The real update seems to have been delayed, and they will be releasing a newer 1.8pre to iron out more bugs submitted by us through the wiki / whatnot.

BUG:
Instant death,
Flying in creative mode, then switching to survival WHILE flying will allow you to continue flying, but when you land on anything, no matter how careful you are, you die instantly. Reproducable, not practical though.
How do you switch between the two again? I looked in my world saved folder, and couldn't find anything to change.
Also, creative mode video:

Well, at least Optifine will have a little less to do with the new updates. I no longer need to have smooth lighting off thanks to Notch <3 -

You don't need winrar to put the minecraft.jar where it should be. -

right-click the client jar and then click save as. You need to put it into %appdata%/.minecraft/bin (Windows, I don't use Apple stuff, and never will.) -

Make sure 1.7.3 is all downloaded and you can login (Yes, you need to be a paid account.) Then, download the minecraft.jar for the client, and replace the one in %appdata%/.minecraft/bin with the downloaded one.
Then you will need to execute your minecraft.exe or your bat file that you use in case your RAM is too low.
Also, Part 4:
Creative mode video coming soon. -

No, not really on my end. The flickering near torches I believe was intentional, as it doesn't flicker near lava. -

Double Jump will suspend you in mid-air. Jump button makes you go higher. Shift (Crouch) will make you fall down. A note, when you land on any block (doesn't matter what) you will exit flying mode.
Also take heart, flying mode gives you the same lens effect as sprinting. -

I'll have more of course. Don't mind the humming or the ambient noise, I'm trying to get used to the microphone (still, after 1+ years of having it.) -

If I follow the link in the OP where it says there's a tutorial it just brings me to page 4 and gmz hasn't posted anything on page 4.
This. But people just say to delete everything and stick it into the bin folder. - To post a comment, please login.

If you reply to the post with a link to the post with that information in it, you'd keep your sanity much easier. I also looked at the last few pages, I haven't run anything about forge throwing warnings about terrain generation (As it wouldn't crash the game. Most of the previous issues in the past few threads are about game crashing things, not terrain issues it seems.)

I have a whole ton of mods installed (including metallurgy, so your mod conflicts with that. Currently sorting out the IDs in dump for my own use though.)
Your modification can also conflict with computercraft IDs, as well as IC2 IDs. (IC2 just bugfixed ore dictionary though. So if you have it, you may want to update it, and remove all config files to fix it.)

This. Pretty sure she said the releases / builds would all be private.

I'm not, I'm on 1.4.2.10

which means NEIPlugins is at fault here.

item IDs that need resolving:
^^ These aren't blocks, they aren't listed in the NEI all dump file.

Because it won't let me press OK or close it without closing Minecraft too.

So how do I reinstall it? Just remove everything in the server folder, leave forge's jar file, run it, then put the mods in, and see if it'll conflict? After that, in-game, how do I resolve conflicts using NEI?

So here, you tell me what to install in what order:
Buildcraft
Equivalent Exchange 3
Ender Storage
NEI
Industrial Craft 2
NEI Plugins
Railcraft
Metallurgy 2 << has one conflict with IC2 as well.
ComputerCraft
This is on a Vanilla server, as I can't use bukkit due to limitations of Forge and people being able to not login at all when I use bukkit.
Remember, server and SSP on 1.4.5 (latest forge, not recommended forge.) If I could learn how to set block / item IDs above 4100, I'd be all set. But I can't, it's out of bounds.

These are the latest buildcraft and IC2:

and
http://forum.industrial-craft.net/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=8375
So no, that's definitely wrong.

Sure, just watch the videos I followed (to do it correctly), and you'll see that the correct way doesn't work for me:
Doing the above video's instructions (in this post, not my opening post to this thread) gets me to the opening post's result, not able to port forward.
