I saw Etho build his silverfish farm in his videos, but he ran into problems that would make the silverfish machine jam. I wanted to make an unbreakable silverfish farm that Etho could use as long as he wanted without worry. Here is what I came up with. Enjoy.

Welcome to Miltonville SMP! The server is mainly vanilla with PvP and anti-griefing plugins and a few other plugins for your convenience. We have a very friendly community and voice chat! Running 24/7 on a dedicated host.
Server Events
PvP and PvM Tournaments
What - We will hold PvP and PvM (Player vs. Monster) tournaments fighting various types of battles and giving prizes to winners! Our arena is wired up to have many features and provide many levels of difficulty.
When- Always on the weekends at various times. Usually from 2pm-9pm EST. Events may be held earlier or later depending on who is on. If enough people are on, there may be some weekday events.
Where- There is a sign in the spawn with the coordinates, or ask a mod to teleport you there.
Fighters-
You may use everything you pick up in the arena (bows, arrows, zombie flesh)
Dispose of items between rounds (in PvP events only)
Do not bring any items
Do not safe spot a lot. This will result in a slowness or weakness potion being thrown at you.
Be a good sport and don't rage if you lag (There will be more events later. The world will not end)
Spectators-
You may bring whatever you want.
Do not throw items at players
Do not jump into the arena (you will most likely lose your items)
Again, do not rage and scream things like "OMG11!!!1@ SO UNFAIR". This will get you kicked.
Plugins
LWC- We use LWC to protect chests, furnaces, doors, signs, etc. Commands can be found in the spawn.
Essentials- Members have access to certain essentials commands like /home
WorldGuard - This lets us turn off things like fire-spread, tnt block damage, and creeper block damage.
Other Plugins - We have some other plugins to help the server run smoothly. A full list of the plugins we have can be seen by typing /plugins while you are in-game.

Our server uses ranks to organize people. Higher ranks are given to people who help the server. Do not ask to be ranked up. You will most likely not be considered for a rank up if you do.
Default To obtain rank: Log in Ability to:
-Chat
-Move around
Member To obtain rank: Find the rank up word by reading signs in spawn Ability to:
-Get everything previous ranks have
-Build and destroy blocks
-Use commands like /home /spawn /cprivate etc.
-Fight in PvP and PvM events in the Arena
Respected Member To obtain rank: Be helpful and active on the server Ability to:
-Get everything previous ranks have
-Be more respected than a member.
Donator $1 To obtain rank: Donate $1 to the server Ability to:
-Get everything previous ranks have
-Be able to choose your reward in the mob arena (as opposed to being randomly selected)
-Set 3 homes (as opposed to 1)
-Stack of iron ingots
-Use /kit tools for iron tools (with a cooldown)
-Guaranteed slot on the server
-1 xp bath
Supporter $2 To obtain rank: Donate $2 to the server Ability to:
-Get everything previous ranks have
-Get your land protected from griefers (60x60 size limit)**
-Set 5 homes
-Get 5 diamonds
-Access to /tpa (lets you request a teleport to anyone) Other person can accept or decline
-xp baths weekly
Super Donator $5 To obtain rank: Donate $5 to the server Ability to:
-Get everything previous ranks have
-Get your land protected from griefers (100x100 size limit)**
-Set 7 homes
-Get 5 more diamonds
-Host PvP and Mob Arena events with some limitations*
-xp baths twice a week
VIP $10 To obtain rank: Donate over $10 Ability to:
-Get everything previous ranks have
-Set 10 homes
-Get 10 more diamonds -Get your land protected from griefers (150x150 size limit)** -Host PvP and Mob Arena events with no limitations* -Get 1 spawner of your choice -Daily xp baths
Land protection has a maximum of 3 owners. If there are more than 3 people living where you want your land protected, then you will have to choose another spot.

Moderator To obtain rank: Be very helpful. Help new members, offer food, report griefers. After the staff notices you doing this, you may be invited to become a moderator if we need more staff. Ability to:
-Monitor and handle people on the server with various commands and tools
-Monitor and roll back griefing
-Kick and ban players
Owner/Admin To obtain rank: It is basically impossible to get to this rank. Only the best and most trusted of the moderators will ever be offered the chance to become an admin. New admins be accepted if there is a need for more. Ability to:

If a mob is against a single block wall when you log out, when you log back in they could shift across a bit making the game put them the other side of the wall, this why your spiders are phasing through the tube.
Solutions:
2 blocks all around the tube (including diagonals)
Some piston based lighting to render the spawners inactive and make sure every one turns the lights on and kills all the spiders before they log off.
I tried that, but the spiders are still escaping. I've made the walls 4 thick. Do to mobs have to be completely boxed in from the top too? Btw, I love your series! It's an honor for me to have someone like you post in my thread :biggrin.gif:
So on this multiplayer server, there are frequently over 20 people, so typically when someone lags out or logs off, all the mobs around them immediately despawn.
I'm having a lot of trouble with mobs not despawning. I will log off and when I log back on, 10 or so cave spiders have escaped from their holding tube. I have logged out over-night and they were still there in the morning. I'm sure there was no one near the spawners.
If anyone has an idea on how to fix this glitch or at least how to easily deal with the loose spiders, please share with me. Thanks!

I have been playing minecraft since 1.7 and have played on countless servers.
Does the server have a voice chat? Maybe Mumble?
