I don't like using wood to build, instead I use different type of stones, but mostly just cobble and stone. It annoys me that they haven't made a stone chest yet, it looks so diminishing in my stone cavern of doom.

A few tips I'd suggest is not to blur out the renders, as the renders are the focal point of the image. Especially on the second image, it just ruins it. I assume you're just brushing the background. Try using some C4Ds and overlaying them, anything below lighten. Lastly, the text needs more depth, and how designers normally do this is by soft brushing a burnt (or finding a darker spot) and placing the text there. Text placement is also very important, as it should not draw the viewer away from the focal point (render).

Arota lies on the roof waiting, in secluded solace awaiting the ship's departure from the dock. He looks at the sky imagining something greater than life that lies beyond the realm of the existing. He shakes his head in doubtfulness and his mind becomes a clean slate. His hands interlocking sitting below his head, his body completely motionless aside the breathing. Arota feels a sudden spell of dis-ease cross his mind and as quickly as it comes, it leaves. He disregards the feeling.

He's the kind of person you wouldn't want to look straight in the eye, he's that shady character leaning against the wall that you see as you run past alleyways. Arota isn't actually a bad guy, he's just got a lot to deal with. He isn't a boast or much of a talker but he's witty, smart and sarcastic. He's also got a genial smile that absolutely radiates with warmth and benign although he rarely shows it.

Equipment type - Onikuro [Gunscythe]
Looks like above except without the creepy eyes next to the blade. The pointy end that isn't used for slashing opens into a rifle mouth which shoots .50 BMG rounds made of bone at the rate of a blot-action rifle. To fire the rifle, the wielder must load any part of his body, no matter how small or large (could be a hair, fingernail or even a finger or eye), into the loading chamber.
Skills:
Rifle - The rifle fires a shot that will pierce through any body of flesh. The bullet 'consumes' flesh and material growing bigger as it travels, once it has 'consumed' enough flesh; it implodes. If the bullet does not hit flesh first but something else, it will combust. The larger the body part that is loaded into the chamber, the larger the implosion will be.
Scythe - The scythe will try to devour as much of the Akuma's flesh as it can, this makes it slow to retract when being used against Akumas as it will try to entrench and dig itself into the tissue, unless the user's will and muscular strength is stronger than the Scythe urge to eat flesh. The less it is used the more hungry it becomes.
Strengths:
He is quick on his feet and is pretty strong, he's also good when thinking on the go and his close quarters combat skill are superlative. When he's got the right mindset he'll do anything to prevent a fellow human from dying, even if it means becoming martyr.
Weakness:
When he sees the Akuma he'll run straight into headfirst in a burst of bloodlust. He's greedy when it comes to taking the kill and will usually disregard anyone and any thought before running into a fight. He also has a rare tendency to black out right in the heat of battle.
Biography:
Arota's mother died in a car crash caused by his father being way too inebriated to be classified as 'drunk', Arota was too young to remember the crash but carries a scar of it on the underside of his left arm. After that, Arota's father decided to change and was a good role model who stayed with Arota until he was 12. One day, Arota's dad went missing on his way back from a business trip, Arota had heard that Akumas may have slaughtered his father but he was unsure.
His wretched aunt took him in after that and treated him horribly to the extent that he absconded with his girlfriend, Kaori, when he was 14. Then when he was 19 an Akuma killed Kaori and burned down the apartment where he and Kaori lived, he was out at the time and when he got back all that was left was ashes and her locket that contained a picture of him and Kaori, he blacked out his face in the picture with a permanent maker and then wore the locket as his own. Looking for a way to avenge Kaori and possibly his father as well, he set out looking to join the Black Order to get even... and more.
No More Heroes for the WII,
I though it was over the top gory and disturbingly inappropriate. Just by looking at the cover I could tell it oozed with distasteful ammounts gore and blood [and it is].
But then I decided to give NMH2 a try and now I just can't wait for No More Heroes 3.
