    That is actually quite creepy.

There was probably a mineshaft below you but mine-carts don't run by themselves.

    Interesting find. :)

And what makes it more strange is that it happened several times to me and also to my brother who has a different account and a different computer.

I had something where I was walking through a forest and I kept hearing a mine-cart, I never figured out what it was.

posted a message on removal of the 'ite' blocks

I personally like the "-ites" but I hear what you're saying. They were one of my favorite parts of 1.8 from the start, the actual purpose of the blocks is purely aesthetic. I also don't like the "blobs" they generate in, I would like it if they came in large 1-2 block thick sheets that cover areas of around 100-300 m2 like sedimentary layers. Same with the "blobs" of dirt and gravel, sand should also be found under-ground in similar layers,

posted a message on A little "help" for laptop users with bad graphics cards

The first computer I tried to play Minecraft on was awful, made more-so by the fact that I didn't know how to turn the graphics to fast. The only reason I survived was because I didn't know any different. I got about 1-2 FPS, I kid you not. Going into the forest almost killed the world and going to a swamp required me to delete the world (I never tried a jungle).

posted a message on What is the maximum number of GHz?

I have noticed that most processors do not exceed about 4.5 GHz, is that the maximum number of GHz you can have in one processor? Also, how many processors can you pack together in one "clump" there are duo-cores and quad-cores but what about tri-cores, and hex-cores and such?

posted a message on Why the big hype on the words "Java Edition"
    Quote from ShelLuser»

The issues are two fold. First and foremost Minecraft has always been a Java game, that's how this whole thing started. Therefor it has always been called "Minecraft". If you mentioned "Minecraft" you were referring to the Java edition.

Not only has Mojang renamed 'Minecraft' into 'Minecraft Java Edition' they also renamed the Pocket Edition (or mobile or whatever) into 'Minecraft'. So now if you mention 'Minecraft' they're trying to make it so that you're actually talking about the pocket/mobile/etc. edition. And that ticks plenty of people off because Minecraft has always been Java. Basically, according to some players, the original players of the game have now been moved to the sidelines and they're no longer considered official Minecraft players. Instead anyone playing the mobile editions are now considered "official" (note: not my opinion but just what I perceived around me).

The other issue has already been mentioned by others: the fear that Mojang could very well focus their attention completely onto the other platforms and discontinue support for the Java edition. I think those are valid concerns because it is a fact that Mojang / Microsoft might be able to make a whole lot more money on those "portable platforms". Where we can simply download any skin we'd like you'd have to pay for it on the console editions.

It will take a long time before people make that switch, the concept the "Minecraft" means the quote-unquote "Java Edition" is so ingrained and while avid Pocket Edition players will most likely embrace the new system even they may refuse to switch. It doesn't concern me whether it's called the Java Edition or not however I will continue to call it "Minecraft".

posted a message on Newbie to minecraft?

Umm... so? what are you asking/saying? You want help overcoming your so-called "noobishness"? Or is this a thread for "noobs"? When you make a thread you should be a bit more specific as to what you want to discuss/ask. Not to seem mean but yeah.

posted a message on How did you choose your username?
    Quote from Skelebling»

I used to watch Paulsoaresjr's "Survive and Thrive" series. In the second series (after the game was released) he started to call skeletons in full gold armour "Skelebling". I don't know why but I remembered this and when I got to pick my username for my account back in 2013 I thought Skelebling sounded cool. I had thought about changing it but decided not to after I started using it on other platforms like Steam and social media. 4 years later and I have never changed my Minecraft account's name, and never intend to.

Slightly off topic but, it seems like sleketons are the most frequently nick-names mobs in Minecraft, I've heard, Skelington, Skelebob, and Skelly, and now Skelebling.

posted a message on Need help with cool heads

So in maps I often see custom heads especially security cameras, plants, and computers, who do these heads belong to? I'd love to use them in a map I'm making. Is there a list out there somewhere with all the best heads for map-making? And yes I know about the MHF heads.
