I tried this, but the game just reverted the value to 32. Setting the options as "read only" allowed it to stay at 100, but the game still only rendered out 32 chunks
Edit: I just checked optionsof.txt instead of options.txt but there's no chunk loading setting in that config.

I'm wondering if it's possible to set the render distance over 32 chunks. I tried manually editing options.txt but the game would correct that to 32; setting the file to read-only keeps the options.txt at 100 but in-game the rendering is still 32. I'm just looking to take a neat screenshot, doesn't have to be usable performance-wise.

I actually get that same rendering error—only thing I've noticed affected so far is the custom torch model from Sphax's resource pack, but there are probably others.

I'm wondering if there's any documentation for this about which substances can act as coolants, radiation regulation, etc. As the last major version of the game I played contained Thermal Expansion, all of my cooling was cryotheum/ender liquids. I recall a cryptic hint about "life force" being a good coolant, but if I need to get into blood magic for the reactor, that's something else!

You can disable "natural blocks" in optifine to remove these randomized textures. I'm pretty sure that's intentional

Anyways, on optifine.net, the mirror links should be fine. I use them since I've donated for the cape rather than using adf.ly's sketchy ad services.

Cool, I'll keep that in mind. While you're still here, I have a small feature request: It'd be real nifty to have an option to export to text the resource list. Not hard to type it up myself, but it'd be mighty convenient.
