Having a lot of random crashes the past week where Minecraft freezes the Xbox 360 completely. Played for about 6 hours on the weekend and experienced 4 lock-ups during that time. Cleared up extra space to be sure there was plenty. Deleted cache files, etc.and whatever else the Xbox will let you clean up. Still having the crashes.

Sure hoping the next release addresses this. I really can't say what was causing this because each time what I was doing was different. Happened in both single player and multi-player. Is there still an issue with maps in item frames causing lock-ups? I thought that was resolved, but maybe not?

Finally! I've been experiencing both of these issues since TU14, I believe. I've even mentioned them before on a previous bug thread but didn't get any kind of acknowledgement. The fact that no one else seemed to be having these problems was driving me crazy. What's weird, though, is that you're saying that you're only just now having this happen you, but it's been happening to me since well before the TU19+ updates.

There have been various issues relating to animals and "following" problems since early updates. Can't say when they started but they've come and gone depending on the release. In early releases chickens would just spin at the top of stairs or at gates so that made it very difficult to get them anywhere especially a pen.

I had not noticed issues in TU19 or TU20 but I have been working in a world that I created in TU19, and since I penned my animals early on, unless they were somehow freed (darn creepers) or killed (stupid wolves) I didn't have a need to lead other animals around. Unfortunately in TU23 something is causing my sheep to disappear and that was when I started having problems with getting their interest and getting them through doors. They will follow me, but if I am forced to switch items it is a pain to get them to follow me again. The door thing is a real pain since I have to destroy my doors or lead them through unplanned holes in my walls to get them where I want them. Of course then I have to patch up all the openings I made to allow them in.

New issue. I cannot get animals (sheep, cows, pigs and chickens) to follow me through double doors when they are open. I have to remove the doors in order for them to pass through.

By "follow", I mean that I am luring them using the appropriate food item to get them to follow me. I've also noticed that it seems harder to catch an animal's attention, especially if I switch off the food item and then back on to it. Used to be an instant re-interest in the item, but now I have to wait a period of time before it will latch on again. By design? Or bug?

Is there any way to stop wolves from spawning inside pens? I've had my sheep collection killed twice now thanks to wolves spawning inside the pen and killing them all. At least I think that is what is happening. It's that or there is a bug related to sheep despawning. Since it has only happened twice now after many hours of play I am guessing it's the wolves.

Also, has the lighting levels at which hostile mobs can spawn at changed? I am finding mobs appearing in what I would have thought were well lit areas. I don't recall this being an issue before, thus curious if there were any adjustments made.

Lastly, I want to second the comments about the repair costs increasing. It's gotten to the point where anvils are useless due to the high cost of repair. When is the updated PC repair system going to be implemented in the console version? From what I read that sounds like a much better system. Hope that is coming soon!

I've been playing the current release quite a bit lately and noticed that the old bug where you get caught in blocks and start taking damage is back. I've experienced this with walls, fences, and steps (used as roofs) so far. Seems to happen quite a bit more frequently then it did in the past, and it is much easier to get stuck on something now.

Sometimes I take damage, but most time I just get stuck in a block and have to wiggle my way out. Not sure if there are two issues at work here (damage vs. getting stuck) but it seems similar to what was happening ages ago.

Also, when riding a horse I experienced terrible lag when playing with two and three players. The more people the worse it gets. Single play did not impact the horse riding experience at all.

The memory leak problem persists. After playing for a while frame rates begin to drop and get worse over time. Haven't had any crashes as a result but once I notice the frames slowing I usually save and exit. If I save while this is happening it takes much longer for the game to save and while on the saving screen the scrolling tutorial world background moves very slowly. Thankfully hasn't crashed while saving but I was afraid it would a couple of times due to the very slow movement of the progress bar.

    Single player survival on hard.

