that's been in an spoiler in the thread since I first posted?

Good luck with gathering that many skins.

This thread has to have around 2000 posts, then. Not counting the ones who feel suspicious about it, and post their thoughts here.

I really don't think that using skins is a good idea. Most of the skins I see are white people (Those darn emo and anime skins), and many of them aren't even human.

Actually, quite a lot of people have submitted their Minecraft usernames via the linked form. People don't necessarily have to reply here to acknowledge the fact they've helped out.

For the concept I have, skins are great for it - it shows the fact that while someone's skin may be happy/sad/angry/worried, their real life may be the complete opposite. The video is meant to be simple enough and to the point that it makes people think.

I'd like to stress that it really isn't for my personal benefit. It's to raise awareness of a real world issue.

Not sure why you need exactly 2356 skins, but good luck.

PS: He can't steal your Minecraft password via knowing your Minecraft username on google docs, sillies.

    See previous post :)

    To answer your questions:

    • The video will be based on "Noah takes a picture of himself everyday for 6 years" (search it on YouTube)
    • The video will cycle through a ton of skins, with text explaining the issues of discrimination and inequality
    • 2,356 are the number of pictures used in Noah's video, so I'd like to match that
    • I don't want it to go viral for me - I'm basing it on the viral video I mentioned earlier in this post
    • There's nothing I can do with your usernames. All I do is use your skin. If I wanted to gather usernames for malicious activity, surely it'd be easier to just go through online player lists of popular servers?
    • Why don't I just do that? Why don't I just grab names from server lists? I want the community that is interested in helping out with the video and the topic it's based around to be involved. I don't want to just randomly use people's skins.
    • Lastly, I work hard for what I do on YouTube, so to reiterate, I'm not intending for it to go viral whatsoever. It's just a nice community project you can be involved in. My main focus on my channel is community projects, and you'll notice I produce Minecraft parodies - not just for me - but for other people. I've gained a nice (though small!) reputation over a few months, and nothing I do is ever intended to be malicious or illegal.
You're not forced to do this. It's just something you can help out with, if you want.
    Thanks for the responses though.

    Hello,

The Minecraft community really is awesome, and with the content creators out there, it is expanding all the time. From custom maps to musical parodies, or even machinimas and mods - this is the one community that works together and has respect for one another.

This is why I'm asking for you - the community of a truly great game - to help. Specifically, I need 2356 of you - which is a small number in comparison to how many people have bought the game, or browse these forums.

It's nothing big on your end. I literally just need your Minecraft username. This is so that I can grab your skin, and use it in a project/video, which will convey the message of equality and preventing discrimination against people with different ethnic backgrounds, religions, genders, or sexualities. It's a topic that isn't really addressed that often, and the video will be based around a video that has been viral on YouTube.

There's no catch to this. You can submit your username in under 10 seconds by going here: http://go.jaydenkieran.com/skinproject
If, however, you want to learn more about what the video is actually going to aim to tackle, and what benefit it will have, you can look at the blog post that I have made on my website here: http://jaydenkieran.com/skin-project

Because I know a lot of people sometimes are worried about sites they are not familiar with/been to before, I've mirrored the post in this spoiler too:

I’ve set up a super important form for submitting your Minecraft username for a huge video project relating to Minecraft and a certain viral video on YouTube. I need at least 2356 usernames in order to properly re-create the viral video in a Minecraft-related format.

This video isn’t going to be something you’ll be able to re watch over and over and get the same feels. You will get feels. It’s been said that it’s difficult for games to strike a part of you, but I’m sure this will. It’s not a parody, or a machinima, or even recorded within Minecraft. It’s something so simple, so basic, that it has no need to even be recorded within the game. Curious? Good!

The video aims to address something that has been circulating around the world recently – equality. Everyone is equal, and everyone should be treated as an equal. Whether that be in real life, or a character/skin within a game. Hidden behind every skin is a person that could be male, female… white, black, mixed-raced… skinny, overweight… poor, rich… or going through a hard time. For many, gaming, especially Minecraft, is a way to escape from the stress of everyday life.

The project is meant to convey a message – the message that everyone IS equal. That everyone should feel comfortable in their own skin. I’d love to tell you more about it, I really would, but it would defeat the purpose. I wouldn’t want people to be put off submitting their skin by knowing what the video actually is – but let me promise you, it will not discriminate, and you will feel every second of it once it is done.

Click here to submit your skin

If you have any concerns, feel free to contact me via Twitter, my username is JaydenKieran. I would really appreciate you also “retweeting” this tweet in order to help me with this project.

Thank you for taking your time to read this. Lets bring the issue of inequality to light through the power of video games. If any administrators or moderators are sceptical about this or concerned, it's best to contact me through Twitter, as I'll see it much quicker. I'm happy to answer your questions.

    Jayden Bailey

EDIT: If you're sceptical about this, I answered some questions here:
