I miss the mod in 1.9.4 and 1.10.2 made making a jeb door that can be opened and closed on either side much easier

Lately I've been focusing on moving my Prerelease Development to 1.9 (and then 1.10), but have spent the last while focusing on a Game I made. I'll probably get back to the port within the next few weeks and would like to have something ready within a month. (The prerelease doesn't have Redstone Button/Levers in it, if I reimplement them I'd like to move them to a separate mod that focuses on basic Redstone utilities).

Can you please update it to maybe 1.8 please?........

I've been working on it ^_^ (you can find the download here)

Illusion blocks I place keep turning into cracked stone illusion blocks then into stone illusion blocks, how do I fix this? Love this mod btw, its well made and incredible!

    Thanks!
I spent some time digging up my code and looking through it for how illusion blocks meta is bring handled. I can't find anything that should be causing this, so I'd suspect it's some sort of mod incompatibility. Some places to investigate if we want to solve this are:
    - Do you have any other mods that change blocks?
    - When does the change happen? (When placed, when the chunks are loaded, when the world is closed and then reopened, when you use another mod's feature on the block)?
    - Does this happen in single player, multiplayer, or both?
    - Can you remove mods until you find what other mod is causing this? (or does it happen when Torch Levers is the only mod installed?)

Unfortunately I'm not really supporting Torch Levers 1 anymore (so I can focus on the newer versions), but I would like to help you figure out what's happening.

Please put 2.0 in 1.7.10, what's the problem with that?

I did post that I wouldn't be back-porting any mods, but occasionally I try to provide them if there is enough interest. Unfortunately though, it would be a very significant effort, and take a large chunk of my time I could otherwise spend adding new content and supporting newer versions of Minecraft. If you (or anyone else) is extremely motivated the source code is on github, and I wouldn't mind if a Maker's Mark 2 for older Minecraft was created, it's just not where I want to put my effort.

^_^ Thank you for your interest in my mod though, and sorry I can't be more help.

Speaking of which: I don't mean to be that guy, HitchH1k3r, but do you have an ETA on 1.9/1.10.2 (they both work the same)?

I've been working on getting Torch Levers to Minecraft 1.8.9 and was going to update them both together to 1.9 and 1.10. I'm not sure how long that will take though and can probably spend some time in August looking into moving Maker's Mark ahead to 1.9 and 1.10. If I do that though, there wont be any content updates until after I update my entire development environment to 1.10, but that was probably the case anyway.

EDIT: I'm asking for a bit of feedback on if my mods should move to Minecraft 1.10 now or later.

I'm also very curious if this will be updated to 1.8.9. We recently did a server restart and this had been on of the harder mods to cut given that currently it doesn't work.

I know it's been a while since you guys inquired about an update, and thanks for the interest in the mod!

I just wanted to post here though, in case anyone else is wondering...
I've been actively working on an updated version for a while now, and recently started to post prereleases in secret... ^_^

You can find the first one here, and I'm writing up a post for the second one now (I'll probably be up by the time most people read this).

It's not a conflict, the problem is that the Maker's Mark version for Minecraft 1.7.10 is an older version. The original version I made in a week, and it lacks a lot of the features added in 2.0... Sorry about that.

I didn't realize there was a new Forge. I updated my development environment and there are no compile errors, and everything seems to work still. I'll probably work on an update though since the new in-game config GUI is messing with the limited inspection option being enforced by the server.

Thanks for pointing out the new version!

Like you can see, the surface of bookshelf is not smooth. Would you like make it looks smooth?

It's a bit hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like you don't have the texture pack support file... it automatically downloads, are you playing offline? If you want to get the file and are playing offline make a file in your configurations directory called TorchLevers_TextureSupport.txt and fill it with the text found here:http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=P19Yvabh That should do it... but if you are playing online, maybe the file is corrupted somehow (try deleting it and letting the mod download it again).

If you have a good copy of the file but are using a resourcepack (it doesn't look like you are), it might not be supported. Unsupported texture packs show a normal shaped button that matches the texture beneath it.

You can manually change where the button is placed too! There is some info in the first post, and some more back here. I hope that helped!

When will there be a 1.8 version?

I'm working on it right now, but it's going to take a long time still. I still don't have any idea how long though, I'd really like to have at least some core features done (and an early build out) this year.

any chance you might add a shop feature?

Here is a snippet from my notes:

"Automatic Traders! I'd like to add one or two (maybe more) blocks that do coin/economy related interaction. For a basic interaction I like the idea of a vending machine that you right click with the coin it's set to and out pops the item it's displaying. For a more advanced trader I can see maybe a complex system of prices and products with limits and inventory. There would be a panel on the back that you can open to set it up, and then all other sides would have a friendly trading interface."

I'm working on Torch Levers 2 right now though, and I suspect it will take quite a while... In the meantime you can use anything that can detect or trade items and is NBT sensitive to do this. Sorry if this isn't the answer you were looking for. ^_^ It's defiantly on the horizon, though I think most people using the mod right now will have move to other things by the time I'm done.

If anyone know how to mod, is super brave, and wants to try to setup a development environment for Maker's Mark -- it's open source on GitHub. If you submit a pull request I'll probably look at it, and if it's consistant with the rest of the mods theme I'll probably accept it!

Just a small question, when i play the vanilla texture the coin appears as it's meant to be, but when i try to run another recource pack, all the coins are just purple, is there any way to fix this?

P.S. Amazing mod, looks incredible and quaint essential to any MMO style modpack and/or server.

Edit: Just a texture glitch or something likewise, no help needed, keep up the good work :D

Hmmm... I updated the mod and it might be fixed now. If not you might be able to fix it by changing the resource pack to vanilla and back from within the game's options menu (not on the main menu). If you're still having issues let me know the resource pack you're using so I can test it out.

Wow, such a simple concept and a great utility!... oh, no 1.7? well... uh... bye then.

Minecraft 1.7.10 was a very requested feature... so I ported my 1.0 version to 1.7.10. Porting Version 2.0 back would be a lot of work (by the time I was done a lot of mods would probably be updated to 1.8 ^_^). Keep in mind version 1.0 was made in a single week and lacks a lot of features the 2.0 version has. You can find the download link for Version 1.0 http://hitchh1k3rsguide.com/makersmark

Can someone help me with this crash I get whenever I launch my game:

    --snip--

    Thanks

    ~xymphio~

I believe that crash means that Forge has exceeded it's block ID count (I think it's capped at 4000ish). This can happen if you add a bunch of mods to a world and then remove or change the mods in it, and then add more mods (every block added by every mod that's ever been loaded in that world will use an ID slot). If you're just making a modpack or something try creating a new world, if it sill crashes you'll probably have to remove some mods. If your needs are move complex then that you might have to look into the Forge API and how it saves block IDs in your world file.

Also, while I'm at it, would it be okay if I included your mod in a modded server? It will be semi-private for no monetary gain. If so, let me know any restrictions you would like. (I'm planning on putting a text document within the mod pack file disclaiming any and all rights I own to any mod within the mod pack, including links to every mod author's website and more.)

    Hi there!

I'm the author of the Dimensional Pockets mod, which has an automatic (reduced) crashlog sending. (since I figure that most people will never actually report errors themselfs)

I'm writing because within the last 24 hours, I had ~90 reports coming in with exactly the same content: http://pastebin.com/LBrE5hzR

Since all reports were sent from servers and the mod configuration is exactly the same in all 90 reports, I assume all of them come from a single source.

This seems to be the source of the error:

    Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: net/minecraft/client/Minecraft
    at torchLevers.Utilities.tellLocalUser(Utilities.java:118)
    at torchLevers.TorchLevers.load(TorchLevers.java:569)

They are using Torch Levers 1.4.1, so maybe you have fixed this already. I just thought I let you know. :)

    Quote from McsBlueDragon»

Hi HitchH1k3r! I like your mod and added it to my private modpack.

A few weeks ago I started a new server and played without issues for many many hours.

Two days ago I stopped the server for maintenance, and yesterday when i tryed to restart it, there was a crash.

After that, I couldn't restart my world until your mod was removed.

This crash is strange because I had not added any block from your mod into the world, yet.

    --- snip ---

    Versions: MC = 1.7.10 / Forge = 10.13.2.1291 / Torch Levers mod = 1.4.1

I have other 240 mods in my modpack.

Now I will try the new 1.4.2 version, but I red into the changelog that it fixes just some rendering issues.

Anyhow, thanks for your great work. I let you know if I have new info.

There was a bug I didn't notice at first in the in-game changelog for servers, when I updated the version number on my server it crashed all restarting servers... (whoops). Yesterday morning I removed the update notification and it shouldn't be happening anymore, sorry about that. Thanks for the quick reporting!

As a side effect Torch Levers 1.4-1.4.2 wont tell you when a new version is available. If there is a 1.4.3 or 2.0 release I'll fix if for that.

Minecraft 1.7.2 isn't officially supported (I haven't tested on it), but I just pushed a new version of the mod (version 1.4.2), that might fix this. I changed the way the camouflage parts rendered when smooth lighting is turned on.

Not all items are showing up in my game :/ I look for the other buttons such as brick, book etc and they're not there in NEI and even when I try to craft them nothing happens. I dunno if it's a block ID conflict with another mod of mine or if it's a bug...

They should all show up and be craftable. It's possible they are disabled in 'torchLevers.cfg' you can find it in the /config/ directory. Towards the top there are configuration options to turn off any of the blocks you don't want in the game.

    Using 1.7.10

Hmmm... I wasn't able to recreate this bug. If you're using an invasive graphics altering mod like Optifine try disabling that. Also try making sure you're running the recommended Forge version (currently 10.13.4.1448). If you'd like more help send me a list of the mods your using or a game log and I'll try to recreate the bug.

Torch Levers is the only mod being ran on this modded server when this crash occurs. Here is a crash report:

    --- snip---

Any and all help with this problem would be much appreciated, and thanks for your time and creating such an amazing mod.

I tried out the newest Forge and it seemed to have a lot of issues. Try rolling back to 1448 (the latest recommended build), and double check that you're using Torch Levers 1.4.1 (now updated to 1.4.2, so use that ^_^). There was a bug in 1.4 that caused server crashes, but I fixed it a year ago and don't really remember what caused it. If the error persists let me know and I'll try to help.

It's a really nice looking mod but does it work on version 1.8 ?

It hasn't been updated to Minecraft 1.8 yet, I'm rewriting it so it will still take a while. I'll probably post a preview version once I get the Torch Lever's added though. (The hardest part will be getting the torch baseplate to use the adjacent blocks texture with the new model system... once that's done it shouldn't be too long to finish everything else). Thanks for your interest in the mod!

    Quote from HawKDesigns»

The brick button for the chromahills texture pack needs to be moved. it overlaps onto 3 different bricks.

I stopped updating the texture support file a while back. By default the buttons will just show ugly extrusion, only if there is a proper definition will they look good. If you want you can add a definition manually either by editing the texture pack (there's some help in the first post), or by manually editing the TorchLevers_TextureSupport.txt file in the config directory, but that will be more difficult. (the format is something like: TEXTURE-HASH TOP-LEFT TOP-TOP TOP-WIDTH TOP-HEIGHT BOTTOM-LEFT BOTTOM-TOP BOTTOM-WIDTH BOTTOM-HEIGHT, you can see the hash printed to the game console when it starts, or loads the texture pack). Sorry that was a bit confusing, if you are interested in manually editing things, and need more help let me know and I'll try to be a bit more clear.

    Quote from Nephanor»

I would like to also see this one updated to 1.8. And hey, if you aren't able to spend the time updating it, you can always open source it, I am sure folks would be happy to help. Honestly, not sure why more mods aren't open source, spreads the work around and lets folks get things done faster with less effort. This mod is a pretty cool idea, and honestly should be part of vanilla! :D

I'm working on a rewrite so right now there isn't a lot to open source ^_^ I've been leaning towards making all my mods open source lately though and once the rewrite is done will probably put it on Github. The hard part in the 1.8 update is the new model format and the fact that blocks are now separate graphically and in the game code (any block's model can be changed by any texture pack...), once I figure that out the rest of the mod should be easy.

Mob AI should treat illusion blocks as solid blocks... They will not path through a wall of them. They will try to jump on them and walk over them. Of course you can push them though them and the will fall of they do try to walk over them. (I'm not sure if they break line of sight, but I'd guess so)