I have experienced this behaviour as well but it comes and goes depending on the update and didn't matter what level of difficulty I was on. Its fixed and then it breaks, and then its fixed again. The game just slows down over time. It usually gets to the point where I have no choice but to exit and restart and then it is fine. In a couple of cases I had to completely exit the game (back to the console home screen) and relaunch it to clear up the memory problems. There's definitely a leak somewhere. I notice it more when having been in the nether a lot or when farming hostile mobs for a while. Otherwise the sluggishness isn't too bad (again depending on the TU I was playing).

I recently added about 150 item frames in my world and noticed a frame rate drop, but assumed I was pushing limits of the console. It causes a choppiness when moving around certain ways. Debating about whether to take them down or live with it.

    New bug - Sleepy Time

Found a new bug that is happening with beds and relating to the time to go to sleep.

    • When trying to get into bed the timing is off... it now takes the clock another visual cycle before you stop getting the warning message about sleeping at night. It used to be bed time was just before the line separating day and night went straight up. Now it won't let you try until the line is straight up. Small issue, but changed behaviour.
    • The other issue is that when you try to click on the bed to sleep it won't always let you enter the bed. Found this happened on single player and multi-player. Watched while I was able to sleep and my friend kept clicking on the bed but could not enter it. Took about 15 seconds before he could enter his bed. This has happened to me many times now on single player.

When playing single player the issues are now gone. The bed behaviour and clock timing just suddenly started working normally again. Makes no sense. Haven't played multi-player yet to see if both issues are still occurring, but will before the end of the week.

Out of interest have you tried increasing the Interface sensitivity in the controls menu?

I played around with the sensitivity settings and that helps, but there is cursor lag when you first move the cursor in the inventory area. It takes a moment for the cursor to come up to speed. Sometimes it's reasonable but sometimes the lag is very frustrating. I didn't have to adjust the sensitivity in previous updates. I just used the default and it was fine. Thx!

Is it me or is the UI really slow when moving inventory into chests or furnaces? The cursor seems to really drag. I noticed it was slow for the potion brewer a couple of updates ago, but the UI seems to be slowing down across the board making it a little frustrating to use. Anyone else experience this?

Any update to the issues with the mob spawners both in the overworld and the nether? I haven't downloaded today's update, but I am guessing since it wasn't listed, the mob issues were not addressed.

I noticed the other day when in the overworld that a large number of hostile mobs were out at night, more than I have ever seen. I believe what is happening is the hostile mobs are generating to their max in the nether and/or the overworld and this is having a huge impact on the hostile mob spawners. Not sure what changed, but this has been broken for a few releases now.

Could this be related to the change that is supposed to make them tougher the longer you stay in an area?

You say you work in the software industry... so, objectively, do you honestly believe that absolutely everything in the "total of 12 pages" here actually is a coding bug and that they are all bugs of a sort that are readily fixable? Personally, I don't think the perfect video game has been created yet.

At the risk of being off topic I will quickly respond. No, I agree not everything in the 12 pages is a legitimate bug. That wasn't the point. I was referring to the effort put in to reporting the issues. We as players and "bug reporters" are trying to help make the game better. Updating the master list of reported bugs (confirmed or not) is not a lot to ask to acknowledge that it is at least a worthwhile effort of our time. It also helps reduce duplicate bug reports. If I see it's already there, I won't bother reporting it again. Yes I know some people just report and forget, but there are some very legit players that report issues every release and want to help in their own way.

I appreciate a healthy work/life balance and do not fault people for taking time off. The lack of attention to the list has gone on for more than a few weeks. Not trying to start a riot, just saying it would be nice if it could be updated.

My comments about the buggy releases are echoed by many, many users. But, ultimately Minecraft continues to sell, so our frustrations will always be secondary, if that. That's just business. Companies are ultimately driven by profit. Until the releases become so frustrating that players start dropping in large numbers, what a few people say in a forum that may not even have a wide audience will always be meaningless to their bottom line.

This forum is the only place to express our frustrations. You have to understand that it is frustrating when we can't properly play a game we love. It's not intended (at least from my end) to slam anyone. We're just trying to be heard. My comment to 4JSteve was a bit on the sarcastic side and I apologize for that. Just really frustrated with the nether issues and would at least like them to be acknowledged as being an issue.

I love the fact that a console game is grown through updates. This is not the norm for a console game. I am a huge fan of the game. I love that it promotes creativity and doesn't focus too much on violence. All I am asking is that a little more care be given to the release process and if they can't find these bugs on their own, bring us into the process. I'd love to help.

I'll get back on top now. Thanks for listening.

    New Bug?

Did the game mechanics/rules relating to where emeralds can be found change? I have not been able to find a single emerald since TU19 unless I trade with a villager.

This contains all confirmed and unconfirmed bugs for MCXB360E. This thread allows other users to list bugs they have experienced, offer and view solutions and workarounds.
    • Mining Animation is incorrect - We are aware of this issue and we are looking at ways to improve this.
    • Disabling "Fire Spreads" causes fire to never extinguish.
    • Passive mobs continue walking when they are more than 32 blocks away.
    • Random water source blocks when water is being dispensed - As shown by Mumbo Jumbos Mob farm.

4JSteve, I am so frustrated about the fact that this list has not been updated since TU22 went out. The bugs listed here are carried over from TU21 and yet to be resolved. Some of the key issues that have been raised for both releases have never officially been acknowledged as "confirmed and unconfirmed bugs". There have been multiple problems left unresolved in the updates such as the nether issues, the mob spawning issues, ongoing redstone issues, etc. It's a pretty lengthy list when you look at everything that has been reported in the last few months.

Is it safe to say that reporting bugs is a wasted effort? A total of 12 pages relating to the TU21 & TU22 bugs have been posted by multiple users over the course of the two releases but there's been practically no response from anyone to acknowledge us. There's been no word of upcoming features either. Are there really no plans for the console versions of Minecraft any more? Is it officially a dead product?

It would really help to ease your loyal customers' frustrations to say a few words about what's going on or to at least update the bugs list to acknowledge the issues people are posting. Otherwise why should we continue helping? We contribute because we want to see the game continue and improve. We're trying to help! But I have to keep asking myself why.

If you are too busy "Currently Playing - Minecraft PS4/Xbox One Edition, GTAV (PS4), Tales of Hearts R (Vita), Pokemon Omega Ruby (3DS) and World of Warcraft" to do your job then perhaps we should find better things to do as well and let Minecraft decline even faster. Maybe it's run its course and we should just all say buh-bye to it.

Working in the software industry has taught me a great deal about customer service over the years, and the fact that Mojang/4J Studios/Microsoft are not acknowledging the FREE help they are getting from their customers to improve their product is shameful. You should also re-evaluate your code release process and quality control. The fact that you release buggy code in every update is ridiculous. You already know historically from the PC version where the bugs are most likely to be, yet we continue to see repeated problems again and again. That's just lazy coding. I am surprised the updates get past Microsoft testing, but I guess it just speaks volumes about their testing process.

You should find a way to involve the users that report the problems to help test the fixes before they go live. Perhaps there's some way to patch the game outside of the "official" update process? A USB stick patch perhaps? Imagine a release that is virtually issue free. Been a very long while since that's happened, if ever.

Come on 4JSteve, Mojang, 4J Studios and Microsoft. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Acknowledge your loyal customers. If you don't, crappy quality control will be the death of this good thing you've got going here.

Resetting the nether does NOT fix the problem. I've gone through that exercise myself, lost everything I had done, and it still made no difference.

Enderman can't dance! - Since TU20 Enderman run away when they are attacked, spasmodically moving around the map in a blur like they were performing some weird dance ritual. They won't come back to attack me again unless I look them in the eyes, however many times they end up so far away or out of view I have no way to bring them back. This was working fine pre-TU20 or TU21. I can't remember which update broke this.

So it turns out that the Enderman was always running away because I was using a Fire Aspect effect on my sword. I hadn't used Fire Aspect in a while, which was the cause for the spasmodic behaviour. My 10 year old son (and Minecraft expert) corrected me and said this is normal. Apologies for the false report.
